We were pleased with everything, the only thing I could say is they needed more trailers, but with the notice I gave and it being a weekend I couldn't ask for more.

First, my reservation wasn't available at the location I reserved it at and was sent here. I then get there and have to wait for more than 20 minutes since no one is inside only to find out I have to return it 14 hours later because someone else already had it reserved. I still had to pay the full price however. How does that work? I'm sure there's a false advertisement scenario there since it's advertised "per day". So after spending most of the night getting done what i needed the truck for so I could return it on time, I stop and get gas, and return to the location. I am then told by someone with an owner tag on that i do not have enough gas when the gas meter showed exactly the same as it did when i picked it up after i put gas in it. I know this is a ploy otherwise you would require fill up so it leaves full and comes back full rather than leaving it anywhere in the middle which is subjective on the meter itself. What a farce? I leave to go get more gas in it instead of paying your over the top mark up when the guy waiting for it comes out and says he'll pay it so he can get on the road. when i come in i hear the employees talking about how ridiculous it was (young blonde) to which i agreed.

I was very frustrated when attempting to reserve a 10 foot Uhaul. I was told the closest truck was in Huntington when the lot in St. Albans had multiple 10 foot trucks sitting in the parking lot. I wanted a one way and was told it was unavailable unless I did a there and back. I don't know why I wasn't offered a one way when they had multiple trucks or given a free upgrade to a 14 foot truck when there were even more of those on the lot. Very frustrated as a customer.

The truck was nasty and had cigarettes all in it. And the tow dolly strap kept falling off my tire made it hard to go far without checking it. Also the tail light on the dolly was out.

The gentleman that helped us was WONDERFUL! We had light problems with the trailer, he fixed the lights, but it still didn't work on the vehicle we were switching the trailer to. So we had to unload the trailer into the vehicle, and the gentleman was so kind to help us with unloading it. I can't say enough how awesome this gentleman was. He was polite, apologetic that the trailer wouldn't work with the vehicle, and so very very helpful in moving the stuff we had in the trailer. We would have done it on our own, but he was very generous to help us out. You should have many more employees like this!! This was the BEST experience I have EVER had with a U-haul facility. He went over and above what I would have ever expected. Thank you!!

your manager Robert was very rude towards me. I made a reservation with him in person two days prior for a ten foot truck and a first floor storage.( I have bad knees and working alone). I came into the store. Robert handled the transaction he gave me the wrong truck thus charging me incorrectly.(which should have been given even bigger credit). Then when I brought my stuff. I was told my unit would be on second floor. He became very rude and very short.(even his coworkers were not impressed and they seemed nervous around him like that). He became argumentative said I would have to wait for 2 to 3 hours for a first floor one that should have been avail already. I called the customer service number and I was transferred multiple times. Finally after about and hour or more one of his associates came up to me and said that he called a local affiliated storage unit. This unit was cheaper and on the first floor. Why did he not do this right away. why did he argue and than tell me I have to wait for his screw up. I expect this to be remedied immediately and if you lies to you I will contact my attorney. fix it he needs to learn better customer service skills. and problem solving skills especially considering even his employees thought he was out of line.

I was called on June 21, 2014, and informed that the 26- foot truck I reserved for 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2014, would not be available until 4:45 p.m. on Sunday. This time was completely unacceptable for my needs. Of course, on the day before you need a moving truck it is impossible to find another company with a truck available. I had to settle for a much smaller truck (20 foot), and it was not available until 11 a.m. The resulted in me not being able to fit everything into the truck, and I will have to return to my old address to make more trips with my car. If you cannot guarantee a time for a reservation, do not even call it a reservation. It should just be like, "maybe you'll get, maybe you won't." The young man who took processed my order was nice, but all of the people I spoke with regarding the botched reservation were extremely rude and none of them were at all sympathetic or apologetic. I can't recall the guy's name I spoke with but I spoke with a woman named Martha in the regional reservation office who was quite curt and snide. I truly believe I deserved some sort of discount due to this ordeal. I will NEVER use U-Haul again.

