They were fast and i was on my way home. After the move is over the last thing people want to do is spend alot of time returning rented equipment. They guys at this location were fast and efficient.

I ordered the truck on-line and was told the mileage fee was $1.09 when I arrived at the location they said it would be $1.29. The call was recorded so feel free to review it. The gas was marked at 1/4 of a tank but there was only 1/8 of a tank. I was told by David that if I filled it between 1/8 to 1/4 I would be reimbursed since it was below 1/4 of a tank and I would have to get gas sooner than if it was 1/4 of a tank. When I arrived back the new person said I would not be reimbursed but they would have someone call me the following day. No one ever called

The brakes on the trailer I rented did not work. I did not realize this until I went downhill for 7 miles and my trucks brakes (a 1 ton) began to struggle with the empty trailer. I could not load the trailer and repeat the downhill run so I just returned the trailer unused. No offer of a new trailer or a refund was given. I have used Uhaul a fair amount in the last 5 years and this was the first poor experience I have had.

Figure out away to speed up the check out process. Waiting in line for 40 minutes to rent a trailer that was reserved on line is a joke. Most of the information asked at the counter was the same information that I completed on the reservation!

This is a review of our last visit with u haul rental in august. I took my wife to Sausalito to pick up some important iteems to bring back to san jose in an enclosed larger truck. We ended up having to drive that 3 hour round trip with windows down all the way. the carbon minoxide in the truck was so overbearing that we both struggled to keep from falling asleep the entire time. Under the passenger seat side the heat was extreme and unbearable to the point of standing it for my wife, She had to put her feet up sideways heading toward the driver's seat to stop from having her feet and legs burning all the way home. This was a distressing experience to the point where we felt we should call Highway Patrol to get a tow truck. Instead we drove the rest of the way and we were both nauseated and sick. We could not use the air conditioner on that very hot day because of having to keep the windows open to avoid falling asleep on the road. Concentratiion was nearly impossible. When we arrived to take back the truck my husband spoke to the attendant on duty and explained what a day we had had with that truck. He nodded but said nothing else, like he would not charge for the truck and so we went home too exhausted to argue. We rent U-Haul trucks about 6-8 times a year and depend on them. We left knowing there would be another person driving that same truck the next day. At the time we pictured the next party whom may have taken the truck out and fallen asleep or gotten sick. No rent should be paid for these dangerous trucks with these problems. We have discussed calling the district attorney's office to investigate this sham. Putting people in danger should be the last thing u-haul would do. You have a fair business, people pay plenty for it and they should be able to trust being in a safe, healthy truck for trips.

The location was clean, the truck we rented was clean, but the service was VERY SLOW, EXTREMELY NON-COMMUNICATIVE NOR APOLOGETIC FOR THE EXCESSIVE WAIT TIMES BY THE EMPLOYEES. You need to train your employees to provide better customer service. A simple "sorry for the delay" and "thank you for waiting" makes all the difference in the world. We got none of that! We would not recommend this location because of the service aspect.

You call this a rating review?!!? Get real! I can describe my ordeal of using U-Haul in one word: nightmarish! How about adding this question: "Was your equipment there as promised"? Your service was so inept, you should refund some of my expenses or at the very least, offer me an apology for all the screw-ups you managed along the way. You have not heard the end of this yet, but a letter is on it's way.

Even with four employees present, I was forced to wait for only one employee who was taking care of all the customers in the store. No motivation on the part of the workers. I doubt I will ever use Uhaul again. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE!!!

Customer name: Tom Gage Contract No.: 27013531 Date of rental 8/29/14 I reserved a pickup truck and tow dolly at the Mountain View, CA location (62 El Camino Real). They did not have tow dolly so they sent me to the San Jose, CA location (705 Curtner Ave), 32 miles away round trip. Mt View said I would be credited 20 miles for the extra distance. (An insufficient compensation for my inconvenience, but appreciated nonetheless). The Curtner store said they could not credit the 20 miles, they would have to get a "VIP card" from the "traffic department". When I returned the vehicle that afternoon they did not have the "VIP card" and the traffic department was not answering the phone. The person I was dealing with (named MJ) assured me he would hold the billing until he got the "VIP card" from the "traffic department" , and that the bill would include the mileage credit. Today I received a billing amount by email indicating that a total of $177.84 had been billed to my credit card. There was no mileage credit for 20 miles. I called the Curtner location today and they told me I had to call the "traffic department". I said I would deal with them and they could deal with the "traffic department". The person I spoke to said she would have the "traffic department" call me and I gave her my cell number. They have not called me. If the billed amount appears on my credit card without the mileage credit, I will contest the charge. Needless to say I am very disappointed in the service I have received, starting with the failure to fulfill my reservation at the location that was specified by U-Haul, and followed by the runaround I've gotten and the lack of authority and accountability I've witnessed from everyone I've dealt with at U-Haul. Had to wait for previous customer to return trailer even though agreed pickup time was 7:00 am. Dispatch should insure equipment is available based on the reservation placed well in advance.

One suggestion would be to offer the option of a hitch lock for multiday use so that the trailer hitch could be locked at night when not in use. No a big deal, but would have given me peace of mind.

There was a 30+ minute wait to check in. I really do not like that trailers can not be ordered for more than 24 hours. I normally rent 20+ times a year and that is a huge inconvenience.
