Honestly, my complaint has little to do with any location but rather the billing practices that U-haul has now put in place. I was renting an enclosed trailer to assist in moving and delivering family heirlooms to all my siblings. From Memphis to Illinois, to Indiana, to North Carolina, to Alabama, then returning to Memphis. I was not prepared to pay for the trailer myself since it was a covered expense for my parents. But, your billing practices would not let me do what I have done in the past. When I went to pay with paypal instead the required holding documents are ridiculous. ending up using my own credit/debit was the only option. So, by not even thinking about using another service, I allowed myself to be in a place where UHaul was my only option. I am now going to be out of monies that I wasn't prepared for until accounting on my parents side can reimburse me. So, you have made it difficult enough for to use your service that I will simply unload and use my own trailer from now on. Sad that it is easier to unload my own trailer of work material, than to go through your standard rental procedure. I guess with the changing world, my preferences and loyalties must change as well. Just not willing to go through that with Uhaul again. Sincerely, Brian Curtis

I did a same day rental reservation with my debit card but didn't clearly see anything about a $120 minimum authorization during the reservation even tho my actual charges were $32 less than that which has to re-embursed nor after choosing the pick up time did I see the end time of the day rate both of which I found out while picking up the vehicle. I reserved pick-up for 10am not knowing I would have to have the truck back by 4pm otherwise I'd have gotten it earlier. Very disappointed in that and this is my first time using U-Haul service/equipment.

I have been a customer at this U-haul location for over a year and have always spoken so highly of it. I've had multiple storage units and have been completely satisfied. Our new home was finally completed this month, which meant it was time to move out of the storage unit. I called two months prior to ask how I should go about terminating my contract. I was told just go tell the people at the desk that I was leaving on any day and everything would be taken care of. I asked if I would receive a pro-rated of my monthly rent payment since I would only be using 6 days of my month's rent. I was told absolutely, just pay my rent in full at the beginning of the month and when I moved out they would refund me what was not used. When I went to move out, I was told they absolutely do not pro-rate and they would not refund me the extra $40.00 that I had paid. I was extremely upset,and they treated me like I was an idiot. I'm sad that this was the way my relationship with U-Haul ended after all the business I have referred to them. I would completely understand their policy had this been the policy that was told to me when I called two months prior.

the day that i rented my trailer it was very hot and the service guy was working by himself. the manger was no help to the employee.this guy did a hell of a job and he was nice all time in this ninety degree weather.he was full of helpful info .the manager is a lazy butt.this guy need a raise .i think he was helpful when i return the trailer he got me out in time for church and thank him for that . the manager need more people working at the end of the month.

Notify your customers about what documentation that is needed when you are paying cash. It set me back 2 hours on packing because I had to go get two other forms of I'd. Your company should of told me I needed three forms of I'd!!!

My experience with the Summer location was good, but overall my experience was completely unsatisfactory. I went to the Germantown location on Wednesday and reserved a trailer to be picked up on Saturday at 4:00 pm. On Saturday at 3:30 pm I called to check with them and they said everything was in order and to come get the trailer. When I arrived they did not have a trailer. They apologized and found a trailer at the Lamar/240 location for me to pick up at 9 am the next morning. Uhaul emailed me a reservation guarantee that evening. When I arrived at the Lamar/240 location at 9 am, the representative told me they did not have a trailer for me. She then proceeded to answer the phone and helped a phone customer for ten minutes while I just stood there. She had absolutely no interest in my unfulfilled reservation. I had to use my phone to call the regional office to find another trailer. I had to drive across town once again to finally get a trailer at the Summer Avenue location. We were 3 hours late getting to our destination because of "guaranteed reservations" that are NOT guaranteed.

The truck 26' truck I drove shook violently when I got above 60mph. They lost my reservation and I didn't even know I was getting a truck til the last minute. I had a reservation for 2 wks.

I requested a 24 hr rental on a truck. I was given a conformation number for the 24 hr rental. When I arrived to pick up the truck, I was told to return the truck in 10 hours. As a result, I was charged for a two day rental when I only used the truck for 24 hours. I don't think it fair to tell a customer he has a 24 hr rental: upon arrival inform his he can only use the truck for 10 hours. This is no way to treat your customers. I feel I have been taken advantaged of. If I book a 24 hr rental I should be entitle to a 24 hr rental

They locked up early (then lied about it) and cursed not at my husband but the overall truck coming in 15 minutes prior to closing. Keep in mind I had 3 children witness an employee throw his hands up and rant and rave. Overall, very poor customer service and employees were not helpful at all!!!!!!!!!! Horrible experience!!!!!

I reserved a truck with mattress pads and when I got there they said they didn't have any to give me because they haven't check them in. I also reserved a 10" truck but was never informed that it didn't have a ramp. The lines were very long and the clerks unhelpful to discuss for options for the products I requested.

I was charged over 150 dollars in overdraft fees because the clerk failed to tell me that my debit card would still be charged even tough I used a second card to complete my rental upon returning the truck. If she would have told me this in the beginning I would have selected a different card. I am really pissed so buyer be alert that if you use you debit card do not change how you complete you transaction.

I have never been more frustrated with a rental experience as I had here. I think I was overcharged and I can't understand why I was I ititially billed for one night when I told them I would be renting it for three nights. I am unlikely to rent from Uhaul next time even though I had a good experience with the truck.

We were given a new truck with only 2771 miles...discovered the truck leaked into the trailer area on arrival. The high/low beam lights are out of adjustment. Told representative on return and his only comment was..."it's a new truck". Did not seem concerned about these to problems.

Pre ordered a truck and trailer for the 14 of July was sent a confirmation email that it would be ready by 8 a.m. as I am walking into the shop I recieved a call saying my truck was ready but the trailer wouldn't be ready till 9:30. They didn't do anything to resolve it. Said they didn't offer the $50 gautanee . I had to sit in the lobby and wait which I lost a whole hour with my movers and over a hundred dollars. Then when I got into the truck to start my 700+ mile journey every service light and check engine light was on, which made me feel safe to take the trip in it.

Please listen when the customer tells you that some part of the equipment malfunctioned. Do not instantly assume the customer broke or damaged the equipment and therefore it didn't work properly. I didn't appreciate being blamed for a truck part failure that I did nothing to contribute to.

Everyone seemed very disorganized, as it took over an hour to get my truck. Also, I was never given a padlock for my truck, as indicated in the contract.
