Poor customer service. We were ignored for the first 10 minutes at the counter while 2 employees chatted and counted money. One of them left for the evening while we were checking out but made sure to come back into the store to inappropriate inform her coworker that another patron was 'being rude' in front of us. I will not be returning to this location nor do I think I will be renting from Uhaul again having had much better experiences with Penske

After waiting 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge me I was accused of smelling of Marijuana in front of other customers. I don't use Marijuana and the only thing I could figure is she was smelling my beard cream which has vetever and clove in it. I found the accusation very demeaning and offensive. Uppon returning the vehicle I sat at the return area which the sign stated to remain in vehicle for attendant. After another 20 min wait in 102 degree heat I decided to go in and find some one. I was told to just leave it there and they would send me an email. I was also a bit grossed out by the male attendant who had piercings in his lip and eyebrows. I will definitely never go to this location again and may never use uhaul again.

Hire more help. Each time we went in there was only one person to help. During pick up I had to go find someone to help me. He was in the garage tending to another vehicle. On drop off it took at least 20 minutes to drop the truck off again due to lack of staff.

The mid-city location was ok but it was the third location that I went to that day after making the reservation over the phone. I had the complete run around. I first when to the Bountiful location where my reservation was and they told me that they didn't have the truck or trailer and sent me to the down town SLC location where they told me that they had the trailer but that I needed to go back to Bountiful to get the truck. After I got upset, someone from dispatch (who was completely rude) finally sent me over to the Mid-city to get the truck and trailer. All in all, the whole thing took 2.5 hours to complete. It was ridiculous considering I had people at my house waiting for the truck to help me move. The mid-city people were friendly and helpful but really understaffed and it took forever. I felt really bad for them. They were working hard but there were 20 people there waiting.

THE ONLY THING THAT SCARED ME. WHEN HE PUT IN FOR A RESERVATION ON A TRUCK. HE SAID IF WE HAVE ONE HERE ON FRIDAY.OTHERWISE I HAVE TO GET ONE AT THE OTHER STORE, THEN I SAID WHY IF I RESERVE ONE I HAVE TO GO TO ANOTHER STORE! LIKE MAYBE OUT OF STATE LOL. AND PAY FOR MILEAGE . BUT I ALL WENT WELL IT WAS AT THE STORE I GO TO !

We were told the truck was full for gas, however, after driving less than 15 miles it took over 3 gallons to fill up the tank. So either this truck gets horrible mileage or the tank was less than full.

You need more than two people working there.when i arrived it was me and two other customers.when I was finally helped there were six people behind me.there should be two at counter and two others to get rentals ready for your customers.other than that your employees were very nice and helpful.

While the initial intake was quick, easy, and painless, the return process showed that this location has no problem with cheating customers out of charges when they close out their rental. I had gone a total of 12 miles on my trip and returned the tank at Full after hours, only to be emailed a receipt the next morning stating the tank was at 7/8ths and billed me for 4 gallons of gas. If U-Haul trucks get 3 miles to the gallon in town, how does the company even exist at this point? When I called the dealership that morning to discuss the receipt, I was told that the manager, Sabrina, was not available and left a message asking her to call me back. I repeated this in the afternoon and on the following Monday, received her direct number and left a voicemail stating my concerns. The refunded portion of my held deposit made its way back into my account on Monday, with the fuel surcharge still on my receipt. My employer opened a U-Haul dealership later that week, and after a week out the manager had still not contacted me. I spoke to the area field manager to straighten the issue out, and he did so and apologized for the events. Having now joined the U-Haul family of dealers, it is sad to see that a major dealership within our local network has no problem making business more difficult for other dealers by having zero integrity and business ethics. Even when I mentioned that I had been working for a company with a dealership as I left messages for the manager, the Mid City manager had no problem ignoring my inquiry or following up within a reasonable time period. If the manager, Sabrina, has no problem overcharging and then ignoring a fellow UHaul member when they notice, how does she treat our customer base? Instead of taking five minutes to resolve the obvious issue, she had no problem demonstrating her apathy for ensuring customer satisfaction. I can assure you that I would refer a customer to another dealership, or even a competitor, before referring them to the Mid City dealership. I would not want to refer a customer who could use my services in the future to a dealership who treats customers as a one-time cash grab and would all but guarantee they use someone else. UHaul provides value and convenience for customers such as myself, but that value is negated when dealers such as Mid City prefer the quick cash, opting to erode the brand by thinking they can get away with stealing money from customers who aren't there to contest the blatant overcharging.
