Somewhat disorganized . Had to gather my own blankets and dolly as the locations primary business is as a convenience store. Owner had to do my rental agreement over the phone as his wife could not do it.

the gentleman at the counter did not know what to do when i arrived. he had to call a foreigner who was also very not helpful and did not want to take the time to discuss the return situation. i arrived late due to traffic on san antonio freeways, i took the time to clean the veh, i arrived 20 miles under contracted 340 miles and the cad would not dispense for the differencee on milage which stephanie said i would not get charged for when i contracted u haul. she gave me 40 in san antonio and 300 on the road. the person i got transfered to refused to reimburse for miles and only wanted to take the late return. i then called customer service, got disconnected three times. i was on the phone, they wouldn't take the drop off unless i paid the late fee, they wouldn't reimburse the miles all while my kids waited in the car the whole time. lesson learned, make sure drop offs are not owned by foreigners and return to dropoff areas w/ key drops...if we rent from uhaul again. i have never had a problem and i have rented many times, but i have always dealt w/ locals and i have paid my share to uhaul for the services provided.

I had placed my order on Thursday evening, requesting a pick-up time of 1 p.m. on Friday. My husband arrived after 3 p.m. and was only then told that the appliance dolly I requested was not available at this location. I had given my phone number when making the reservation, so I expect that I should have received a phone call earlier in the day to be given notice of this. Understanding that the rental is for six hours and that the location closed at 7, my husband arrived later than expected to pick up the truck and dolly because we simply needed to move a fridge from one location to another, about 15 minutes apart; we figured we wouldn't need the truck for more than 2 hours. My husband was told that he would have to drive to another UHaul location to pick up the dolly himself. I certainly understand there being limitations to locations' ability to move products between stores. For this reason, I, again, expect that a phone call is warranted to alert customers to any availability issues. Had we been notified, we could have altered our plans to accommodate for this. It should have taken my husband about 10 minutes to travel from this location to pick up the fridge, another 15 to get it home, and 15 minutes to return the truck. Instead, he had to fight traffic along two major highways (the original plans involved none) on a Friday afternoon to pick up and drop off the dolly. He was able to get the truck returned only minutes before this location closed. The decision to not call us resulted in undue stress and frustration for both my husband and myself. There is no reason we should not have received a phone call. On another note, I would like to compliment the staff at the UHaul on 1951 NW Loop 410 in San Antonio, TX. They were helpful and friendly to my husband. We should have chosen their location to begin with.

The personnel wasn't very helpful, and rushed the whole process and failed to answer my questions or allow me to inspect the truck prior to signing the document for truck damages.

This location in inside a convenience store, which I was not made aware of. It was very difficult finding the location, we drove up and down the street. After finally calling again we were told it was inside a Valero store. I ordered a dolly and when I told them upon arriving, I was given keys to a storage shed and told to go unlock the gate and shed and to take it out myself. No one ever came out to do a walk around like is normally done at UHauls, however upon returning the truck-the attendant did come out to check the gas. Upon picking up the truck it had half a tank, upon arriving we put gas and it was at half, but the attendant insisted it needed more gas therefore we had to put an additional $7.00 so that we would not be charged a fee. This was a horrible experience, we have always used Uhaul for all of our moves throughout the years, but frown on using you all again due to this horrible experience.
