The pickup was not the issue, it was the hassle getting a trailer and talking over the phone with you people. In the end, it all worked out after some back and forth and you delivered a trailer to this pickup area for us. Since we were coming down from Minnesota to move my daughter to Des Moine.

The UHaul on-line and phone booking system is not very good. Ordered a pod and late in the day it was to arrive I called and was then informed that my location was to far from the location to dispatch the box. I then setup a truck to transfer the item to the box in Madision and was informed that there would be a 2 to 24 hour wait for a truck. An email was sent late in the evening ~6:50 which informed me that I needed to pick up the truck by 7:00. I didn't see the email until almost 9:00. I then called the on-line booking to indicate I wouldn't be able to pick-up the truck until sometime between 7 and 9 the next morning. They indicated that was alright. Getting to the site at 8:00 the next morning (~68 mi drive) I was informed that the the truck was canceled. Not pleased... Ended up renting this truck and having it driven to CA. Poor company communication!!! Poor advertising!!! If I had a choice...

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The representative was very unprofessional and literally screaming at me on the phone. Even after I spoke with the customer service people at the toll-free number I was still threatened with the police by the rep at this location. Because of this, I will never utilize U-haul's services again.

We reserved a U-Haul a month before our move. When contacted by the administrator, the wrong truck size was reserved. When I asked for it to be changed, they made it for a size larger that what I wanted. I called the U-Haul pick-up location to be able to pick up the truck earlier that what was reserved, and was assured that it would be there. It was not. We had to wait over two and a half hours before we received our truck, which put us behind. I do not blame the pick-up location, I blame a lack of foresight on the part of the administrator who did not insure that the trucks were where they needed to be. I am not sure if I could recommend U-Haul to anyone based on this experience. I personally will think twice before I utilize their services again.

The guy that "checked me in" was not friendly at all. In fact, the only words he said to me was "I'll take the keys and check it in". Then turned and went back inside.

Originally, I was supposed to pick up the Uhaul in Town A which is about 15 miles away from Town B We were told we would receive a phone call the day before if this location wouldn't work. We never received a call, so we went ahead as planned. We showed up at the Town A location at 7am sharp as we had our friends and family who were going to help move showing up at 8am sharp. Upon arriving at the location, the man there informed us he knew nothing about it. He called Uhaul and found out that the truck was in Town B. Apparently they tried to call us at 5pm the day before. (We later looked at the phone and there was no call received on the caller ID and no voicemail left.) They also said they sent an email at 5pm the day before. Not all of us have Smart Phones and have email with us wherever we go. As we were 2 hours away from home at my Grandma's, I certainly did not have access to email at that time. I think it was extremely poor customer service to not even leave a VOICEMAIL notifying us of the change. Because of this, we were 2 hours behind because the Town B location did not open until 9am. It took us 20 minutes to drive to Town B and then 45 minutes for the guy to get us in the Uhaul and on our way. Instead of starting at 7am, like we planned, we ended up starting at 10:30am.
I am extremely disgusted by the entire process, and I will not be using Uhaul ever again. I also will not be recommending it to ANYONE I know.
