Truck JH 2746H had a major, life threatening issue and I requested that it be removed from service whe it was returned. When this fully loaded truck was parked on a slight incline, in park with the parking brake on... it rolled towards the second truck when we started to unload it. Had I not left the door unlocked and jumped into it and hit the brake, it would have at the very least crashed into the other uhaul truck I had rented. There were movers unloading that one too at the time, and they didn't hear or see it moving. We put a wheel chock under the tires and finished the move.

Employees very rude, didn't seem to care about the customers. Didn't try to go the extra mile to assist in this stressful time, also contract was wrong, was charged for things I didn't use and they did not update the contract when we came back to return the truck. So our charges are still unknown I used to work for uhaul and I know the level they expect from their employees and this place didn't meet the expectations. Not very happy with this uhaul

I waited for 45 minutes just to return the van I rented. The clerk was alone, first day on the job and seemed to be having problems getting the customer ahead of me taken care of. If it was his first day as he claimed he should have someone there with him. Other than that everything else was good.

We did not choose this Uhaul location. When we went to pick up our rental that we had reserved one week in advance with Ray at the Gilbert location of 1230 N Gilbert Rd, we were told that they over booked and there was no truck for us.The customer service rep (Trevon Orth) was unapologetic and said that we'd have to travel 12 miles out of our way to get a truck at the Country Club/Broadway location in Mesa. This caused us a lot of stress as well as additional mileage of 24 miles to pay for in the end. We had to stand in a long line waiting for our truck which caused us an hour delay in our move, making the people that came to help us sit around waiting for us to return with a truck. I feel like if a reservation is made a week in advance that a truck should be there when a customer comes to pick it up. No one called us or gave us the chance to reserve a truck closer to our moving destination. A pick up location was chosen for us. We will do our best to never use Uhaul or recommend them to anyone. We will also share our stressful story with our friends and family so that no one else has to have a bad experience like we did. This review should reflect the Uhaul center on Gilbert Rd and Houston in Gilbert. They were the ones we made our reservation with and they should have followed through to let us know that we weren't going to have a truck on the morning that we had reserved it for. Overall, we had a terrible experience using Uhaul for our move. Feel free to call me if you have any questions. 480-570-6252

This location is in a scary neighborhood. Site is clean and well maintained but crowded, with limited parking and limited space to maneuver. Didn't feel I could leave my car there overnight 2 nights. I made my reservation a month in advance at another location and am seriously annoyed and inconvenienced by U-Haul's practice of repeatedly not having my reserved vehicle available at the location where I made the reservation. I feel you must be renting out "my" reserved vehicle to some other customer - not first come first served, but giving priority to the customer paying the most.

The van that we were rented was full of Roaches! When we returned it we were informed by the employee that the prior renter returned the van for the same reason. Even though they had already been notified of the issue, this location allowed for the Roach infested van to be re-rented. The employee offered a refund of our rental charges and issued a maintence order for the van. Feeling that the issue had been settled we left. Afterwards a different employee charged us for the rental without our knowledge (at a discounted rate). We then spent the next few days fighting for this to be corrected. We had to contact Customer Service who had a Field Manager contact the Store Manager. The Store Manager tried to fight us for the refund that we were entitled to stating that the discount was given to compensate for the hassle (which he did not believe because they found no Roaches, this of course was because we sprayed the interior of the van ourselves). Finally after several days I went into the store and showed the Store Manager pictures of the Roaches in the van, pictures that I had already showed the employee and notified him of contacting Customer Service, he finally agreed to issue the refund. I reminded him that it is bad business to charge a customer after a full refund had already been promised and issued.

The van I rented had 4000 miles on it, so it was pretty much new. It smelled like cigarette smoke and after about 2 hours of driving it, I had a headache. When I rented it, it did not have a full tank of gas and I know I returned it with more gas than what I started with. I was told if it was returned with less, I would be charged $5.00 a gallon. Why doesn't U-Haul rent their vehicles full?
