This location is HORRIBLE. It is a junk yard. The yard is a mess with pieces of metal and garbage everywhere. I am surprised we didn't have a flat tire when we left.
When I called to reserve the truck I was told that we would be charged a 24 hour rental as we wanted to pick it up on Sunday and drop it off Monday. The location isn't open Sunday therefore we were told that we could pick it up Saturday and still only be charged for a 1 day rental. When we went to pick up the truck, the quote was printed out as a 2 day rental. When I questioned this I was told that was "the way that it was". I pushed back about the quote. The person serving us called the customer service number 3 times to try to figure out how to adjust the amount. After an hour, we were not closer to a solution. The person serving me assured me that we would not be charged for the 2nd day. They would adjust it when we returned the truck.
I had to request that we do a walk around of the truck to inspect for damage (there was a hole that they had failed to fix from a previous client whom they stated would have cost thousands to fix had she not bought their uHaul insurance...but they hadn't fixed it so what did the insurance do for this former client?). When we got in the truck and drove away, we noticed that it had less gas in it than was indicated on the paperwork. Immediately called them and was told that they would check with whomever looked at the truck before we took it and they'd call back but they were SURE that it had a half tank, not a quarter tank. No call.
The truck was returned on a holiday so we couldn't verify the charge upon dropoff. I called the next day to verify the charge and was told again that we would be charged the proper amount for a 24 hour rental not 48. Two days later when the charge was put through on my credit card, it was incorrect. I called and asked to have it refunded and was told that because it was already processed, they couldn't do it at that level but they would forward the information to who could do it. I followed up regularly and after weeks of nothing happening, I got in touch with the territory manager. He stated to me that he had not received my information. He was actually really great. Initially offered me a gift card for uHaul in the amount of the erroneous charge. I requested a cash refund instead. Apparently this isn't normal procedure but it was processed for me 2 days later.
I would never recommend that someone rent a uHaul from this location.
