Over a 30 minute wait just to turn in a vehicle on Sunday morning-- One employee working. The remote was inoperable which "they knew" once i turned the keys back in but didn't bother to tell me when i picked up said truck...which meant using the key to unlock and immediately turn engine on to turn off the alarm! Ridiculous.

I arrived a little before 9 a.m. so that I could pick up the truck at my scheduled 9 a.m. appointment and be first in line should there be one. The employee did not arrive until 9:08, at which point she said that we could only come inside after she counted the register, and that it would be 10 more minutes. No apology was made for being late, and that would have gone a long way to improve everyone's mood. There were several people waiting with me for either drop off or pick up. I finally got in the building around 9:15, only to find that the trucks from the previous night had to be checked in prior to me getting the truck I rented. It was 9:40 before I even got outside to the truck. The truck could barely start. It took several tries before the engine caught. The truck felt dirty, though there was no trash in it. The wheel was in bad shape (covering falling apart from heat exposure). I didn't notice until I got to my house that there were pads and a handtruck that I didn't ask for taking up space in the back. Of course they were zip tied, which I assume meant that if I used them I would be charged (though of course no one explained this to me). The person was courteous for the most part though obviously not excited about having a line of people waiting for her when she was arriving late, but when you have 5 people scheduled to pick up or drop off trucks at 9 a.m. on a Sunday, one person is not enough staff. Even if she was on time there was no way she could've gotten the truck to me on time. The delay caused major problems with my move. I can understand being within 10 min. of a scheduled pickup, but not being 40-45 minutes late. I feel bad for the people behind me who also had 9 a.m. pickups that had to get their truck even later than me. And I feel bad for the employee that morning too - anyone could feel daunted by what was going on that morning. Things would only have gone moderately smoothly with a person that had arrived at least an hour prior to 9a.m. to check in the returned trucks, count the cash bin, and open the doors on schedule. Even then, some people would have had to wait unless there was a 2nd person handling the walkouts to the truck. Truck return was much more smooth. The person handling that was really courteous and the process was speedy.

I made a reservation and my reservation was not honor. My reservation truck size was given to one of the manager friend or associated. That wasn't fair to me at all. Then when I return with the truck, I put the right amount of gas back in the truck that was in there at first. The lady came out in check the gas gauge in told me it was not enough gas in the truck. I had to go and put $20.00 more in the truck. So I end up going over my estimated milage. Then I return the truck had too much gas in it. Then the clerk said the gas gauge must be broken. Then turn around I had to still pay for the over milage in the truck for the clerk mistake. My experience was awful.

It makes it very difficult to plan for a move when you don't get the call to find out where to pick up your truck until the day before and this time it was late afternoon and would have been even later but I kept calling. There needs to be a way to find out 2 days before or if it is only 1 day at least first thing in the morning. If I needed to get a room because of the pick up location I probably couldn't have. Need more organization.

Terrible experience...first location uhaul had me scheduled to pick up did not have the equipment. After waiting 1 hour for a uhaul representative to call me back...I called uhaul again to try to speed up the process. It was my moving day and this had me running behind. Finally I was sent to this location to pick up my equipment. Upon arrival I was told I was not allowed to drop this equipment off at another location, even though that was what I had originally reserved. Another call to uhaul finally got this resolved. Terrible experience... A move is stressful enough without this added drama.

We ordered a 6' X 12' to be ready at 12:30 for a move. We called to confirm and were told the trailer was ready to be picked up. When we went to the Uhaul at East Blvd the service guy took 30 minutes to tell us that the trailer was not even on the lot We had to go to another Uhaul location and get an open bed trailer since there were none available elsewhere. This made us about 1.5 hours late. The second location was very helpful (Mobile Highway) The sales rep told me that we should have a $50 refund coming since the original Uhaul was not at the reserved location. Very poor service at the Eastern Blvd Montgomery location.

Thought I would try u haul as it is a big name and see trucks/tailers all the time so I did. I moved from AL to IL and it was a horrible experience with u haul. I didn't have a hitch on my car and needed a trailer so I called and made a reservation. The lady said it would take a hour and a half to put the hitch on. More than I though but I said ok and took it in at 830. Then when I arrived at the first place she told me it would take 3 hours to put on because the store was busy. Once again needed it put on so I said ok. Three hours later she called to inform me she didn't even get to start and that I would have to take it to another location, mobile location, so I did. She was very nice and apologized multiple times. So at the next place they also told me it would take 3 hours and it would be done by 3:30 and that they would call. So 4:30 came and still no call so the lady came and said he might be having trouble so that we would go over there to help and wait for him to finish. Didn't get the hitch on and leave until 7 exactly. A job that is supposed to take a hour and a half took almost 11 hours.. Took a whole day out of my travel.. Horrible horrible horrible. So disappointed in such a big name company.. I understand there are bad days but jeez. And he didn't offer me any kind of discount but the lady from the other store did to help. So disappointed.

Road side assistance sucks, take to long to do anything. The uhual need to be oil down/up because the uplift doors get stuck. The employees are very inconsiderate and unprofessional!

Because the employees do not have the same information. Therefore, when you expect one thing it's not what you were told....To much confusion and employees need to be on the same page. The option where I have to select your insurance is a RIP-OFF. A $30.00 truck ends up costing me $70.00. Next time I will go to Pensky like someone told me to in the beginning.

When I came in to return the truck I had to wait 45 minutes before I was helped. There was only 1 employee working and this is unacceptable. He was nice and did his best but there is no need to make people wait this long. Time is money. My company charges 200 dollars a hour for my services so I lost about 100 dollars waiting which is wrong. This is a management issue that needs to be addressed and also reflects poorly on U-Haul. maybe I should take my business elsewhere?

I am very disappointed with the service I received from U-Haul. I will never use or recommend this company to anyone I know in the future. The only bright side of this experience was Debbie (an employee at the Mobile Hwy location I was redirected to after my truck was not available at the location and I did not receive a courtesy call telling me this important information!!!!) she went above and beyond to help me in my time of frustration. But I will never, ever, ever use U-Haul again.

The customer service was rather poor. Both employees on location did not appear to want to be there at all, and while they handled the contract efficiently, there was no effort being put forth to be pleasant. Also, I will most likely never use U-Haul again, as I reserved a 26 foot truck, and only received a 20 foot truck. Not only was this truck too small, but when I called U-Haul about this problem, all they could do was get me a trailer, which they then made me pay for. The trailer rental cost more than the difference between the 20 foot truck and the 26 foot truck! Not to mention I also had to purchase additional coverage on the trailer. If I had received the truck I reserved, I would have had the space that I needed, and paid about 70 dollars less! Ridiculous experience as far as I am concerned.

The 24' truck tranmissiom was slipping and we'll as the door wouldn't open on the drivers side only from the inside but not the out side. The costumer service was very unprofessional as well as not very knowledgeable of the job.
