The whole UHaul rental experience was disappointing. We rented a 26' truck on the internet, only to be told the next day that there weren't any 24' available (we did not order a 24' , we ordered a 26'). Then we were told there were no 26' available, either and we would have to go all the way to Southfield to get a big enough truck, which was way out of our way. The truck only had 1/8 tank of gas so we had to stop and get more. There were only 2 people working the location and the wait time was long. The truck was good and ran well, but the window on the driver's side went off the track and would not close -- in the pouring rain. We had to put a tarp over it while we were unloading so the interior did not get wet and called roadside assistance to come out to fix it. They were able to get it up but were advised not to put it down again. They said they would credit us $50 for all the hassle -- but we had to pay the entire rental contract first and then the credit would show up on our credit card in 2-3 weeks.

Have a second employee checking out the trucks. One guy the wait was about 20+min not bad considering it was 4 or 5 people ahead of me...and the a/c does not work well , it was very hot in the lobby

Not necessary only this location, I believe. The issue I had more was when I made reservation. I had to call back several times because I see something wrong every time I check the confirmation. While I spoke several different people, no one is necessary nice although I am asking to fix the mistakes they made. The pick up time was wrong, the pick up locatin was different from what I was originally told, the price of the insurance changed, and one of the trucks wasn't available that we had to take smaller size. Very convenient service, but very frustrating experience.

The back of the van had not been swept out and the top back rack rattled until my son fixed it. The vehicle did not have a full tank of gas at the start. U-Haul charges a person $5 per gallon for not refueling a vehicle which any one with a bit of common sense knows that that means a vehicle should always be full at the time of rental. It is easier to return a vehicle full than it is to try to guesstimate how much you need to put in to get it back to where you started at. Also the person that is at the counter when you pick up the vehicle should explain to you what the procedure is if no one is at the office when you return. This company should have more available personal at rental desks and should be trained better on fully explaining the rental and return policy. Any other rental place I have used including other U-Haul agencies were much more informative.

The cargo van was clean and in good condition. However, the gas indication at 7/8 full, on paper, was really just over 1/2 in the truck. There was only one person at the desk with 6 or 7 people in line. Very slow pick up and return. This was more the fault of the customers (what size should we get? do we need boxes? when do we pick up Aunt Agnes? etc. The man at the desk did roll his eyes, discreetly, but was very patient in spite of the grumbles from those waiting.

Charged me for fuel incorrectly. The local facility has never answered the phone. National call center refuses to send a receipt for fuel credit, which is a terrible policy.Made me feel like I did something wrong and they were doing me a favor by crediting my account.Takes 5 days to issue a credit which with no receipt requires me, the customer, to follow up. Terrible experience that will make me call Budget Rental next time I have a rental need and also I will recommend Budget Rental to anyone that asks.
