We picked up a truck on Saturday morning in the latter part of August. During this time, many students are also moving. Only one person was working behind the counter to process the paperwork to get people their rentals. She did a fantastic job, being the only person working on a Saturday morning !! She should have been paid 2.5 times her salary that day. The management should have anticipated a heavy customer volume that morning and staffed more appropriately. The line to pick up our reserved truck lasted 50 minutes. Come on! Saturday morning in late August so close to Yale. It doesn't take a genious to figure out that rental volumes for moving trucks will be high. Again - the one woman working behind the counter was quick and focused and should be given a bonus.

The clerk at the desk was excellent, however the person who appeared to be a manager was out of sorts and rude. It took me 30 minutes to get the 14' truck, because when I checked the mileage before leaving the odometer showed 30miles more than the contract. My entire trip was about 35 miles so this would have doubled my mileage cost. 6 Blankets in a pouch & a dolly are automatically in the truck and the customer is charged when the security strap is broken. When I broke the Blanket strap I found 4 blankets stuffed in the pouch with a plastic wrapping underneath. I called Uhaul corp. as soon as I realized and told them I would not pay for 2 missing blankets. I avoid using Uhaul blankets because another location claimed I had a blanket missing and charged me $25.00. So between the mileage error & the blanket error I could have doubled my entire rental bill. To top it off, I forgot my Garmin in the cab. I promptly called (twice) trying to find out if they had it in lost & found, and Uhaul corp answering took messages and said someone would call me back. They never did so I stopped in today. One of the workers was outside when I arrived and checked the lost and found, did not find it and suggested I ask at the front desk. When I did, the same clerk was pleasant and said they only keep items a couple of days, so I said I had called twice the days after dropping the truck. The same rude manager cut off the clerk and said it would have been thrown away and asked who said they save things. " If we save everything people leave.....". I quickly left without another word. Unfortunately I did not have the Garmin locked, so if someone shows up at my home for mischief I'll know where to send the police.

Even though I had a reservation, I waited in line for about 2 hours in order to pickup my truck. I was supposed to pick it up at 9:00 am, but ended up waiting in line for an extraordinary and unacceptable amount of time. I ended up having to reschedule a moving appointment that I had twice. There was only one worker at the counter, and there should have been several because it was a busy weekend. The only good part of the experience was that the lady who helped me was very fast and that the truck was extremely clean, but waiting in line for 2 hours results in a poor rating.

This was potentially the worst rental experience I have ever had, entirely due to terrible after-rental treatment. I left two small throw pillows in the cargo van after returning the van. I called up two days later when I realised the mistake. The manager recalled the throw cushions and informed me that they would have been "thrown out". Aside from the fact that it is entirely implausible that someone would throw out two brand new throw cushions (they were clearly stolen by a member of staff), I can not understand why U-haul insist on taking the phone number of the renter if they do not even use it to call up the client when they find things have been left inside the van. This kind of disregard for the possessions of their customers is shameful. I firmly believe that U-haul staff just keep the lost items for themselves under the pretence that they were not found, or worse still, are "thrown out" in less than 48h. This is terrible customer service.

i had an appoingment for 10:15. there was a line out the door when i arrived, and one person at the desk. i didnt get my truck until 11:37. i was told i had to park my car in a neighboring lot - which is in an unsafe neighborhood, so i had to call a friend to come pick my car up. i dont understand why i had to make an appointment - the week all of the colleges were moving back in - but Uhaul didnt staff the desk for all of those appointments?! I had people waiting at my house to help with my move - it really inconvienienced a lot of people.

The manager was disparaging of customers and changed my reservation without an explanation. (I shouted at the customer in front me.) The manager stated forcefully that he was the manager and he makes the rules and my reservation was subject to his whim. I am not impressed and suggest he be removed from his post immediately. It is obvious that the manager has a Napolean Complex and needs to be reminded that he works for UHAUL and works for the needs of customers. With his management style, expect a higher than normal turnover rate amongst employees. Fire or demote him. Disciplinary action is needs toward the manager.

I had a very negative experience at this location and will make alternate arrangements in the future for my moving needs. I visited this store to pick up a cargo van for a 1pm pick up. After waiting in line for 45 minutes, I was already 30 minutes past my 1 pm pick up time. As Uhaul has advertised its "reservation guanratee" policy quite gaudily in the store, I asked the sales representative if it would apply to our now half an hour late reservation. He directed me to the manager of the store who instead of listening to my inquiry abrasively said "I'm not giving you your fifty dollars." I said that the sign mentioned that it guanteed not only equipment availablility but also timeliness of equipment. He replied that "I don't make the signs" and that that's what "the president told me." I said that it was false advertising and he said he agreed but didn't care. I was so put off by this interaction that I fully intend on speaking to the regional manager about his conduct. After waiting patientily and politely inquiring about a widely advertised company policy, I did not deserve to have my inquiry met with such disregard and disrespect.

The place was so full of rentals that I had to wait a 1/2 hr before space was available to place the trailer. I should have just left it in the lot and let your people fiigure out how to get it to where it needed to be. the rental agent was very nice, but I should not have had to wai tthat long.

I could not find an adapter for my wiring harness in your selection and had to rent a truck instead of the trailer I wanted. Very disappointed in that. The manager was extremely helpful through the process and went above and beyond, was not his fault the wiring couldn't be worked out.

I had reserved the van for Orange, CT. Was upset that I had to go to New Haven to pick it up and did not know that till the day before. That put on 10 extra miles for my trip and then at the end was over by 2 miles and had to pay
