I was very pleased with the truck rental. The equipment was in excellent condition, the people who helped me were knowledgeable and courteous, and the whole rental and return went very smoothly. we dropped equipment in the afternoon, but were told we should have been there at 8:01 am. the location had hours from 9-5 and we had been told to drop off any day before close of day. we were charged an additional day for rental and ins coverage because we were not there at 8 am. this is an unfair charge and we were advised incorrectly. we would like a refund for the one extra day we were charged.

The service was good the employees were helpful. The only problem I had was and it wasn't really a problem was that they didn't have the exact trailer I wanted but I took a smaller and got the job done just the same.

the location lacks an old-school friendly smile and approach/greeting. the smile was too short. the workers present themselves as workers perform on an assembly line basis. had to return to get the blankets for the trip.

The two customer service reps that waited on us were complaining to us the whole time about their work schedules or other customers, or about how tired they were. They were not professional at all. I am the customer, I don't want to hear an employee complaining about his work or his personal life!! It was totally unprofessional and actually made me angry. I would not go back there for fear that I would have to listen to him again! I am paying good money for a truck and I dont want the added aggravation of having to listen to an unhappy employee. You should consider some employee coaching or training in professional behavior and customer relations, or possibly think about paying them a LIVING WAGE!!!!

The gas refill was a total ripoff. Insist on a full tank, because trying to get to 3/4 was impossible. The needle would freeze before 3/4. Either you filled it up or went back short where they would charge you $9 gallon for the difference. Every car rental company I ever used credited you for the extra gas you put in, UHAUL will not. I had to complain very loudly until I finally got a lousy $10 credit for probably over $30 in gas I had to put in extra. This and being forced to pay for two days, I will never use U-HAUL again and pass the word around to my friends, Facebook and Twitter on these shameful practices.

We reserved the trailer to be picked up in Castleton, but were redirected to Rutland via the confirmation e-mail the day prior to the rental. If I hadn't carefully read the e-mail, we would not have known that the location had been changed. This was more distant. We would have appreciated notification that the equipment was not available at the location on the reservation.

I will never use uhaul again, and I will make sure that everyone that I know hears my story from this encounter with uhaul. I reserved a 26ft truck, was confirmed to be receiving this size and received an email stating that my order was placed (3 weeks in advanced). I was then told that I would have no contact with the company until the day prior to my move, when I would receive a message confirming my pick up location. That was the only thing that turned out to be true. I did receive a text stating pick up in new haven, vt at 11 am on 10/4. I called the following day and was told that they had a truck, but 20ft. I contacted customer service and spoke with the most rude, unhelpful and angry person named Emily. I asked to speak to her supervisor after she told me that there was in fact, no truck for me in new haven and no 26 foot truck available within 80 miles of my location. Of course she was the supervisor. Disgusting behavior. I am embarrassed for you for having such people in supervisory positions. Certainly not winning any customers back with that one. I am disappointed in the lack of communication from uhaul. That I was never contacted that I would not have access to the equipment that I had requested and planned on utilizing. Emily offered me the only 20ft truck available to me, 40 minutes to my south. She offered no other help or considerations. After additional phone calls to customer service, I was given contact information for Jessica, an executive assistant. She had no information available as to why I had never been contacted regarding the equipment that I requested, or why the pick up location assigned to me told me I had a truck waiting for me, but actually had none. She was kind enough to confirm my rental in Rutland, since I had my doubts at the point, and added a 6x12ft trailer to my order free of charge. I was also told that I would need to return the truck to Rutland, an hour and a half trip from my new location. I did not have any other option. After speaking with Jessica I thought about the miles/gas that would needed to make the pick up, move and drop off and became concerned by the thought of how much that would end up costing me. I tried to call Jessica back, but instead got a man named David. He was very understanding and said I had to return the rental to the pick p location, but would include extra miles at no charge to my rental... To total 100 uncharged miles. I went to pick up my rental on the morning of the 4th in Rutland. They told me that my rental would be $120 instead of the daily rate of $40, plus $14 insurance and tax that I had ordered and that had been confirmed to me. I would be able to drop the truck off in New Haven after my move though. I was also informed that my rental would not include the 100 miles promised because they could not offer them on my rental. I was completely confused and concerned, as this was the opposite of what I had spent hours working out with customer service the day prior
