When i reserved a cargo van online, the quoted price was a bit more than $60. No fine print was available on the website, and when i got to the store location i was quite surprised that i was expected to pay roughly $300, including a deposit and "various fees." Additionally, i was told i was required to use a card instead of cash (i prefer cash transactions); despite this, a man walked in right behind me, and handed cash to the other employee behind the desk. the employee with whom i dealt was not at all helpful when i asked why i was expected to pay this large sum. i had to continue to press for information until it was finally explained that the deposit would be held temporarily and the balance restored after returning the vehicle. I'm not sure why that was so difficult to explain, or why the employee was so reluctant to share those details. If she could simply have explained that there was a required deposit, there would have been no need for further explanation, but instead she chose to tell me as little as possible. I would rate the customer service of this location a zero out of ten, save for the courteous gentleman who did the "walk through" of the van and handed me the keys. I will never use uhaul again, and i intend to suggest to everyone i know that they avoid uhaul altogether due to outrageous fees and convoluted policies, and in particular will strongly recommend against this particular uhaul location. ..i hope this location fails and goes out of business.

I drove this truck FOURTEEN miles and when I returned it the gas gauge had not hardly moved yet when I checked out I was charged for 5.5 gallons of gas at the whooping charge of $27.50 !!!!! Are you telling me that your 10 foot trucks only get 2.5 Miles per gallon????? and gas here only runs $3.15 regular unleaded. What a ripoff !!!! I will not be satisfied with your company until this matter is properly addressed.

Older truck - not sure if checked prior to renting. Oil light came on after 1000 miles. Had to refill. Not sure if that was to be expected, but if so a heads up would have been nice. Truck was clean and staff at location were very friendly.

I have moved 17 times in the last 30 years and have used U-haul many times. I have never been harassed by the staff as I was this weekend. My first problem is that when the representative demanded two phone numbers she immediately called them without warning, waking my daughter at 7am on a Sat. If she had mentioned she needed to call, I would have given her the number of someone who would be awake! Second, I called and talked to this representative and informed her that I would probably be late bringing the truck back and discussed rates. I told her if I did not bring it back on time it would be the next day after they opened. At 9am, Maria was calling my daughter 3 times in 45 minutes asking about the truck! It was ridiculous. They have a lot full of trucks at this site and no one was waiting for my tiny truck--AND I had already called that morning!!! While I may use U-haul again, it will definitely NOT be this location.

Make sure that the equipment is properly tested and up to safety codes. The reason I am saying this is because after the car transport was attached at the U-Haul location, the low oil light came on approximately 1 block away from the location. We checked it and the U-Haul was three quarts low on oil. I requested power steering on the U-Haul and didn't receive it. I had to jump the battery after stopping for something to eat. We were about fifty miles from Houston then the rear transport tire blew, and had to be repaired. Also, the rear back tire on the U-Haul was low. These delays caused us to be late on returning a rental vehicle that was also used for our trip and we were charged an extra day in rental fees, which was an additional $150.00.

My truck broke down, obviously a bad experience. The roadside assistance (Uhaul employee - Tom), was truly exceptional in getting me squared away. Full marks for him. That being said I came to Uhaul for a truck, not roadside assistance.

I purchased a UHaul lock at the same location as rental and was told it would fit the truck we rented but after loading the truck that evening the lock would not fit and I had to use a different lock;upon returning the truck the next day I was told since it was open they had to have manager approve but they were out; upon calling back, the manager was out again. We moved to a different town so we will not only need the return for the lock but compensation for our gas now. This has been very frustrating being put off each time. Uhaul should know if their own locks fit their own trucks....sounds fishy to me!

This was my second truck rental from this location in just over six months. The counter reps certainly know their jobs, but are often trying to work with multiple customers at once, and are, consequently multitasking. For the customer who doesn't rent trucks, trailers, etc., on a regular basis, it would be nice to have the reps work with one customer at a time, completing each transaction before moving on to the next. This would certainly make the customer feel more important, and would help ensure accidental "slip-ups" that happen to all of us with excessive multitasking. . . . Agent who reviewed the truck and its features was very pleasant, with a fun sense of humor.

I reserved a motorcycle trailer a month in advance for a long trip. The one on the website that is advertised is a very nice galvanized trailer that is perfect for a large motorcycle. Despite reserving a month in advance, when I arrived to pick it up the only thing available was an antiquated rusted out trailer with a broken tie down and a ramp that was being held on with only one hinge. Since I had no other options and there were no other motorcycle trailer in the area, I reluctantly agreed to take it after being assured by the manager that it was sound. While loading and unloading, the ramp kept falling off and then the tread on its tiny little tires just peeled off during the trip leaving us stranded for three hours on Labor day. This trailer should be limited to hauling cow manure! At a minimum, they should offer a free tetanus shot to anyone handling this rusted out pile of junk!

I was really disappointed with my Uhaul experience on Summer Avenue. I've rented from them several times and have never been treated so poorly before. Customer is definitely not king at Uhaul anymore. I will look elsewhere in the future for my truck rentals.

I drive 35 miles total for move in and have to spend $24.00 for gas to make sure the needle is on full? That is BULLSHIT! I will make it my mission in life to talk about this so you loose business.

Have a manager on duty at all times when open. We had a problem with where the gas line was supposed to be at when bringing the uhaul back. No manager there just a clerk with a bad attitude! Told me it could be 72 hours before they could look at it. So for now I have to pay extra for the gas. I wonder how your other customers feel about this? I'm sure I'm not the only one that's had this problem! Uhaul has gotten a lot of my business. I just feel you could do better than this.
