the young lady that took my first order was very professional and had great customer service - it was a Monday. Then I received a call maybe on a Thursday confirming order and new residence. All went well on the phone. When I picked up on Sunday at 4:00 I had to give all my info again. Young lady said the computer doesn't save so all in all I had to share my info three times. I thought this was poor service by uhauls software system. The pick up ladies did fine. They handled everything professional but did not have that A + customer service. Maybe a B + at the Belt Line Hwy location.

Unbeknownst to me, trailer had a badly damaged axle spring when I picked it up. The left a pring completely failed en route and it took U Haul road service 6-1/2 hours to assess problem and replace equipment. All this in a well populated area with 10+ U Haul dealers within 30 minutes of us. Ridiculous and unacceptable. Poorly maintained equipment and REALLY POOR road service.

UHAUL promises on its website that equipment will be ready and available on the date requested. Yet, while I requested a furniture dolly, none was available for the duration of my truck rental. I rather expect UHAUL would obtain one from their other close locations or provide me one of their "sale models" that were available.

Change the staff. I worked for U-haul prior to this rental, and expected much better treatment than that. I did receive a nice discount from the AFM out of kindness. What I did NOT expect, was that discount would cause me so much trouble. I picked up the equipment from the location on the Beltline in Mobile, where the staff, especially the manager, was EXTREMELY rude! She didn't like how my husband, a CDL driver, was backing up the truck. Perhaps if you didn't have equipment positioned at angles, to make it tighter to hook up the trailer, it wouldn't have been such a difficulty. She waited until he was finished, to say, "Let me just do it! (with her cigarette in hand)" He got out, and she jumped in. Moved it literally 2 centimeters, and got out and was acting like she did it and how easy it was. Then we asked for help on how to load the vehicle on the trailer, as we have never hauled a vehicle before. She was giving attitude the entire time, so I asked her for an instruction pamphlet to read on how to do it. (I know, from working with uhaul, that you are supposed to give those out with every rental) She informed me that it was on my contract. I said I would like to have the instruction manual because I know our AFM always told us to give that out to each customer. She refused and said, "Look! Don't get smart with me!" So I went in the office and found one myself hanging on the wall. We left, fully loaded down, and went to fuel up. When we started pumping gas, it was pouring all down the side of the truck. We called roadside assistance, and waited for 2 hours, to find that he couldn't fix the problem ( a kinked fuel line). We were told either we could change out the equipment, or we could go with it like that, and pump very slowly. It would take much longer to fuel, however, we could keep the same truck. So we had to fuel up 3 times on our trip. It took an hour to fuel each time. Our destination was 7 1/2 hours from where we were, so that would be over 10 hours to get there. In addition, I was told by the CSR that we would receive a partial refund for our time (now 5 hours of additional time considering our wait for roadside assistance) When we returned the truck, I was told to contact the Mobile Customer Service line and they could assist. Now, 4 weeks later, after calling about 4 times per week, and being told every time that the manager, Tony, would call me to give the refund, I was never contacted. I finally called Tony directly. She informed me that because I had received a discount from the AFM out of kindness, they decided that I didn't need a refund. First, a phone call would have been nice. Second, If a discount, which although I am appreciative, only made the price equal to a competitor's original price, was going to cause me so much delay, trouble, and complete HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE MANAGER, TONY, I would have simply declined the offer and chose the other company who was offering me the same price as U-haul's discounted one

The employee who checked me in smoked while he helped me. UHaul has too many sites on their website that list places to drop off equipment. We went to two different address we found on the internet that weren't even in business any longer before we went to this third location and dropped off the trailer.

Please be mindful to notify customers of the many additional fees and taxes. Such as the cleaning fee and tax. I was charged this and we cleaned the truck. Also we were lied to by the rep and told that there had been a drop off time requested by myself and the vehicle was already reserved, which customer service advised me was a lie. Overall experience not good with the amount spent to move 10 minutes to another home.

Told me they would not run my bank card and they bald face lied to me. I told them I was paying with cash last Sunday, and they double charged me, which i'm still dealing with today and it's put me in a major bind. I sell cars at the biggest car dealership in Mobile, AL, that gave U-haul business for adding traler hitches or anything else U-haul could of helped my customer with. You can bet i'll tell all of my customers to use Penske instead of U-haul and also will never send my customers to U-haul for accessories on thier vehicles, i'll instead use a small accessory shop located in Mobile, AL for all of my needs and of my customers needs. I'll also personally give them a discount for using Penske myself out of my own pocket. It's worth it for good service.
