Absolutely HORRIBLE experience with UHAUL. Will NEVER use this organization again. I will be making a formal complaint through proper channels. Corporate was the worst I've ever seen in a business.

Single worst moving experience of my life because of this Uhaul provider. First, the truck that we received was in such horrible disrepair that the transmission dropped out of it and the rear wheels locked up while going down the highway. By some miracle we managed to get it off the side of the road where we waited for 6 hours in a severe thunderstorm for a tow truck. We managed to get to our destination at 6am after being awake and stranded all night, then had to cancel our movers that were scheduled to show up in 2 hours and then had no one to unload our truck. When our case got passed off 4 or 5 times to people who didn't want to deal with it, finally the manager at the store, Penny called and left a message on my cellphone stating they'd give me $50. I tried calling her back and not only did her employees pretend she wasn't ever in the building each day, but she also refused to answer any of my calls at all, OR even refund the pittance of $50. The level of horrible customer service bordered on criminal, as did the disrepair of the vehicle that nearly killed us on the highway. It has been 5 days we've been waiting now to hear back from someone. We've been promised a call from corporate, from a manager, from Penny and from anyone and no one has done so other than to leave unsatisfactory messages without any possible way to contact them back. Do yourself a favor and rent from Penske.

I picked up the truck on a Sunday morning. Even though the place was packed the staff was very efficient. Once waited on it went very fast. My only comment is the office could be a little larger. That way it wouldn't be so crowded.

The Merrillville store was great compared to the Schererville store on US41. I went to the Merrillville store because the Schererville store was rude and disrespectful. Customer service is seriously lacking in Schererville store. Merrillville Store was great!

If someone picks a location that they would like to pick the truck up from I think you all should have the truck at that location not pick a location for the person and then tell them that's where the truck will be over 20 miles from their house

Rented a defective trailer. Had no night time running light was stopped in Kentucky and told that I would have to stop for the night state trooper pulled me over. Called a told Mr. Boggs about the problem that I had to stay in a hotel and that I needed the trailer checked out. road side assistance arrived and told me that the wiring on the trailer was cut. Call back to let Mr Boggs know and he arranged for me to pick up another trailer the next morning and that I would get a $300.00 dollar load fee if I did the transfer myself which I still have not seen. At this time I would not rent from you all again you do not HONOR your agreements and you cost me one day on my move that was not counted for. If you want to be so concerning and contact me please do.

My only complaints are that it was a little pricey after everything was added up, and that on the website it allowed me to choose a 7PM pickup at a location that actually closed at 6PM, so I had to go to this location instead. Your website shouldn't let people choose places that are closed, especially considering that then adds miles and gas costs. The location I ended up getting the truck from was great though, just unfortunately a bit out of the way.

I am not happy with how everything played out.1st I live in Arizona.. I was moving stuff out of storage in Indiana so I had someone doing it and I was told that there was a 100.00 cash deposit since I was not there to swipe my card. I set my reservation to pick up in Griffith. When scheduling called they said Griffith didn't have a 10 ft. truck.. I asked what size they had m they told me that they only have trailers. I informed the rep that it shows on the site they have trucks and I do not see that is fair. At that time I was told I would have to pick up in Merrillville.(which has now added round trip 14.2 miles which is an extra 16.90 dollars.) The rep at scheduling was rude yes I was frustrated on how everything had played out at this point. the 3rd rep was nice... She told me I could get a cargo van that was closer but I said it would not b big enough for my fridge. She told me that the 10 ft truck I had reserved wouldn't either. NO ONE up to that point had asked me what I was moving. I would of gotten a 10 ft. and it would not of worked for me. My sister got to u haul in Merrillville and even though I was told it had to be cash since I wasn't there they told my sister she had to have her credit card on file. I was not told that. 20.00 had to be put in the take before starting. I have NEVER picked up a rental or rental truck and it was not full!! This reduces the customer from not knowing how much gas to put in when returning. I did get an 18.00 credit but it does not show me how many gal. we over filled the truck by so I don't know how much you gave me back per gal. The last rep I spoke to when I was trying to figure out my bill was rude as well... She wanted to explain as I was asking questions... There's no point in explaining to me when you don't know what questions I have. Then I was put on hold in the middle of talking... she didn't ask me to hold or anything... Next thing I heard was that the call was being recorded and that all reps were busy and they would get to me in the order the calls came in.. My prior call I waiting on hold only to be disconnected when someone finally answered. Both reps that were rude said to me well you just put in for the rental today others book months in advance. My issue was not the truck size it was 1st that a location was advertised as having trucks that didn't and at that point I had to add 14.2 miles to my bill and that no one had asked (till the 3rd rep) what large item I was moving to insure that the truck size would work for my needs. I guess I should of expected service like this from u haul because last Sept. I tried to rent a trailer from the u haul in Schererville In. and the guy told me it would cost me 800.00. At that point I said no and I turned around and walked out. Later to find out that its 300.00 n something of which I would have rented it at the correct price. I think you have A LOT of work to do with your employees!! I cannot say that I would recommend u haul to anyone... I would of r

Get rid of idiots working at you call center the people of MERRILLVILLE uhaul save your asses because the had a truck where as the call center wanted to send me to rodchester Indiana !! Call me we can talk I want a management person from uhaul! But the crew at MERRILLVILLE UHAUL WAS AWESOME I WILL RENT FROM THEM AGAIN!

Pretty simple. Paperwork, quick review of the truck and on the road. Had a 15ft truck and thought l would miss the cruise control, but no problem. Went from Indiana to Texas and the rolling terrain probably wouldn't have been conducive to cruise anyway. Good, safe trip! Thx.
