The site is big and has every truck size you might wish for. It has long opening hours and after-hour return possibility which is convenient.
The service via phone was very good, however there was a confusion about the 2 pick-up locations in Redwood city when I called.
My bill, however, was not correct until I called to have the mileage being adjusted to what I actually drove. Fair enough, this was done quickly and without further problems. Suggestion: For after hour returns have the customer fill in the return-at-mileage and be contacted in case of disagreement with the reading by the service team.

The vehicle made horrible noises, probably in the transmission. The handle on the door kept falling off. The shocks were horrible. The truck has 192k and might be time to get a new one.

Everything was great, the people were knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. It was expensive, but it was a good experience. I would keep the items for purchase (I purchased a mattress bag) in a neutral location (i.e. along a wall) because I had to get in front of/next to another customer who was interacting with an employee in line) to get to it. That was potentially distracting, and there was floor space where this could have been placed.

I have, do, and will, rent trucks from U-haul at thsi location. The process is quick, the personnel are friendly, and the equipment is always in good shape.
I really like how far U-Haul has come with using the Internet, and e-mails. Making reservations, checking the status of a reservations, and notifications that include the receipt really make it easy to keep track. Especially when your are in the middle of moving and have a long list of to-dos. Getting an email sent that shows the equipment drop-off confirmation and receipt information on my android cell is very helpful.
Maybe an Android and Apple App would be worth U-Haul's time.

I had a very poor experience with uhaul this time. Not only did the equipment fail, but I was forced to wait 5 hours before getting a new truck, and then charged again for that second truck without a refund on the first. We called about 20 people in the uhaul organization, and eventually were promised that a reservation was made for us for a replacement truck but when we got back there was no reservation, and we were charged again for a new one. I felt like I should not have been charged at all for either. Also It would have been much better if Uhaul had sent out a replacement truck to the scene of the breakdown instead of making us wait 5 hours to get towed back.

The sun visor on the truck was damaged so that it hung down and was distracting while driving. I tried to duct tape it to hold it in place, but that didn't work too well.

Be more clear about the differences in motorcycle trailers. Some have front wheel chocks and others don't and it makes a difference!

The people were nice. Location handy. I called ahead and gave my credit card number and information but even with that I still had to wait too long!
This wasn't just in this location, it seems to be a U-Haul experience overall. I prefer to use other companies when I can. This U-Haul was closest to where I needed a van.

The person who initially checked me in at 930am and did the paperwork for my reservation was excellent! She was multitasking and helping 2 customers at once to move the line along. All the staff were very nice and helpful.

The reason for the "NO' above: Your location is very difficult and dangerous to enter and exit. If you wish to drive west on Woodside Road, it takes for ever to find a road to take you back onto Woodside Road. The cost of hiring the truck was quite reasonable.

I did call prior and wanted a specific size...the U-Haul representative said "no worries we have plenty.."called
that morning for the next day to confirm and that size trailer was not available...so a bit mad....I was offered a larger one but no price break for the inconvenience and I did not need the larger trailer and was unable to pull it with my vehicle....when I arrived a smaller trailer came in....but I had already gotten a bigger vehicle for the larger trailer etc....but ended up getting the smaller one...but what happened to customer service and a bit of a break in cost for the rental ? A couple of dollars even makes a happier customer.....All in All I do like U-Haul...Just something to think about for future customers....

Staff was helpful and friendly. Tow dolly was in need of maintenance. One chain hook was worn off and the rachets didn't work until I lubricated them.

I reserved a truck at this location. The day before pick-up, they tried to say I needed to go to a different location for pick-up, but I insisted on this location, and eventually they agreed to let me pick-up the truck at this location. Other than that, the location was excellent.

The strap on my trailer was very worn, to the point where significant integrity was lost. This i feel is unsafe, and the service individuals should have taken greater care to provide me with a safer, more well maintained trailer wheel strap.
