This location neees a top down management change! Close it. Fire everyone, and reopen "under new management" That is the only thing that would get me to come here again. Most importantly, they did not attach the trailer properly!!! WTF! Came unhitched in about 5 min. The chains kept it slamming into the back of my vehicle. Left me facing downhill on a busy two lane road with no shoulder. A dangerous situation. Uhaul roadside assist is a joke. FOUR AND A HALF HOURS to arrive!!! Otherwise the place is a cluttered mess, nobody seems to want to be there. Equipment was not ready, they carelessly shuffled the trailers slamming them into each other. one employee working on his car in the parking lot. On dropoff, the driveway was blocked with returned trucks so I could barely get in. But the staff was just sitting on their butts in the office. Because customers are the farthest thing from their mind. I recently rented two trailers from the Berkeley 7th St. Location. Totally different experience! Friendly well trained staff, orderly facility, equipment put away as soon as it is returned. And they did not endanger my life.

my wife and I just got married and rented a truck to return all the stuff we rented for the wedding table cloths chair covers etc they gave us a truck that just came back truck was clean and the back door was open we smelled weed in the back of the truck we informed the person at the counter and she said she smelled it to!! we left the lot went home and picked up our stuff and when I reopened the back door the weed smell was really bad and we were in a rush because our stuff had to be back at a certain time and we had to pick up more stuff at a friends house to return. by the time we arrived at our friends house everything we had in the back smelled like weed I sprayed a whole can of air freshener and it didn't do a thing. when we returned the linens they threatened to charge us extra because of the smell! It made us feel bad returning the stuff like that... not good service to rent a truck like that.. FYI We found Weed leaves in the back also which indicates someone was either growing weed back there or someone was transporting weed from somewhere far because the smell is permanent!! please fix this problem

I didn't realize that there were multiple U-haul locations in Richmond CA. I had a U-box that was shipped to this location, then called U-haul to schedule a truck to haul the box and unload it at my new apartment. They scheduled the truck from a different location. I had to go back and forth between locations to figure out my reservation. It would be great to have better communication between locations so the reservation at two different locations wouldn't have happened.

We couldn't drive into the parking because there was a long line of other trucks blocking it, so we drove around the block to find another entrance. We found one, and drove in, then a man told us (in a very rude manner) that we shouldn't do that, and that we should use the other entrance. I explained that the other entrance was blocked, he told it wasn't his problem. We had to back up out of the parking, circle around the block again, wait until the entrance was clear, and park there. The lady who checked the truck was friendly and welcoming, unlike the person who greeted us.

The experience in Richmond was fine. The scheduling prior to Richmond was completely disappointing, I reserved a 26 foot truck for SF, I was called the night before, after being told it was going to be notified 48hrs prior, and told that I had to pick up in Richmond. This is 25 miles from SF, and considering the bay area's traffic it was a MAJOR inconvenience. The very worst part of this experience was when I pushed for a discount based on the complete lack of service from UHAUL, I was told I would have a 10% discount. When I picked up the truck the Richmond location had no information on the discount and actually didn't even know that I was originally scheduled for a SF pick up. When I called the SF location to remedy the situation, I was only offered a $50.00 reservation guarantee discount. So basically, I was told one thing and then you reneged on the compromise. I will never use Uhaul again and the best part for me is knowing with my new position I will have the opportunity to steer people away from using your service. I realize I am insignificant in Uhaul's view but I will take joy in knowing I can move business away from your service. Sincerely, DM

make sure equipments are in working condition before it counts into inventory. If you spend time repairing it make sure you report that on the contract so customer can have extra time to deliver the equipment in time.

There was no personal advise or help with the rental. The lady In the office did her paperwork but the man at the trailer didn't help at all and did not point out that the trailer had been damaged and the tongue was bent and damaged. When I realized the problem the trailer was completely loaded and I did not have time or money to return this trailer for a new one. When I got to the drop off location in Las Vegas the counter person told me that if the trailer wasn't available at the location that was confirmed during the order that Uhaul would refund $50 for my inconvience. I ordered the trailer on line to be picked up in San Rafael California and when I was ready to pick it up I received a call from Uhaul telling me that I would have to go to Richmond California to pick it up. It cost me gas and $15 in Bridge tolls to pick up the trailer and I had to pick it up one day early in order to get my help to load the trailer. I would appreciate receiving the $50 for the inconvience. I can be reached at my phone

We had to wait 2 hours for them to fix a light and we were not compensated at all. I will never return to this location and I have already told everyone I know to never come to this location. When I called in to complain to a manager, I was told the manager would call me back once they came in later that day. I never received a call back. Rather than continue to pursue a response from someone, I will take my business elsewhere. The lack of customer service at this location is not worth the headache.

This is the second time I used this location and the staff there is AMAZING! They remembered me from a year ago and their customer services skills are impeccable. They know how to chat up a customer and make the "moving experience" less dreadful. Cheers to them!
