I was late 30 minutes and Dropped off truck. Store manager Steve would not help me in regards to extra day charged to my card when it was only 30 minutes late. I rent with you guys all the time and Steve was unwilling to help or offer any way to appease me. I work with customer service all my life and I know that there is always something that can be done.

Staff was friendly, helpful, neighborhood was not the best. Truck was clean and new. Could not understand why I had to go to a second U-Haul in Providence RI to pick up a vehicle trailer (not dolly). The second location had the same truck available.

I filled the gas tank back up to where it was when I rented the truck, but I was still given a $30 dollar gas charge. This ruined my whole experience, which was otherwise fine.

I booked a rental over the phone (I confirmed 7pm-2pm).. But the timing when I went to get the truck was somehow 7pm-3am. It ended up working out, but I was counting on the timing I'd booked.

Although I confirmed an equipment after chasing down for few hours (Auto Transport) then even they called me to check if they can rent that equipment to others. Wrong business policy. I booked online and confirmed then also they booked other reservation which should not happen.

The manger of this location refused to rent me a trailer even though the truck and hookup I had was rated and suitable for the trailer. An improvement would be to fire this manager. I had previously called this location to verify that my hitch hookup would work. I believe that I spoke with the same person, the manager, who later denied that he, or any of his employees would tell me that my hookup was suitable for the trailer. He even told me that I was lying and didn't call him and I must have talked with the people in Phoenix. I asked him if people in Phoenix have Rhode Island accents [the person I spoke with had a RI accent]. He said yes, it is possible.... I can't deny that it is possible.... Anyway, I civilly tried to work with him about the situation. He refused and was unhelpful. I then got really mad and demanded that he put me on the phone with his manager because he is wrong and I needed the trailer to take to Michigan the next day. He first said nobody was above him and I told him that was BS because UHaul is a massive company and he reports to somebody... So instead of putting me on the phone with the person himself because he didn't want to help, he told me to call the number printed on the door and left. So I stood in the parking lot and politely spoke to the person on the other end. She then called the manager at that store. I listened to the conversation in the store. He then started explaining to his management that he just wasn't comfortable with me using the hookup I have. The manager told him it was ok and to hook up the trailer to my truck. He gave in and did it. I let him do the entire hookup to the truck and trusted that he would do it correctly. I didn't touch the electrical pins, or any of the safety chains after he put it on and let the competent employee in Michigan help me unhook it. The Michigan employee asked me if I hooked up the trailer or if the Uhaul did because he said that it was done improperly. Fortunately, nothing bad happened with the trailer on the way to Michigan. Prior to renting the trailer, I called this location and asked which type of electrical hookup I needed on my truck. The person on the phone, who I believe was, again, the same manager, wouldn't answer my question without me giving him my name and phone number and registering something in their system. He said it is, 'Uhaul policy to collect information before answering any questions'. B.S. I was at Pep Boys trying to buy the part while on the phone and explained that I just had a quick question. He refused to answer my question and was really rude. I gave him my name, and he proceeded to put me on hold for about 5 minutes before I could ask him the question again. He came back and said, ;yeah I have one in stock' and told me how much it costs. I explained I never asked to buy one from him and only asked what type it is. I then had to ask several more times before he would answer the question. His answer after that

The gas was very expensive, I rented because I needed something really fast but everybody complains about the same thing, when I picked up the truck the gas was almost full and I didn't even ran 5 miles and actually I refill $10 gas before returning it, next day when I received my contract bill they charged me $27.50 for gas THATS ANORMAL!! And it clearly shows on the bill that I only ran 5 miles, This service was my worst option ever!

Service at that specific location was good, though I ran into some confusion about truck pick-up. I learned that I cannot send someone else to pick up a truck I've reserved; the person who picks up the truck must also be the person whose credit card is on the reservation. The pick-up time was right before the store closed, and I had to be at work during that time. If I had not gone to the store before work to make sure everything was all set, I would have ended up paying for a truck without being able to use it. I feel that a notice on the online reservation form, indicating that ONLY the person whose card is on file can make the pick-up, would avoid any potential confusion in the future.

I was late on my delivery by two hours because the movers I got through uhaul never showed up so I load and unloaded by my self. When I talked to the manager he didn't reply back or talk to me at all and just printed the receipt, gave it to the person next to him and charged me double. Thanks a lot uhaul...my whole body is hurting, I had to call out cause I wasn't unpacked all the way and then get the silent treatment. Thank you again.

Your employees need to give a thural search or property destruction, before and after letting a truck out and letting it come back. I noticed your employees wernt concerned about my problem, I almost got over charged with something, and I believe your Broad street Customer service representatives need better customer service qualifications because I will make sure none of my friends or family ever go to this branch U-Haul on broad st. The Manager was very helpful & professional BUT the parking lot for customers.....there isn't one and it's very confusing for those not familiar with Providence.
