I had a wonderful expedience. The gentlemen who helped me were super nice and friendly and help make a stressful day easier. I was running late for my pick up, and received a reminder call, that offered directions. This site is the best one I've used so far.

The general manager was very polite, friendly and helpful. That hasn't always been my U-Haul experience. Since you asked, I did have these three problems: 1. The directions on the Web site are beyond terrible. Put this on instead: "U-Haul is in the same shopping center as BJ's and Home Depot, at 24th and Oregon Ave. Drive past the back of BJ's and continue on to U-Haul at the very back of the shopping center." 2. The office signage is terrible, too. How about a sign that makes the location of the office door clearly visible? Especially since there are about 5 or 6 doors between the office door and the worthless sign with an arrow (and that sign is on a different side of the building -- unbelievable). 3. When I arrived at 6:15pm to pick up my truck (in a thunderstorm), there was no one in the office and no "Be right back" sign on the door. Just as I was about to give up, the general manager showed up at about 6:30pm. He told me that the person who was there before him just left and didn't even write a note on the door? That's no way to run a business. Thanks for listening.

Customers: if you have any option, avoid this location at all costs. I have never experienced such rudeness and incompetence from people in customer service. Even with a confirmed reservation, we waited in line for a full hour with only three people in front of us due to the sheer incompetence of the employees. U-Haul, I'd say this location is beyond repair, but here are some crucial suggestions: 1. Train competent employees. Make sure they don't: -Literally stumble into work visibly intoxicated. -Get up and walk away in the middle of a transaction with no explanation. - Walk up and down the line telling all customers "just take deep breaths, folks" when none of us are yelling or being rude. - Make personal calls and answer texts while working with customers. - State that they have no idea how to connect a trailer to a car or verify that one is correctly connected. 2. Have more than two people working on popular moving days. 3. Don't start a new person who hasn't been trained on a popular moving day. 4. Have a separate line for people with confirmed reservations. 5. Give me the moving pads I paid for. 6. Accept and refund the unused boxes, per your guarantee.

Hire better employees and train them in customer service. Staff appropriately for busy moving days. Clean the vehicles weekly. Clean them thoroughly.

Extremely poor service from Uhaul overall and from the Oregon Ave. location. We were not sent a confirmation email, text, or phone call indicating that our specified location was not where we would pick up. Thus, we went to our specified location, were told we were supposed to be at the Oregon Ave. location so we quickly ran off to get public transit to make it there. During that time, the general manager, David Yagboh, called. I said I was on my way, starting to explain that we had not received a confirmation email for location. He hung up on me in the middle of the conversation. I immediately called back but the line was busy, so I was redirected to the call center. When I got through, a female at the call center listened to my dilemma and said we still had our Uhaul truck and being late was fine since we arrived to our initial location on time. When we made it to Oregon Ave., David Yagboh informed us that he had released our truck to someone else. He said I had cancelled my order via phone. I and a witness with me both informed him that I had said nothing of that sort and had said I was on my way when he disconnected our call. David Yagboh was extremely unhelpful and unapologetic. He insisted that he had called us out of good will and not as part of protocol to call late customers. At that point, he explained that people who were 15+ minutes late popped up on his schedule. We asked him to give us the truck of someone who was 15+ minutes late. He said he had to call them first. We then caught him in his lie because he had told us before that he only called us out of good will. Extremely poor service and I have recommended to my friends to NOT use Uhaul when moving. I am immensely disappointed. We had family coming 5 hours out of town to help us with a move we'd been planning all month. We eventually got a truck several hours later. We received no apologies from Mr. Yagoh and no refunds.

Staff were extremely inefficient. They processed two people that came in after me, and when both picking up and returning had to wait over twenty minutes, mostly because the staff could not figure out the computers. The address listed for the location is misleading - the location is not located on 2990 20th street, but in a strip mall off of Oregon ave and 24th street. Also, despite reserving my truck three weeks prior to my move date, four days before my move date the time on the reservation was changed by four hours (without informing me!) and after spending an hour on the phone (while abroad!) I was able to get a smaller van at a further away location for a shorter time slot. Despite having had previous positive experiences with uhaul, I will be looking for alternative options for my next move.

Customer service was terrible. One person working, while another sat behind the counter and did nothing. My pickup was scheduled at another Philadelphia location at 12pm. The truck I reserved was not there, so I had to take a cab to this location. Between the travel and the wait, I didn't leave this location until after 2pm. The person sitting behind the counter (not helping) filmed an interaction between the employee helping us and my boyfriend and I. Completely unacceptable. I will never rent a UHaul in Philadelphia again.

It would have been nice to be able to drop the truck off after hours. The area was secured but they could not provide me a temporary access code to leave the trucker hours. that meant an extra trip to the area the next day. The staff was wonderful and pleasant to deal with on every level
