I believe the gentleman that helped me this morning was named Cass, and he was awesome! He answered every single question we had and knew his stuff! Aside from the awesome customer service the only thing I didn't like is the pricing. We've been coming to this location forever and it sucks that I had to be almost $80 to use a van for about 2 hours.

First off, I paid for door-to-door delivery of a Ubox, at least that's what I was told when I paid. But when I spoke to this Uhaul location they told me they don't deliver Uboxes, and I would need to pay an additional $300+ in order to have my box delivered for the final 3.5 miles of its over 400 mile journey. This is asinine. So instead I rented a truck and trailer, and delivered the Ubox myself. When I reached my location and unwrapped the box, I saw that at some point during transit someone irreparably smashed my padlock. I couldn't even get into the box. I called customer service and roadside assistance, both gave me the runaround before finally telling me I was out of luck and would have to call a locksmith. Supremely bad customer service. You broke my lock, and I was stuck with the headache and bills. All of this came after being billed TWICE by Uhaul for the original moving service, totaling a $1900+ bill to my credit card, which luckily just barely missed overdrawing my card. It took 6 phone calls with Customer service and my bank, as well as 4 days, before that mistake was corrected. Overall this Uhaul experience has been frustrating, shoddy, overpriced, and generally unpleasant. At this point I just hope I don't ever have to use any of your services again.

When I returned the vehicle, I was told that I don't need to worry that I'll get the receipt via email. I showed and offered a receipt from a gas station where I filled in the gas. I paid more than $8 at $2.39 at Alliance gas station 1 mile away, i.e. filled in ~3.35 gallons. The receipt you mailed me shows that I drove 9.9 miles and you charged me for 1.9 gallons. According to you, your vehicle needed 5.25 gallons for 9.9 miles, i.e. its mileage is 1.88 miles per gallon. Suppose that I'm lying and didn't fill in any gas. Then your mileage is 5.2 miles per gallon. Time to trash your cars. Next time I'll insist on you checking the tank at the start and won't leave until you check it when I return it. Highway robbery. Are the $7.50 you overcharged me worth the damage to the U-Haul brand?

I used it only for 6 miles and they've added 3.3 gallons for gas because the marked the fuel gauge incorrectly when they gave it to me

We used the van for 20 miles but were charged for 210 miles. The location people were not immediately helpful and have asked to get back tomorrow. This is just ridiculous. I didn't even keep the van for long enough to drive 210 miles. If this is not resolved quickly, I will never use this location and make sure Yelp knows about state of affairs.

I booked my trailer a week ahead of time in person at the Sunnyvale location and was quoted a price verbally. The day before I was to pick it up, I received a text message saying a different, larger trailer was ready for pickup at the Mountain View location. I called to follow-up and was told by James that the size I needed was not available and I would get the next size larger for no charge. I would, however, have to go to the Mountain View location to get it. I wish someone would have called and told me about the change instead of just sending a vague text that I had to follow up on. When I went to go pick up the trailer in Mountain View, the clerk gave me a price that was over 200 dollars more than I was told the week before in Sunnyvale. I explained the situation to him and he got the manager. The store was very busy and the manager simply blew me off, saying I would have to call the corporate office and get the difference refunded after my move. Like most people that are moving, I was on a schedule and did not have time to pursue the matter. I paid the rental fee and proceeded with my move. Not only did I pay more than I had expected, but having to use a larger trailer cost me quite a bit in lost fuel economy during my 1800 mile trip. I should have gotten my rental quote IN WRITING, but this kind of pricing policy seems like abuse of uhaul's lack of competition.

One tire had a nail in it and only 6psi pressure. I realized this only after loading the trailer. Roadside Assistance replaced the tire with 1 1/2 hours. But clearly no one is checking the trailers before sending them out.

The employees could benefit from greater understanding of cargo spacing when recommending vehicles to customers. I chose to trust the manager when he informed me that the cargo van would fit a queen sized bed standing on its side. With this information, I decided upon the cargo van and soon learned the vehicle was about 8" too short to fit a mattress as such and barely fits even lying down, nearly derailing our entire moving process. We were able to make it work, but could have saved ourselves a good deal of time and anxiety if we had been provided correct information.

truck was fine but had 3 dollies and several furniture blankets in it. Also some some debris from the previous people. No big deal and we ended up using the appliance dolly so worked out but some might have been upset. (we did end up leaving two of the dollies home when getting our stuff so we wouldn't have to deal with them. luckily, we had a place to put them.
