I was running late on my return, I called an hour and a half prior to being back with the truck, to give a heads up, the guy was rude and said "that isnt going to work, it has a new rental on the truck at 230", I told him, maybe , I was trying really hard , and he said do that. I called back and told him I was 3 miles out. He charged me for another 24 hours, I was 1 hour late. he would not let me take the truck for the additional 23 hours I had to pay for. I rented a small truck to begin with , they changed it to a big truck, more gas out of my pocket, they had rented the truck I reserved two weeks prior. I have used uhaul for over thirty years, no I will not be back, I will go to budget ,or some other place, but never uhaul again and I will never reccommend to anyone.

1. Reserved a pickup but the computer said box van. 2. Did not like the $11 charge for insurance coverage - the other choice was "immediate" payment of damages; UHaul doesn't deal with insurance companies I was told. Felt like I was being forced to spend $11 for insurance I already had. 3. Was told pickup gas was full but not on "F". Final bill shows I went 39.2 miles but I needed to put 5 gallons in to get to full. Either not on full at pickup or these pickups only get 8 MPG. 4. Asked to sign that pickup was in perfect condition before I could inspect it. Found a ding with black marks and was told it was a "scuff". 5. Mystery $1 charge on computer pad was explained vaguely as "environmental" charge. Shows up on final bill as "environmental" fee. Still don't understand what this is for.

The first thing that must be done is to remove the General Manager, Mike Fontaine! He was unprofessional, belligerent, rude and disrespectful as he joined a conversation I was having with the employee checking me back in, Michael Hamilton. He even walked out on our conversation, saying that, " This conversation is not headed to a good place! You are just talking in circles. Goodbye," and he walked away!!!!! This all happened infront of Michael Hamilton, as he processed my vehicle return. Very sad. I was shocked! Our conversation had been very peaceful, even with his scarcisism and degrading comments about my thinking capabilities, etc. I could not believe that this was how I was being treated, especially by a manager and that he walked out on our conversation! The saddest part was that it was in response to my asking the young man checking me back in, about the additional $11 insurance fee that I needed to pay this rental, that I did not have to pay when I rented the same style of vehicle from the same place one month ago. I was passively seeking out under- standing as to the change. I was not upset in the least, but curious and was speaking very nicely and with a smile. Mr. Fontaine (I can not refer to him as a 'manager' under any light) quickly became errogant and condescending in our conversation, seemingly intollerant to being questioned. His 'poor management performance' was topped off by taking place infront of a very professional young man that was left in the very uncomfortable position of needing to finalize my vehicle return process after such an embarrassing display by his manager! He delt with this position beautifully! This young man should be your manager and Mr. Fontaine should be cleaning vehicles. I will not return to this location and will be letting others know of this manager so as to avoid his errogance and belittling. Should you have any further questions regarding this unfortunate staff member, feel free to contact me in the evenings. Thank you for listening.

Place had two workers on a Friday afternoon.. I waited a good 45 minutes to rent a trailer.. Went thru 6 trailers to find one that was working.. Only to find out a few bulbs were out. Very dissatisfied with the experience overall. Not sure what I will do for my next trailer or truck needs

Make the reservation process simple to use. Your online reservation process is terrible to say the least. Who uses a 26 foot truck for 10 hours to move a house? There was no way to tell you how long I actually needed it for. I will never rent from U-Haul again and I will even pay more to not rent from U-Haul.

My customer service in Saco U-Haul was excellent but the experience I had at your Manchester store was beyond poor I booked a trailer with the tailgate over the phone for customer service representative informing them that I need a trailer to be picked up in Manchester New Hampshire to bring back to Saco Maine I spent over an hour on the phone with this person stating exactly what I needed I informed her I needed the trailer with the tailgate a trailer hitch and the light plug for the trellis system when I arrived at the location I thought she booked me a local rental to be returned to Manchester New Hampshire I had two quads that I had to bring to me so I had to drive to me drop off the quads and then return the trailer back to Manchester New Hampshire I wasted over $120 worth of gas because of this customer service representatives mistake when I arrived at Socko to run my auto trailer the following day to bring my BMW home I found that the Manchester store charge me for the trailer hitch saying I bought it for $25 and the lighting system for 13 I only wanted to remedy systems I do not want to buy I was unaware that the Manchester store sold them to me and made no reference to me buying anything I was under the impression I was renting these two items the lighting system in a trailer hitch I am very disappointed with the Manchester store and I would like my gas money of $120 I wasted refunded because of your mistake I do not like to not be informed that I am buying items when I'm under the impression I'm only renting I would please like to have this situation taken care of as soon as possible like I said I'm looking to have my $120 worth of gas refunded because of your mistake I had no choice but to take the trailer that day because if I didn't my quads would've been put back on lot for auction this was not an ideal situation for any person

My overall experience with UHAUL was VERY POOR and the folks I dealt with at each respective location were great! Travis Shafer is an ASSET to your Failing Company. Lack of Attention to Detail & Sense of Urgency are what I experienced with UHAUL in terms of Operations and Customer Service. I will never rent from UHAUL again. If you truly want to improve then you will offer a military discount, no questions asked. You will make it clear to the customer that ONE MONTH FREE STORAGE is not a GAURANTEE Nor is it PROMISED that UHAUL will provide equal cubic footage in a storage unit according to the dimensions of the trailer/box truck rented. ALL BRANCHES SHOULD ACCEPT ALL UHAUL EQUIPMENT. Customer are the fuel for UHAUL.
