We had a reservation but it still took the location 4 hours to put the correct u box on the trailer and attach it to the rental truck. An email complaint was submitted to the manager, Luis, and was never answered.

I made a reservation for a 17 foot truck to be picked up at the Chatsworth location. Not only did U-haul not give me the size truck I needed ( gave me 14 foot), they changed pick up locations to a place 20 minutes away from my home. When you make a reservation, it is not guaranteed you will get what you have already paid for. I will have to figure out a way to move the rest of my things on my own. I would not recommend using U-haul.

Get rid of the illegal workers that hang out on the sidewalk, inside the lot, and INSIDE THE STORAGE FACILITY when someone hires them and lets them in to do work; they take advantage and just loiter, which I find to be a HUGE SECURITY RISK. Employees should call the police to force these people to leave, especially if they're on your property and not on the sidewalk. Consider hiring a security guard from a reputable security company to get rid of them and STOP CUSTOMERS FROM ILLEGALLY HIRING THEM. It's dangerous to me, my items in storage and to other customers. When I complained to your on-site employee Danny today he said he would take care of it but I noticed they were still on the lot half an hour later, even after I suggested he call a patrol car to get them off of U-Haul property.

When we made our reservation #81563458, we thought the truck will be located nearby Woodland Hills as the reservation was made. But we got bumped out that location to a 2nd location the day before the event. And more amazingly, at the day of the event, we got bumped to a 3rd location in Northridge, where it took us 30 minutes one-way to get the truck. I called U-Haul to ask if we can drop the truck back at the original location in Woodland Hills and was told that since I took the $50 credit, we have to bring the truck back to the Northridge location. I told the person in the U-Haul regional office that I don't want that $50 credit. But the staff insisted that the deal was done and nothing can be changed. Since this whole thing was caused by U-Haul, I strongly believe it should offer flexibility for the customer, either to take the $50 credit or to return the truck to the location of customer's choice (it's within 10 miles). By the way, the truck was overheated and blew the radiator on 101 freeway.

More training of your staff with rigging a trailer to a car. Once we loaded our rental trailer, the front of the trailer was dragging on the ground. We had to unload the trailer take out the hitch undo the ball reverse it to the other side of the hitch to get about 6 more inches of clearance so the chains and hitch did not touch the ground on uneven pavement.

The clerk was exceptional if it wasn't for her knowing how to handle me stressed out for moving I would of has a harder day she saved me everything went smoothly. The young man who greeted me on return was also exceptional thank you and I would highly recommend this location again sincerely .

Keep the undocumented workers off your property and don't allow them to approach customers, I felt uncomfortable and will not rent from your location if they are on your property near the front door.

The wait is always long at this location, my papers indicated a half tank when it was noticably under 1/2. I corrected this error w/staff, drove the vehicle 3 miles, added a gallon of gas, returned it on time (12:30am), checked my final billing the next morning and was charged 28 dollars for gas! I called the number, explained the situation and a guy said he just emailed 3 staff at that location informing them of the situation and directing them to contact me. Almost 24 hrs later...still no contact from anyone. In addition, I was told the truck was available for a 12 hour rental yet I was still charged the 24 hour rate. Shouldn't there have been some discount associated to the 12 hrs that I did not possess the truck? The entire experience sucked.

The 26' truck rented was an absolute disaster. The driver door didn't open properly so I had to keep exiting the passenger side. Even the passenger side was not working well either. The truck struggled to start. I would have to turn the key 2-3 times to start it. The battery died and overall the truck was old and seemed to be on its last leg. I didn't feel safe at all. The manager credited our bill so that was the only positive. Other than that this experience was really bad.

I was in on the nov 8, 14 around 3:00 pm . There was only one person on the lot he was overwhelmed with customers returning an renting trucks and trailers. He was pleasant to everyone. And was able to make everyone happy even though they had to wait, he was hard working never stopped and remained pleasant. I have been renting at this lot for years never have I been treated so well when a person was under pressure. This young man is a person that should be in charge. There also was a young lady working inside that was completely under control and handled herself. Equally as well as the young man outside. These two need to be in a higher position. If I were not retired and still at my former company I would hire them away from U-haul , If I were management I would take a closer look at these young people there are few of them around that could run a business the way the company would like

For the second time in 4 years (consecutive moves) U-Haul has screwed me. Four years ago I had a trailer reserved but when I went to pick it up, I was told that there was no one there to install the light hook ups. I had to move my stuff with a pickup truck (including a frig). Now 4 years later I reserve a truck at a different location due to what happen 4 years ago. I still got screwed again. This time my reservation was for 9am but I was running late when Andrew from Lock Stock and Ship called me about 10am to see if I was still picking up the truck. I said yes and asked what time they closed. He said 1pm and I responded that I would be there way before then. At 11.30am I was on my way when Andrew called me again and said my reservation was cancelled when I didn't pick it up within an hour of my reservation time and he couldn't override the cancellation in his computer. I am not an idiot. Even if my reservation was cancelled, that doesn't mean the truck vanished into thin air. My truck should have still been there. I asked Andrew why he didn't tell me that my reservation was cancelled when he called me earlier but he refused to answer my question and just keep repeating that there was a 10' truck on hold at the location that screwed me 4 years earlier. I reserved a 14' truck for a reason. I couldn't fit all my stuff in the 10' truck and I was moving 20 miles so I certainly wasn't going to make two trips at your ridiculous rate of .99 cents per mile. Also I needed a ramp, to move the same frig, and the 10' truck doesn't come with a ramp. I had to finish my move with my car. Please show me where in U-Haul's policy that a reservation is cancelled if not pickup within an hour of the reservation time. In addition, don't send a coupon for boxes that expires in a year like you did four years ago. It is a worthless coupon and a worthless gesture.
