The centers (both ways) aren't Uhaul's problem. The staff are great and helpful. However, it is simply unacceptable to tell us less than 24 hours prior to pick up that the closest size truck you can offer is 20', when we asked to reserve a 26' truck. We understand going down to 24 or 22 even, but 20? We ended up having to leave behind $1,000's in personal property and will never use Uhaul again.

First and for most, I am extremely disappointed in U-Haul. Not only was my life put in danger from the rented equipment, but the amount of stress I had to endure was unbearable, both mentally and physically. The vehicle rented to me should have never been allowed to leave the U-Haul lot. It should have been decommissioned and not allowed to be rented locally much less an 1800 mile trip. Please find a list of equipment malfunctions: 1. Both front tires are out of spec and worn. This caused the front end to pull from side to side. 2. The power steering was not working. 3. Previous major damage from before was not repaired before the vehicle was rented to me. Front end damage and box damage. The box U-Haul graffics were missing on one side. It was beat up and had "x's" from front to rear. 4. Exhaust fumes filled the cabin. This was unbearable and made me sick a multitude of times. Especially driving through the desert. 5. The window gaskets were worn and did not have a seal making the exhaust fumes worse and not to mention the ac was un-effective due to the lack of seals. 6. The humming sounds the seals would make became unbearable and extremely annoying. 7. The interior cab light had a short. 8. The truck pulled off the road by itself over three times. I can't imagine someone who has not had experience behind heavy equipment driving the vehicle, as I am sure the truck would have caused an accident, especially with the construction on Interstate. 9. Truck would cut out and sputter. 10. The overdrive did not work and caused an extra 800.00 dollars in fuel cost. That is just the beginning of the flaws on the vehicle rented to me. The Baytown, Texas U-Haul agreed and said that they vehicle should never had been released, as it was a road hazard. I am requesting a full refund on the rental to my VISA card used for the rental. The total amount I am requesting is $2671.09, plus an extra $800.00 for additional fuel cost. Please refund $3471.09 to my VISA card. Also please be advised that the moving service I booked for on the U-Haul site was not available at the booked and confirmed times per the U-Haul website. I had to pay extra too load the entire vehicle. I understand that times are tough, but for a U-Haul shop to rent out dangerous equipment because they do not want to take the time to properly repair vehicles when they have been damaged, is unacceptable and is not in the the spirit of the U-Haul brand. The only thing this place has going for it is convenience. Staff does not care about customer service, and seems troubled if they have to help. The only way to fix this place is to fire everyone who works there and build a new culture. Also, get rid of the hustlers/homeless who hang out on the lot looking for work.

The only problem I encountered was the fact that the gas gauge reading in the computer was inaccurate. It read 5/8 in the computer but when the gentlemen brought the truck to me to inspect, we both saw it was barely past half way. This caused problems when I went to turn the vehicle in. The gentlemen was very nice at the drop off location because he identified the problem immediately. This issued would have cost me an extra $13.97. U-Haul has improved a lot and your customer service was outstanding.

The staff at this location are very organized. I was greeted almost immediately upon arrival and checking out was a breeze. I was even offered a cup of coffee. Everyone there was friendly and in a good mood, and that has to do with the manager on duty. great job and courteous staff.
