Reserved the small truck at 8 am for a 12pm pick up. When I arrived the previous user had not brought their Uhaul truck (the one I apparently reserved) back on time. I needed to move promptly so the Uhaul staff member gave me a van instead. Instead of being able to fit all my furniture in one trip, it took two. Luckily I wasn't moving far. I just wanted to explain how this could have become a huge inconvenience if I was more time constricted and had to move a further distance. Uhaul shouldn't overbook like you did to me in this case, because obviously customers are not punctual. You may fine them or give them some kind of consequence for not being on time with their drop-off but this helps me in no way. We should receive some kind of discount. Other than that, the equipment and service was GREAT, and I do understand that you can't control your customers actions.

The location was convenient, but the experience was just average. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to recommend this location.

A/C barely worked in the cargo van. Even on high speed, it didn't blow much air. Stayed warm in the van even with the air on max. The passenger sideview mirror was cracked and had some type of tape holding it together.

I rented a uhaul cargo van and put 8 miles on it. Uhaul website states the van gets 16mpg. I didn't bother stopping for gas to refuel since I only used a 1/2 gallon. Got my final bill and was charged $10 for 2 gallons of gas. How is it possible that I used 2 gallons of gas only going 8 miles and never leaving the truck running or idling. I feel I was ripped off but didn't want to deal with the headache of calling the 13st location and arguing about it. I do not like what happened and the $10 gas charge for only putting 8 miles on the truck. Very disappointed.

By far the worst uhaul experience I've ever had. I waited 20 mins in the lobby at my appt. time (12 noon) alone. Multiple people came in while I was waiting and just left. When I was finally met by an employee I was treated unprofessionally and told that I wouldn't be able to rent with out a second telephone number. I rent from uhaul every weekend in the fall and I've never given a second number. I don't have one. The "manager" was extremely unprofessional after explaining to him that I didn't have an alternate number to give. Finally they gave me a van that they could not find the key to. I then waited outside for 10 mins waiting for them to give me another van that was not cleaned. It had trash in it and at that point I was late for my next appointment due to the incompetence of the staff at this location. The entire store needs training and professional operational review.

On Tuesday September 2 I rented a 14' truck and it had a bad transmission also the right rear tire had a rip in it I had to contact roadside assistance and waited over an hour which put me behind schedule and caused me more money, when I returned the truck and explained what was wrong with the truck I was told that I would be contacted and we would come to some reimbursement agreement no one has contacted me yet

I rented a U Haul Truck and storage unit last week and was very displeased with my experience. I regret to have to enter a formal complaint here. First, the elevator was broken in the storage facility. This made it impossible to get to my unit after staff hours, even though I purchased a 24 hour access unit. Because of this glitch, I could not complete my move from home to storage in 1 day and was forced to leave my belongings in the truck overnight in a paid parking lot. Though I was able to re-rent the truck the next day, I was not given any compensation for my troubles. This was very stressful. I finished loading my belongings into U Haul storage just before the location office closed again the following day. This was not because we did not leave ample time, but yet again the elevator, that was up and "running" again, took about 15-20 minutes/ trip. When we finished, we had about 2 minutes to return the truck keys, but the staff had already locked the front stairwell and we found ourselves trapped within, with no way out of the building. This was a very frustrating and dangerous situation to be put in as a paying customer. When we were finally let out after I found an alarm system and set off the alert, we were rushed out of the building. I wasn't even given the change to return the truck keys and speak to a representative in person. I moved the truck from the loading dock to the parking lot in front of the store. It was then, as an employee was leaving, that he had words of advice for me, "I hope you filed up the gas, because they'll charge you $30 if you don't". His tone was flagrant and rude and he had no idea that my total trip was under 5 miles, even with all the unplanned driving I had to do to park the truck. At this point, I had given up on customer service and felt completely underserved. Not only was my account mismanaged, but I wish I had gone with another storage provider. Finally, there is a thermometer that alerts the facility managers whether the temperature is regulated and it was in the red zone. I alerted the staff and they did not seem concerned. I would like to again bring this to your attention, because I would like to ensure that there is no mold/ moisture damage. I hope my experience improves conditions for your future customers. At this juncture, I will not be a return customer and will not be recommending your services to anyone I know.

I put "Above average" as a synonym for "Good", but, strictly speaking, I cannot answer this question, given that I don't really know what the average quality for a U-Haul location is.

Call customers back when they have a problem and not give them the run around. Also not charge customers a fee to fill the tank for 2 gallons of gas.

Location is very sketchy, I was harassed by a man on the street in front of the building. This was not uhauls fault but uncomfortable none the less. Pickup of my vehicle was quick and painless. No complaints there at all. Truck was clean and had no issues. So far so good. But I got home and received my receipt via email and was surprised to see I was charged for a big refueling charge. Now I only drove the truck 13 total miles and decided to put $10 (apox 3 gallons) of gas in it before I returned it to the facility. So clearly I was surprised when I had the refueling charge which charged me for another 3.5 gallons of fuel. I can't imagine I used more than a gallon or so, but paid for 6.5 gallons. I'm not sure how a mistake like this happens. The rep from the store was also not very understanding and eventually hung up on me after I informed him that I thought he made an error. Avoid this place and use Budget a few blocks away.

Make sure the employees are doing an inspection before it goes out and when it comes back in. There was no inspection when I returned it; I was erroneously charged for a damage that existed when I picked up the truck. They were helpful and removed the charge, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

I had a four hour rental, but the parking meters near the branch only let you park for two hours, so I was afraid the whole time I would get a ticket. The truck was painted with graffiti, and the area was populated with unemployed men, so I could not recommend the place.

All of the vehicles are scuffed up and have grafitti, etc. all over them. The person who was checking me out acted like I was bothering him???? And it's right next to a homeless shelter type of place and all of the people were outside and making inappropriate sexual comments at me while I went in and out of the uhaul place.

We were told we could move in anytime during the 24 hour period. Upon arrival, (less than 3 hours later) we were told we were not allowed to move anything in because the freight elevator was closed, and that a $10 surcharge was required for 24 hour access. We showed up the following morning and were told that the freight elevator was still malfunctioning, so we parked on the east end of the building where the elevator (which all floors are supposedly locked at all times, due to security) had very limited space. Upon bringing our first load to our assigned storage area, we were informed that the freight elevator was actually working. We then moved our moving van to the loading dock to load everything into the freight elevator side of the building (north side). The freight elevator continued to malfunction while we tried to load our personal items to the storage unit and we were only able to get two loads up the elevator. Then the fright elevator stopped working. We were then told to page the front desk to let them know that the freight elevator was malfunctioning, but the paging system did not work. Upon seeking out an employee to inform them that the freight elevator was again not working, we were told they were going to address the issue right away. Instead we waited around for at least 45 minutes before we were told that the freight elevator was closed, and not by an employee, but another customer! By that time at least three carts were loaded with all of our personal belongings and so we had to do a dramatic transfer over a 2 foot drop to get our belongings loaded onto carts that were then loaded onto other carts because there was another one foot drop to the elevator floor we originally were convined too (Again, getting an employee to unlock the 'emergency' door). On top of that, this particular elevator opened to the part of the floor that we had to get someone to unlock the 'emergency door' to actually get into the floor of our storage facility. Thus what should've been a one hour transfer turned into a 3 1/2 hour transfer. If you have an exorbitant amount of time, then this place is worth the cheaper price of a monthly storage fee. For us, it was just trying to get our belongings stored after a trying morning rather than trying for a refund or cancellation.