My original pickup location was changed... I was not notified and my first knowledge of this was a message telling me that not only would my truck be in Winfield, WV (much farther away) but that it would not be available until at least 9am Saturday even though I clearly reserved 7am. This turned into a large mess for me to deal with only hours before my move. I did the responsible part as a customer and reserved a truck in advance and even used uhaul to hire movers and I feel that uhaul was completely irresponsible as a company. Beyond eventually finding me a truck there was very little effort to make this horrible mess right by me. I doubt that I will ever go through uhaul again because of this.

The experience was very good, however, not offering one-way rentals is an unnecessary expense to the consumer. You need to consider one-way rentals.

Rented two 26’ trucks the weekend of May 15th-May 17th 2014.  I had to pick each truck up at a separate location, each further away from my nearest UHaul location.  Even though I “reserved” these trucks at the same location, but you’ll find out why just as I did. At the time of pick up, each truck only had ¼ tank of gas.  So the two vehicles I’m renting to use to move are out of gas.  Needless to say, this is quite frustrating and adds to my already hectic schedule during the move.  However, I was told on each occaision that I would only need to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel, that will be passed on to the next lucky customer…again.  In addition to having to drive further to pick up the second truck, I was not provided the “extra” mileage allowance I was told I would on the phone with the operator.  I noticed this when I picked up the vehicle and the employee agreed, there was no allottment provided for this, which if I hadn’t pointed out would have been charged to me in error.  There is a theme forming:  For being in a business that focuses so heavily on logistics, they do not seem well equipped to meet the task. I noticed when I picked up the second truck, it was barely able to maintain at idle.  It wasn’t even pulled out for us, they literally threw the keys to my wife and pointed her to the stacks of trucks.  So if that’s how it was released to me, how could any kind of walkthrough procedure have been completed?  I guess not.  No surprise later, after turning the truck off, I had to purchase jumper cables to get it restarted.  So again, I’ve rented trucks that are out of gas and have dead batteries.  It really makes the move easy when you have to scramble to fix these sort of things.  $33 later from the jumper cables, I now realize I won’t be able to turn this truck off, since it may not restart.  Luckily for UHaul, they didn’t pay for the fuel, so I would be able to allow the truck to run endlessly further increasing my own personal expense.  Additionally part of this debacle was my renting of a 6 x 12 tow behind trailer.  This was another “reservation.”  I was contacted by the location that if I did not pick it up before the close of business, it would be gone the next morning.  The reason I found out was, it was “reserved” to someone else.  Even when the employee was asked, they confirmed that by picking up the trailer that day, it would eliminate the trailer from being available for the other customer.  I subsequently received a phone call from the operator at the location the next morning, stating “it shouldn’t have happened” and essentially trying to verbally convince me into returning the trailer at once.  He was very careful not to say anything beyond that, just as I was equally careful not to committ to returning a trailer that was rented to me while “reserved” for another customer.  That was the end of the phone call, and the beginning of the moment when I knew I would be leaving a review about this experience.

I think if the you have problems with the truck you rental should be free. I did get a good discount but it wasn't free. I had also found out this truck had just had the same issue a week earlier. If you are going to fix the truck it should be corrected so someone else doesn't experience the same issue.

I had reserved my truck on line with 4 days notice, the day I went to pick it up, not there. Not available until 8am the next day, and my furniture pads were also completely unavaiable. I had paid for movers thru u-haul, and scheduled time off from work. Had to take a much smaller truck and take 2 trips in order to move in the time I had. Completely out of the hands of the store level personnel.

In hooking up the tow dolly to the truck, they left the ramps down. If my wife hadn't noticed this, we would have been dragging them down the road.

There was nothing wrong with my truck, it was just starting to get some age on it. I imagine the older trucks get retired for local use like this. My only complaint was I asked to rent furniture pads. I was told to just use the pads in the back of the truck. Well, the bag was sealed, but was completely empty. Was somewhat of an inconvenience expecting to have furniture pads then starting to move furniture and not having them. This is a very nice facility with an extensive inventory.
