The truck ran terribly. Took a long time to start, and was jumping all over the road even when the road was smooth, sort of like the tires were square instead of round. The vehicle had clearly taken quite a bit of abuse in its 150,000 miles. But, it did the trick, and I got back safely. Customer service at this location was exemplary, and I'd recommend them.

UHaul at the BP Station 8699 Veterans Highway Millersville, Maryland 21108 DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION - VERY POOR EQUIPMENT / SERVICE Truck was not well maintained. Ran very rough and there was a problem with the transmission. I rented the U-Haul truck because of the ramp. We needed to move and the ramp was going to be key. I get the truck home, the hired help shows up and are ready to work ($75 per hour) but the ramp does not work. It was off its track. I called the U-Haul rep to try and get another truck brought out but they did not have one. I was advised by the rep to "fix the ramp myself". I thought this was crazy but he tried to talk me through it on the phone. I am in the middle of a move I said and do not have the time to work on "your" equipment. Nevertheless, I gave it a try because there were no other options. So, I spent the next 4 hours working on the ramp. ($75x4 = $300). We had to call of the job for the night until we got another truck or the ramp fixed. Called Uhaul the next morning. No replacement truck available. They did not even attempt to call another location and get a truck brought out. I gave up. Had to move so we went without a ramp. Not having a ramp added an additional few hours to the move ($75 x 6 = $600) Took the truck back to Uhaul and asked the rep what could be done for reimbursment or discount due to the faulty equipment. He gave me a stupid look and said I have to charge your card for the full amount but I will pass along your phone number to the manager who can call you on Monday. Ok, I said and gave him my phone number. Needless to say, I have not recieved a call back. Very disapointed with the whole experience. Still waiting for a call back. I also recieved an email from Uhaul asking for a picture to put on the side of the truck for their latest campaign. I sent them a picture of me fixing their truck with and showing them the middle finger.

The truck didn't start the first try... but beyond that we also had our pick up time changed when someone called us saying there was an error made. But when we called to verify our truck was there before going to pick it up we were informed we were supposed to have picked it up hours earlier and it would be due back in 7 hours rather than having it the recommended 10 hours that we had initially asked for. Granted, we weren't charged an extra day because the rep didn't need the truck back at a certain time like he had said earlier. But... we never got the promised discount for losing four hours of daylight when they pushed back our pick up time to begin with. So we will never be using uhaul in the future.

I made my reservation at the UHaul representative nearest my home. When I received my confirmation it said that I was to pick up the trailer 30 minutes away at another UHaul location. This was acceptable but not what was expected and I received no other communication about the pick up location than my email confirmation. A call might have been appropriate and I'm glad I read the confirmation closely or would have missed this inconvenient change of plans.

Was charged an extra day for being 30mins late. I would understand if I was a couple hours late but I was only 30mins late . I dropped off the truck the night before and only needed to turn the keys in. Total rip off. I even called ahead to inform them I was dropping the keys off when I got off work.

The only negative was original reservation was for Crain Hwy in Glen Burnie, MD and I went there first to be notified that the rental was moved to Millersville. I did not receive any advance notice of the change in location prior to the morning of reservation. Slight inconvenience otherwise an excellent experience. Service at Millersville was fantastic, friendly, and helpful.

The truck that was issued was on its last leg. The cab bounced and shook violently at 55 mph. I had to drive at 40 mph on the highway just to feel like I had control of the vehicle. The sides of the vehicle were scraped and dented. The location for pick up was approximately 10 miles from my location, although there is a U-Haul just a mile down the road. I contacted the customer service desk at the toll-free number and the service rep, who said she was the manager named Sue, was very condescending. She could use a refresher course in customer service. I will do my best to avoid using U-Haul again in the future. The only caveat is that the people working at the story where I picked up the vehicle were customer friendly.

The truck stalled out twice once in major traffic on I-695 the second time it wouldn't start. At one point the gas peddle was to the floor and the truck wouldn't go over 35 mph. This is my second visit to this location and the first time the maintenance of the vehicles was good. This time the maintenace and over all mechanical performance of the vehicle was poor.

My reservation included 3 doz furniture pads. They had none and did not bother to notify me ahead of time. So had to drive out of my way to another Uhaul location to get pads. And then both locations charged me for the pads. Still do not have that sorted out. The truck was old but ran fine. ABS warning light was on most of the time. The inside of the windshield was quite dirty/fogged. Use Uhaul a couple times a year and they still the best value but this experience was a bit disappointing.

Jason offered little explanation for why the amount charged differed from the amount quoted. The truck was dirty causing us to spend an hour sweeping &mopping it while the movers were charging us. The furniture blankets came from the floor of very dirty trailer. The brakes were poor & Jason offered that it was an " old truck" that we would have to drive 250 miles with. His attitude was "Oh we'll, sorry". Dale was upbeat & ambitious in finding this truck for us so we expected a better experience.

The attendent was very rude when we picked up the truck. He did not go with us to inspect it. He sat the ouside and told us to pick it on our way to find the u-tuck that we was to have. He said, the number is on the reciept and look at the number on the paper and truck and find the right truck. He did not even go outside with us. The tire on the out side right rear tire was bauld and no tread and flat. We drove from Maryland to Ohio on that tire. this was becase of no inspection . When last customer turn in truck That day or before we pick it up.
