you could have a van available at the location that was booked instead of making us drive miles out of the way to retrieve the van using additional time and gas. Seems that when one books a couple of weeks in advance uhaul could find a way to meet the customer's needs.

Nice and very efficient guy at the counter. Not the usual gruff charactor I've come to expect at equiptment rental type places. Easy process, fast and fair priced. No reason at all for paper to have exchanged hands. "Would you like a copy of the rental agreement emailed to you or a printed version?" That would have made it a modern retail experience. Waste of resources and your money to give me paper!!!!!!

First off, everything was great. When I returned the truck you were very fast and the service was excellent. It was as my friend and I were trying to leave the parking lot that we had an unpleasant exchange with another customer. A woman with dreads and ugly sandals with what appeared to be her girlfriend/boyfriend parked their van in the drop off lane but it blocked us from reversing out and exiting the parking lot. As my friend slowly backed up it was clear we could not get out because there was not enough space. We waited a bit all while they stared at us. Finally my friend asked if they could move the van a little more so we could leave. She responded with "Pretty sure you can figure a way to back up with out me moving the fucking van" as she hesitantly got in the van and pulled forward. While this was totally uncalled for it led me to think that maybe this could have been avoided if the drop off lanes were configured in a way that would not allow customers returning their trucks to block the customers that were parked in the parking lot. I realize space is probably limited so perhaps there's nothing that can be done. Thanks

The rental process was quick and efficient, and I was impressed by how easy it was to rent a moving truck. I needed to extend my rental first by one additional day, and then add another two additional days, and that was also handled quickly and easily. I got credit for extra moving boxes I didn't need. Excellent and knowledgeable customer service representatives.

I had a terrible experience with Uhaul in general. I was completely frustrated with the process and internally functions need to be improved heavily. I originally reserved a trailer from the Santa Clara location to be returned to Belmont. I received a text DAY OF that the trailer is no longer available and the closest available trailer was in Santa Cruz at 6pm. This would have taken at least 2 hours to pick up and bring back to my home. I called Uhaul once I received the text and was on the phone for ~45 minutes with a representative who seemed untrained and unable to properly search the locations I needed and lacked attention to detail when scheduling the dates. I was informed that I could rent a one-way Uhaul from San Jose, which is not what I requested, but since it was the only thing available I took it. I was also informed that there were no longer any more enclosed trailers. This caused inconvenience as I was planning to have all of my belongings covered in the travel. Because of this I had to buy additional materials to cover and hold in my belongings into the open trailer. Also, I would be spending additional gas to drive the trailer back from my apartment back to San Jose. I was on the phone with Uhaul everyday from Thurs (day of pick up) to Sunday. What a headache! It seemed that "no one" could help me as they kept referring me to another office or phone number to contact. In calling customer service, I was promised at $50 reservation guarantee. Then day of return of trailer, I was told that a manager wasn't there and they couldn't transact it at the moment. Sunday, I received a call from the manager trying to tell me that I did not qualify for the reservation guarantee - I told him that I had already spent time with customer service and they let me know that I did qualify and I would receive a refund. He eventually told me that I'd receive the refund. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE!!

I had to wait and then told to move my truck when returning. I also returned the truck with .25 gallons more gas then given. When I asked them to waive the 40 cents they said no. I was only .4 over and they said it counts as a mile?! I cannot believe they wouldn't wave 40 cents. Very poor customer service!

4 days before pickup I upgraded my reservation from a 14 ft box to 17 ft box truck. It was entered into the computer and I thought we were ok. But when I showed up to pickup the vehicle I was told that no one-way 17 foot trucks were available any where in the area and they still had me down for a 14 foot. It's my belief that communication between workers needs to be improved so that when a customer is told one thing that all personnel get the message. In this case they did give us a trailer to make up for the error but the inconvenience of having to load and tow the trailer made the move more difficult and not as planned.

The return was the only part that reduced my rating. Tried to insist that I had driven 20 miles, when I had only driven 10.8. Had to talk to a manager. Other than that, the rental was great.
