The person behind the counter was helpful busy not knowledgeable. We were sent on a ghost chase for a trailer that I needed for one way only to find out that they don't rent that one one way than the one they did get me had a bad tire and I had to cal roadside to have somebody come out and change it because they didn't do that there.

Equipment was clean - however it "squeeked" during our entire ride. Something was rubbing against something and we couldn't figure how to alleviate it ourselves - I told them about it at drop off. I hope they fixed it before the next rental - it was quite awful.

I originally ordered a 26' truck from the Westfield, MA store. My pick up was supposed to be Saturday at 5:30 p.m., I called Westfield to see if I could pick up the truck a little earlier than scheduled and was informed that both 17' trucks were out. To which I explained that I ordered a 26' truck, not a 17'. The person on the phone said they had changed my order to a 17' because their 26' was "down". When I asked why they had changed my order and did not feel the need to inform me, I was told that they sent me a text. All the text said was that my order would be ready at 5:30 on Saturday at the westfield store! So the employee looked around and found a truck in Springfield that matched my needs. I asked the employee what they could do to reimburse me for the trouble, and he replied that they would cover my extra mileage because they made a mistake. When I brought this up to the assistant manager at the springfield store, he literally laughed in my face. Then proceeded to explain (in an extremely condescending manner) I quote " I don't care what westfield told you, I'm the assistant manager, uhaul is a corporation and we make our money off of miles. You asking me for reimbursement is like going to McDonald's and trying to get a big Mac for 50 cents." which is strange.. I figured uhaul would make more money off of happy customers and respectful employees. Which in this case you have neither. I've never seen such awful customer service. Even if there is nothing they could've done, the way I was spoken to was unnacceptable. And my experience was the worst customer service I've ever seen.

An adapter was needed to connect trailer's cable to car's system. This is a one time use item! In stead of forcing a sale, why not rent the adapter for an additional $1 or $2?

Was very disappointed that after I asked if the truck had A/C and was told it did, but when I tried to use it it didn't work, made for a very hot ride, not to happy about that!!

The employee was sitting in a very low chair (instead of the taller stool) during our entire transaction - I had to constantly look down at him and keep asking him to repeat what he said - Employees should be at eye level with customers and not sitting in lounge chairs at the counter when dealing with customers.

I reserved a pick up truck thru the call center, however, when I arrived at the location, the pick up truck was not available and would not be returned for 4 hours. the customer rep at the Boston road location arranged for me to have another truck which would meet my needs. He saved the day for me.

Very very dissapointed. I selected a pickup location that YOU gave me from a few choices. On the pickup date, I was informed that I would be picking it up FROM A DIFFERENT LOCATION. Not only did that really mess my plans up, but the employee at the other location very arrogantly said "oh yea, sometime we can have you drive 50 miles to a different location cause it's not guaranteed that it'll be where you first select it." Whaaaaat?!?!? You would be out of business if YOU told a customer to go here, and later said "now you have to go here". If you give specific location, you as a company should do whatever needed to make sure that it's there!!!

Accurately report fuel level, both, when renting and when receiving. Make sure that dolly has the green seal (it was missing). Brakes were faulty.

Equipment was picked up at Springfield, MA location and the U-haul employee never bothered to explain how to use the trailer hitch. Employee (Papamarkakis) was quite rude and seemed like he hated his job. We were simply handed the keys and sent on our way. Our trip was from Massachusetts to Florida but after only a few hours truck broke down due to a faulty transmission line. Was towed 30 minutes in the opposite direction of our destination and it took over 5 hours from when we broke down to when we were checked into a hotel. Also discovered front bumper did not have screws on holding it in place on the passenger side. A one day trip turned into four days because the service provider (Auto Barn in Baltimore, MD) contracted to do the repairs took two days to make a simple repair which would otherwise take an hour. Even after the truck was "repaired" it continued to die on us on the way. WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! Will never do business with U-Haul again and will make sure to let social media know all the details of our horrific experience.
