The U-Haul representative was on lunch break so I left my contract with the Ord Market clerk. I was told the U-Haul representative would e-mail me when my transaction was complete. It may have been nice to know that my rental truck was received at the Ord Market. Maybe a telephone message would be helpful.

First time towing anything and the Ord Market Manager was rude and unfriendly. I thought U-haul provided all equipment for towing, including the ball/receiver. I had none of those and the manager made me feel like an incompetent idiot. "How do you expect to tow this? Oh great, cancel then?!" was his response. I said no, I'll go buy a ball/receiver. I left for two hours to find a store 10 miles away and got helped by *friendly* people who understood my situation. They also said I'll need a lighting adapter which the Uhaul.com site and the Manager never mentioned! You taking notes, Uhaul Corporate? It gets worse once I returned. I met up with the Manager again, apologized for the inconvenience and shook his hand to see if he'd step off his Pedestal of Arrogance. Nope. I parked my truck about 100 feet from the trailer and as I walked out with the Manager from the store, he says, "Well you gotta pull your truck up to the trailer! The trailer's not gonna walk by itself over there!" Alright, now this guy is a complete asshole. I back up the truck to the trailer and he's yelling at me to steer correctly and as I get closer, he notices the truck rock back and forth. He asks rudely if the truck is stick shift. I said yes. "Psssh!" was his response. So finally I get the truck positioned and the Manager gets his gear to move the trailer. He was having difficulty getting the the hitch aligned to the ball so he asks my 69 year old dad and I to assist. Finally the trailer is attached and he assumed I knew how to secure the ball as he started to walk away. I asked him to show me and he steps back to secure the ball after I had already attached the two security chains. He then asks for the lighting adapter and attaches it. So now after two hours of inconvenience and misformation from Uhaul.com, we finally left after spending more than $50 on extra supplies on top of the Uhaul trailer rental. I've been working retail for over 14 years and this has made #1 on my list of Terrible Customer Service Experiences. Lastly, the Manager said he leave a space for me to return the trailer. Guess what happened (er, DIDN'T happen) when I returned? No space was left. So I placed it next to a Uhaul truck where 10 percent of the trailer was parked over the roadway entrance to the store. I had nowhere else to put it! Never coming here again. The Manager needs a serious reprimand AND a formal write-up (Corrective Notification). Better yet, take away his Uhaul license/contract. People like this should never serve the public. Ever.

Signage to help people find it. No recording for directions.drp off info or to leave message.hours were terrible ..closed at 1 on sat didnt open until 10 on sun..

We had a hard time finding this location. Google maps gave us "funky" directions. I strained to see if the u-haul location was at this gas station/market, but did not see any trucks. We drove right past and in sheer frustration tried to reach someone. The only one to pick up was the Clovis location and although they tried, they were not too helpful. They told us to go to another Marina location. Luckily I asked for that phone number and called before going. They did not accept other trucks at their location. I was very frustrated at this point--wasted mileage and gas driving around trying to find the return location. The agent from this other Marina location was somewhat longwinded and I finally cut him off and told him to listen to me and tell me where this 2700 Imjin road location was. We were only about .5 miles from it. Coming back from the other direction, the u-haul vehicles were visible in the back. We really needed someone to help us find the location and it was difficult getting that help. Would have been nice if someone were available to give us directions. Since the location was closed, we did not see the facility or speak to anyone. It was early afternoon Saturday when we returned the truck--thank goodness I was able to speak with someone locally to get directions. Can't imagine what I would have done had we not been able to get ahold of someone.

I had to wait 2 hours because the only capable person was not there. He said he called me and left a message, but this was just not true. I'm pretty ticked off and Uhaul is not an option for my next rental.

The first problem I had was getting a hold of a worker at my pick up location on my pick up date. I called 5 times to which I revived no answer during business hours, which I found on Google. The next problem was the address to my pick up location. This location (2700 Imjin PRKWY) when entered into an iPhone for navigation & google maps ends up being a Target once you arrive at your destination. I had to call U Haul C.S. who said I would be able to find my destination at a cross street further up the road from where I was, to which I found nothing at the instructed cross streets. I continued to drive along the road & luckily needed gas so I stopped at a Shell station, which happened to share their store w/ ORD Market Inc, my pick up location. The man working at this location was extremely rude & unpleasant. I don't believe he knew what customer service meant not did he care, as I saw how he treated another customer as well. A lady in line behind me said to the man working that she didn't see her U Haul truck on their lot that she had reserved for that date and that she was very annoyed. To which he replied "What does that mean, annoyed?" I'm glad I'll never need to go to this location again.

I initially reserved a 10' truck, online, to pick up in Castroville, CA and return in Berkeley, CA. I received a confirmation which informed me that I would receive a phone call the evening before my pick-up date to confirm my chosen location . . . I did not receive that phone call and so called the Castroville Chevron, my pick-up location early the day of my reservation and was informed that there was no truck available at that location and when I inquired as to why this would happen when I had a confirmation he could not give an explanation and even said that I would have received a call "IF" there was a truck there for me . . . He recomended I contact customer service, which I did, and was helped by a very nice agent. She was able to locate a 10' truck at the Ord Market location, however, I had to get there with-in 45 minutes as the business closed at noon that day. I did make it in time and was helped by what I presume was the manager of the store. His reception to me was somewhat curt - I felt as if I was interupting him. When he asked me if I was planning to drop off the truck in Oakland, I corrected him and said that no, I'm dropping it in Berkeley and I gave him the address I got from the online reservation site. I asked him that they would be expecting me there and he confirmed that they would, they would receive info he was inputting into computer. Okay, so off I go, the truck was great, easy to drive and the gas mileage was excellent. After unloading in Berkeley, we decided to return the truck right away (I had two day rental and this was only day one). We drove to the Berkeley drop off location and was informed by them that they would not accept the truck, and the closest drop off location for me would be in Richmond, CA. Of course I argued that I had a confirmation to drop off there and that driving to an alternate location would put me over my prepaid mileage and I would have to purchase more gas since I had just put in what my contract recommended, etc. He then informed me that if I didn't want to take it to Richmond and if I left it there I would be charged for the towing fees to have it removed . . . what the hell kind of business is this? I had already paid U-Haul for a two day rental and was returning it a day early, with required amount of gas as stated on my contract, the contract with his location on it and he is refusing to allow me to return the truck there!!! So, I went outside and called the number for the Richmond location that was given to me (by a very nice and embarrassed counter worker) to confirm that they would accept the truck (before I drove all the way there and was again refused). The lady I spoke to was APPALLED by my experience at the Berkeley location, and she contacted me to customer service, however, after being on hold for quite awhile, the call was lost. I then called again on my own and was again on hold for a very long time before being helped by a friendly agent named Terry who diligently helped

The business owner was competent and fast. We surely hoped we would have gone directly to him instead of relying on the poor services of the U-Haul center on Tioga St. in Sand City.
