Terrible service when dropping off took 40 minutes and the girl who took care of me was the issue. Also, I had to travel many miles to this location through Philadelphia with. 20 ft. Truck when there were U-haul locations very near to my destination. Then I was charged additional miles. Not happy...

I know it sounds silly, but it would be nice if you inform the customer where to return the truck.

The service is good. If the truck is placed to a parking lot that is easier to access, that would be better.

The van smelled AWFUL, I think maybe a dog had peed in it. The gas tank was a bit under the stated level when we started, but we figured it was pretty close, but then they charged us way more than we could have possibly used in gas ($10 for 8 miles in a van). The woman at check in was fine but the return guy was kind of a dick.

Accidentally left the keys to my padlock on the keyring with the truck key. Called this location a dozen times over a weeklong period to find out if they found my padlock keys. When they answered the phone themselves, they told me to call back later. Spoke with U-haul Customer Service on at least three occasions. They sent private messages to the location as well as a manager. Promised I would get a call back each time. The manager never extended the courtesy of calling me to tell me they had my keys. I can't have been the only customer to have left something in a truck. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in the poor customer service skills of this location's manager.

THis was one of my worst customer service experience. With all the discrepancies in my customer order, i was never offered an apology for several people not doing their job.

The location was very busy they only had one person working inside and I waited over a hour to return the truck.

My side mirror did not stay tilted and had a piece of paper jammed in the joint to make it stay up. This was my only issue with the truck but important since you need to see out your side mirror. Also did not see the point of coming in a day early to make a reservation if you tell me my options for when to pick up. I was told it was because the store could get busy and they might not have a truck available later. It really isn't a reservation if you tell me what time to come pick up the truck

get more workers in so people with reservations can be taken care of quicker and not have to wait for tards that do not have reservations before hand

I booked my reservations 4 weeks in advance only to find out 1 day 1/2 before the picked time that the the drunk I booked ( 26 FT ) was not available because of maintaince. I picked up a 20 FT rental on Friday morning 9/5 at. 8:30am. Because there was no parking available I parked my car in an area near the other rental trucks in a parking space not blocking any driving space. When I returned my rental Saturday evening I was told my car was towed by the police department who was contacted by UHaul. My car was impounded and taken to a towing place that doesn't allowed weekend pick ups. No one tried to contact me from Uhaul Friday or Saturday or make any effort to find out who's car it was before contacting the police.

Consider hiring staff who are competent and/or literate. The guy checking us in screwed up and we had to come back the next day to straighten it out. The manager spent the entire time screaming at the employees.

The return date was changed twice without me knowing and this resulted in me having to change trucks in the uhaul parking lot. I had to move all of my belongings into a smaller truck in an hour. Because the only truck available, after loosing the last part of my reservation, was 4 feet smaller my father had to drive 6 hours so that we could use his van to store the overflow. A day later I was called and told that my uhaul was late. After explaining that I had truck for another day and this was the second time that they had changed my return date they changed it back to the proper time. I don't know what is wrong with the system but I would think about reevaluating how you book reservations.

The office staff turned on the lights at 9:05 on a Sunday morning - last day of the month (8/31/14) prior to a new school year. There were two people to process roughly 25+ contracts already in line. It took one person about 15 mins to process one contract. A second person was tied up for at least 45 mins with an unruly set of customers. She didn't get angry with them but she didn't have the skills to effectively resolve the issue, or move them to a Supervisor so others could be processed. There were no Supervisors on site. We were 6th or 7th in line and left the Uhaul dealership at about 10:30 am (1.5 hours later than expected). Unacceptable. The company should staff these high volume weekends with at least double the staff. They should also consider another way to process people more efficiently. The process seemed disorganized with check-in people leaving their desks to go out side to check on truck availability. The online check-in doesn't really do anything but give the expectation that a person will be processed quickly when in fact there was no difference. I lost valuable time needed to move possessions out and clean apt. by noon. It's lucky we didn't loose our $995 security deposit.

I reserved an auto-transport tow from this location. When I arrived to pick up the equipment and the only one available was rusted and required pliers to undo the bolts in order to release the ramps. After approximately 20 minutes of waiting for the U-Haul employee to attempt to release the ramps, I requested a dolly tow which was the only other kind of tow available. (There was a $20 price difference between the auto-transport and I hadn't received the dozen furniture pads and requested a refund of $10. Thus, before leaving the Philadelphia U-Haul, I was credited $30.) Throughout the tow from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, I had to stop three times and have the straps retightened. Once I arrived in Pittsburgh, and took the equipment to Hubcap Heaven; they inquired about the furniture pads. I explained that Philadelphia U-Haul location credited me the difference of $20 for the downgrade of the tow and $10 for not providing me with the dozen pads reserved . The receipt I was given didn't specify each transaction and Hubcap Heaven inquired about the missing pads. They called the Philadelphia location to get clarification on the $30 credit and they were not provided with sufficient information for approximately 10 minutes. Hubcap Heaven was great and accepted the truck from me with no problems despite not having the professional courtesy they deserved from the U-Haul in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia U-Haul located on Chestnut street needs newer equipment. Overall, the staff were nice, but their professionalism towards U-Haul customers and other U-Haul contractors needs to improve.

Never going with U-Haul again, the representatives were not helpful and we waited for TWO HOURS to actually get somewhere. They tried to charge us for an extra day when I had called ahead and was allowed a couple of extra hours because of traffic complications that were beyond our control. The people working at this location need to be thoroughly retrained, the female employee was literally just pushing buttons on her keyboard and not assisting us. It prelonged our wait time while she made herself seem busy. Utterly awful, I hate U-Haul and I will forever. Never using your business again for anything no matter what. I will change my moving dates in order to use other businesses next time.

Terrible customer service, slow as the day is long, equipment was broken. After spending two hours in line just to get my truck and tow dolly, we got my car attached to the truck only to find out that a tail light was busted on the dolly. Apparently the technicians at this location couldn't just replace it either so we had to take everything apart and leave without the dolly, after another two hours of back and forth. Huge inconvenience, to put it very lightly. Completely screwed my move that day (8/31/14).

Spent an hour standing in line to get a truck that reeked of cigarette smoke, then the employee wanted to count the hour I spent in line as part of the reservation time.

The wait was insanely long. the staff was not friendly, unprofessional and moved way to slowly for the number of guests that were waiting. When we finally got the keys, our truck was parked in a way that it was impossible to get out of the parking lot which resulted in another 15 minute wait for the staff to move the surrounding vehicles that were blocking us in. Afterwords the truck had TWO malefactions with the door. It was a mess and made our moving experience very difficult. I would certainly not recommend this location to a friend. In fact I would warm my friends against this location.
