To begin, I didn't have a pre-determined drop-off location. Therefore, I picked this particular location because it seemed to be on the larger side and was fairly convenient. I called before I arrived to verify that I could drop the vehicle off there. When I arrived I was unpleasantly greeted by a tall black man. He seem very annoyed with my arrival telling me that if this was not the designated drop-off location, U-Haul would charge me $150 (or something like that). I explained that I didn't not have a designated drop-off location. He asked to see my paperwork and, after going through it, determined that everything was ok although he still seemed annoyed. I then told him the truck would not come out of park and wanted to show him how the "Roadside Assistance" guy showed me to get around the problem. He was totally disinterested and told me that if I had a problem, I should have called for roadside assistance. I informed him that I had. Basically, he was wondering why I was driving it if it had a problem. He then went on to tell me that if the vehicle would not come out of park then I should not have been driving it because U-Haul is "liable". I told him that when you've spent the entire day packing-up a truck and it's now 7:30 pm, you’re tired, hungry and worn-out, you don't want to sit around for 2 hours waiting for roadside assistance. He went on to defend his position and I just let it go. After he inspected the truck and auto transport, he handed me my paperwork and told me, "you're free to go". From his perspective, that was it. From my perspective, this guy was a total ass. I took issue with his total lack on concern for me, my business or anything. He told me, "I'm not going to listen to this" and walked away. I continued to following him trying to talk to him but he wouldn't have any of it. I could go on but it was just more of the same until I finally left. Bottom line - this guy is the antithesis of "Customer Service". I'm not looking for anyone to kiss my read-end but just be courteous and thoughtful. There was no concern or apology on behalf of U-Haul that we were "broken down" whatsoever. NONE. His role (or position) is "Customer Service". It's the customers that keep the business (all businesses) in business. That’s how it works. That mind-set may be reflected by those running the company but it seems to lost on this guy. What’s this guy’s role, to drive away customers? He’s very successful in that regard. Ok, I'll stop rambling. I'm just still in total disbelief. I did get a return call from the store manager and she was very nice and apologetic. My thanks to her.

So I am going to be very honest because as a district manager in a fortune 100 company great help is hard to find, and when you find special talent they deserve to be recognized. The biggest asset to any organization are its people and the manager I met today at your location was unbelievable her name was Della. When I walked into the location the lady helping me seemed young and not familiar with uhaul policies when I inquired about storage. Della immediately stepped in and offered to help, the unit wasn't even at her location but she realized at the end of the day she still represents the organization and the team is greater than one sale. I saw her interacting with other customers and making recommendations based on the connection she made. I saw on her badge that it said owner so I asked her about it and she advised me of the opportunity she had to buy stock into the company, and on top of that she knew the stock price of the organization! I'm hopeful my employees know the CEO let alone recite the stock price it shows she cares deeply about the brand. In the last 5 years I have taken two surveys up till know one was for a horrible experience and the other for Della it's rare you find someone like her she's one of a kind. This lady needs a promotion to area level because the impact she has on her people and those around her really shine thru. I close with this often times people lead by there title, not this employee she leads by her actions everyday. Take care of her she is a true gift:) Thanks Della for making me a loyal U Haul Customer! Andrew

I am extremely upset that U haul took it upon themselves to charge $118.00 for fuel. This is blatant dishonesty and an act of greed. The vehicle was cleaned and returned with more fuel than required and I expect a full refund. Without a doubt the young woman waiting on me Della Burrows is a major credit to your organization. She was most friendly, extremely professional managing our needs and went above and beyond what any other employee of UHAUL I have worked with in the past has done. She is a credit to your organization and must be a valued Team Member. AS for the the rest of her staff I met only one and did not get her name but she too was very helpful and very courtesy.
