let me first start by how rude and un-professional the manager was. We arrived at 7am to pick up our truck, we were told that I had to have the truck back at 1pm due to it being booked. When I reserved it online I reserved for all day, knowing I had a 5bedroom home to move. I asked if they had ANY other truck that wasn't reserved all day, was told NO that every single truck was reserved and this is what I reserved anyway and had to keep it. She was very rude and NOT helpful at all. once we got the truck we didn't have a dolly or anything thing the truck was to have in it. we were already at the house and NOW on a tight deadline to get things moved since the truck needed back by 1pm. Our son is moving in a few weeks and reserved a truck by you, once of hearing our story he has canceled. I will NOT refer you to anyone and I will make sure I let everyone know just how bad this experience was. This was my second time using this site and both times had a horrible experience. NEVER again.

The location, and staff at this location is great. The Uhaul scheduling system is in need of a huge undertaking. Was scheduled for a hitch to be placed on my car at this location (not by employees of this store... by Uhaul customer service) and when I arrived, was told the mechanic was on vacation. Called customer service, and was told... "What can I do about it?" The problem is that the Uhaul call center is not connected to the stores providing service. This leaves customers feeling stranded, inconvenienced, and frustrated. Had it not been for the Uhaul President Dean Willnotprintlastname... my experience would have been a complete fail. Thank you, Dean.

Agent stated vehicle was full but actually had less that 3/4 of a tank of fuel. This matters when the rental agreement states you are responsible for fuel costing 5.00 a gallon. :(

To Whom it May Concern I am emailing to express my concerns with my experience with U-Haul this past weekend on August 1 and 2. ON Friday , July 25, 2014, my wife and i drove to Ohio Rental located in Mount Vernon, Ohio, from Fredericktown, Ohio, to reserve a 20' U-Haul truck to move my son to Vermilion, Ohio. Everything went smooth and the people there were very friendly and had us all set. They had told us we could pick the truck up on Friday, August 1 at 5:00 pm and would have to turn it in on Saturday at Vermilion area the following day at 5:00 pm. We agreed that allotted a perfect amount of time. On Wednesday, July 30 we receilved a call from Ohio Rental that we could not pick truck up until Saturday August 2 at 9:00 am. This kind of put us in a pinch since we had made plans and needed to get my son in Vermilion the morning of August 2nd due to people he was renting off of set their time to be there to open place up for us. We had to try and arrange different plans to receive the truck at 9:00 Saturday. I felt I better call the day before pick up which was Friday August 1 to make sure we were set on time to get truck from Ohio Rental in Mount Vernon. When I called at 9:39 am they told me my pick up was going to be in Newark, Ohio, which was a 45 min to an hour drive from where we live.This was going to be way out of our way in the opposite direction and was really going to put us in a pinch to get to Vermillion on time we had set with my son's landlords. Why would I go to Newark Ohio to rent a truck when I could go to Mount Vernon that is 10 to 15 min drive where it was more convenient ? I had then asked if I had shown up on August 2 if the truck might not even be there, to which they replied that was a strong possibility. They then gave me a number to call to find out for sure where I was suppose to pick up the truck. So at 9:48 am on Friday , August 1, I called 1-800-282-8575 and asked where and when I was supposed to pick up the truck I had reserved. They told me 9:00 am August 1 and had to have it back at 9:00 am August 2. We needed it August 2 and I told them the inconvenience this all was being for us. The extra 45 min to an hour out of our way and the time we had to get my son moved. They told me will we were real busy the first of the month with all the kids going back to school. Great answer when I had a truck already reserved a week ahead of time. I did all the right things to have a truck when I wanted. They still had me go to Newark , but let me get it on Friday, August 1 and get it back on August 2 in Vermilion area before 5:00 pm . Now it was still out of my way but I had no choice but to go to Newark because who was going to rent me a truck. They gave me an extra 28 miles. After the hassle I was put through , I was still not receiving compensation for the gas or time spent to simply rent a truck. We went to Newark and people there set us up. We had requested a 20' moving truck and were down to receive a 26' truck. Obviousl

Your service rep was very rude and arguementive... we had a discount thst should have been applied but wasnt.. instead alll she wanted to do was argue with us.. and refused MANY times to give the discount that was approved thru corporate. She had a very hateful and disgruntal attitude from the first noment we saw her which contined thru the next day when we returned the uhaul. The location was very good and so was the inside. The only thing I would change is removing this service rep. She not only was quite hateful to us, she had the same attitude toward other customers that she waited on as well.....

I would like to send in a compliment to stephanie at the newark 21st u haul location. I believe stephanie was the manager. Stephanie was very professional and polite. A problem arrose and stephanie corrected it in a very satisfactorily manner. From this experience with her I will continue to use this location and recommend it to family and friends. When I arrived to purchase packing supplies there were two employees working. One employee was helping a customer but the other employee was just sitting at the register doing nothing. He offered no help and when I purchased the glass pack he did not tell me that the box was not included in the pack. So, it wasn't until I was at home and had my antique glasses set out on a table for packing that I saw that the box was not included although it states on the description that it is included. I called the store and was told that "it happened all the time" and that they would give me the box if I came to pick it up. Well, of course they need to give me the box - I bought it! They should have given it to me when I purchased it. I explained that the drive was 30 minutes away and that I had a team of people packing the house up and could not leave. They never apologized, would not bring the box to me, and would not offer any compensation. The manager said she would call back and never did. I left several messages and never got a call to even apologize for their error. This was a major inconvenience to me and they did not even offer to refund the price of the box. Both the person at the U-Haul store and the movers said that they do this all of the time yet they do not care and do not ensure that the mistake doesn't happen again. Another big problem was the fact that we needed to rent a trailer in addition to the 26" truck although I described what we needed to load and was told that we would have plenty of room. When I called the on-line number to rent the trailer I was told that we could pull it on our Honda Pilot. We told him that we had a hitch but did not have the electrical hooked up so we could not control the lights. The online sales person told me that we did not need it because the trailer lights operated by traction sensor and would go on when they sensed that the car was slowing down. So, my husband drove to the U-Haul location with the Pilot to be told by the U-Haul people there that the on-line sales person was completely wrong and that we had to pull it with the truck. So, he had to go all the way back home, get the truck, go back to U-Haul and come back home again after the trailer was connected. In the meantime, we had to pay the movers $90/hour to sit around for almost two hours while he tried to get the trailer. This $180 additional expense, along with our wasted time and gas spent should not have happened at all had the original quote been accurate and the on-line sales person knew that the Pilot could not be used. The experience with U-Haul was terrible.
