When I made my reservation (#99687201), it was stated that my rate was $121.00 for my rental, but when I picked up the truck, they told me my rate was now $136.00 and I didn't understand why, and the manager couldn't explain why either. I got some pads too at $5 so my rate should have been $126.00.

A big sign that says "Customers Park Here" Parking in a faded Handicap stall was confusing. There is a lack of parking for customers and lot is full of rentals. Seem to have your priorities backwards.

Brandon asked if i had any problems with the truck, which i had. He was generally interested in the things i had to say and wrote them down. He was helpful with getting my issues heard and phone numbers to call.

The Manager did not have enough people on shift for the holiday weekend and the computers were down. It took a long time to get our truck. I had booked to pick up at another location, which I will insist on in the future.

I made a reservation by phone using a credit card number for Saturday and was told I could pick up the truck Friday night. When I arrived another customer was being helped by U-Haul rep. My rep asked for my name. I spelled it for him. He could not find it in the computer. Finally he said, "Oh, it's because it's for tomorrow" to which I replied that yes it was but I was told I could pick it up that night. Finally he finds the reservation. Apparently the rep who helped me(not present) put the pick up time at 12am. My rep showed the other rep the computer screen and they both had a laugh, with the comment, "You'd think after 13 years he'd know how to do it right". The other poor customer, a young woman, had thought she was renting a truck with a bench seat because she has a baby and one other adult. Her truck didn't have bench seats. The other rep seemed unable to figure out how to use the software to change her reservation to a truck with a bench seat, then the two reps deciding that there was no truck with a bench seat available, and my rep concluding that they could not accomodate this woman, she either took the truck without the bench seat or she was out of luck, and he was not polite about it. These guys were very unprofessional. I felt sorry for the woman. This location is convenient to my home but I will likely go to a different location in the future.

Interior cabin was not clean, windshield dirty inside and out, candy wrappers on cupholders. Change Oil light kept coming on frequently during the drive. Otherwise the truck ran well and had no problems.

The Poway location itself was OK and Steven (GM) was extremely helpful. But this was not the issue, it was everything else that lead up to this that was a complete nightmare. I reserved a 26 foot truck 9 days before my pick up date with a pick up location being specified via online reservation. It was confirmed via email along with all my equipment. I called back a few days later to switch my pick up day from Thursday to Friday pushing my day by one day. I was told this was no problem and everything would be ready for me if I wanted to pick up by 7 am and at the Oceanside location as I had requested. One day before pick up, I received an email stating that my pick up location had changed to Escondido, Ca (15 miles away from where I lived and a car dolly I reserved was not available so I was upgraded to a full auto transport for free. I was not happy about having to travel an extra 13 miles for pick up, and I was also advised that I would have to come back to the Escondido location after loading my truck to get the auto transport, since it could not be removed once it was attached. I advised I had rented an auto transport before and never had to do this, but the girl on the phone insisted I could not do that. I was also advised at this point (remember the day before pick up) that my truck would not be ready until 9 am instead of 7 am as initially advised. I really wanted it for pick up at 7 am, since I had many things planned well in advance surrounding my move out of state, but there was nothing they could do they advised me. The next morning I called the Escondido location at 8:45 am to confirm my truck was ready for pick up and a lady on the phone at the location told me it was ready to go and I could pick it up at any time. When I arrived some 20 minutes later (since it was an extra distance from my home), Peter at the desk advised me that not only did they not have the truck I reserved , there was nothing more they could do for me other than get me a 20 foot truck at the Poway location. He also offered me a $50 reservation guarantee and nothing else. No other explanation was given and simply told me nothing like this has ever happened before. This was utterly the most despicable and worthless customer service I have ever experienced in all my life. I have never felt more discarded and felt my business was not worthy to them and they could do nothing for me. The auto transport they provided also damaged my car in which I had to come back that same day to get a car dolly at the Oceanside location which they told me they did not have just a day earlier (lie of course). I was never offered a gas credit for having to travel almost 40 miles away to pick up a 20 foot truck (not a 26 foot as reserved) and they attempted to charge me for a 26 foot truck even though I was only picking up a 20 foot truck. Telling me I had to pay the same day pick up rate, instead of the rate for someone that reserves a week in advance (unbelievable). Thankfully Steven

Over priced. Penske offered over 33% in discounts(military) on my rental truck. This trailor was a quarter the size of my truck and over half the price. Next time my plans will not be as last minute. And I will not utilize uhaul again. And will advise all of my military friends to do the same.

Steve H. was very helpful, answered all my questions, set me up with the right equipment. Harold checked me in when I returned. He was quick regarding checking the vehicle and trailer and produced my final bill in seconds. Great service overall. Knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to move, tow, etc.

When a customer reserves a truck 2 wks prior to the rental date there shouldn't be a problem picking it up. Because my dad died, we needed a local truck to move two households (my Moms & mine) into one house. We needed the truck for 3 days. The day before we came to pick up our truck, an employee or owner rented our truck to someone else. We had the foresight to reserve the truck well ahead of when we needed it. A customer comes in the day before they need a truck and has no problem getting your guy to take a truck from someone else and give it to them. We were given a smaller truck that made our move twice as hard as it needed to be. Your employee, Brandon was as good as he could be to us for the lousy thing that happened to us. I hope the guy who changed our reservation and gave our truck to someone else got a really good kickback. What a jerk! We've gone out of our way to use this UHaul. Have used this particular establishment several times. You've lost our business forever.
