I arrived at the p/u location at 8:55. Then had a 35 minute wait standing in line. There were 3 people ahead of me and three employees. Unfortunately, only one employee was working with customers. The other two were outside in parking lot.

I think it's a poor representation on the company to not provide courtesy parking on the lot. Customers must drive their vehicle down the arterial and around the corner to a sketchy side street in order to park. Then we have to walk a block back to the lot. Major hassle and doesn't show appreciation to the customers. Staff seem casual and laggard, like that of a US post office employee. Vehicles are in good shape though; I can tell you take pride in them.

The fuel tank was almost empty when I rented the truck. The manager acted like she had an attitude and I didn't like the fact she was so non chalant. It will be a while before I use uhaul again.

Service was very slow. This was no fault of the staff. The single service employee, the store manager, was extremely helpful and went above and beyond. Overall staffing was inadequate to keep up with the customer demand.

I ended up at this location after my original 8 hour reservation got changed to a 4-hour reservation at a different location (Rainer Ave). Now, I understand that U-Haul makes more money renting vehicles in 4 hour chunks while advertising 24-hour rates, but if I make an 8-hour reservation days in advance, then I expect U-Haul to honor it and not change it unilaterally and without my consent. When I showed up at the original reservation location, I was told this occurred because I made a reservation "on the Internet". I don't understand where else I am supposed to make a reservation - on the toilet, maybe? Either way, I was sent off to another location that happened to have available pick-ups, but only after having my car blocked in with U-Haul trucks and a U-Haul employee rudely lecturing me on how he "doesn't feel bad about it" and how "next time he's going to have me wait much longer to unblock it". This is not the first time U-Haul made this kind of unauthorized reservation change. I would suggest next time a customer reserves a vehicle for 8 hours, you honor the 8-hour reservation, and while you're at it, provide some of your employees additional customer service training since they have to be made aware that they are there to serve the customer, not the other way around. I have rented at U-Haul 12 times in the last year, but if this trend continues, I will switch to a competitor. You are still not a monopoly like Comcast, so don't act like one.

Misha was very helpful and friendly, but there were no other employees either time I went. There is a notice on the door that they are hiring... they should get on that. My wait to be helped was over 30 minutes, that is the time between walking in and seeing an employee visually. Even the efforts of one great worker get overshadowed when customers have to endure long waits. I watched you guys lose business with 2 customers while I waited. Hire more people fast or send some temporary help from another location.

Hi, Everything was fine up until after having returned the truck, we realized that we had probably left a camera in the truck. It had important pictures of out daughters wedding. We went directly back UHaul just wanting to look through the cab. The attendant on duty was not willing to let us do that saying he could not "open up the computer files" even though they have hard copies of the rental agreement, and he said we would have to come back or call the next day. My daughter remembered that we had an Email receipt from UHaul so she printed it and went back. She had the license plate # of the particular truck we used on the information, went to the employee who insisted that it was not the truck sitting right in the parking lot. She insisted that it was, the #'s matched and that she wanted to search the trucks cab. After much insistence the attendant finally let us do so and sure enough there was the camera. Customers should not have to jump through hoops over simple requests like this and we were left with the belief that if we had not been insistent the camera would have "disappeared" by the next day. When customers come making simple requests they should be respected and helped not hindered in resolving any problem. Thank you, Julie Massart

Don't forget the moving blankets. Reservation system was a little messy - I would have preferred to get the uHaul from West Seattle, not Rainier Valley but it worked out in the end.
