Please employ more staff around the end of the day. When I returned the pickup I rented, I pulled up to the area marked for returning vehicles. The sign said to be patient and that an employee would be with me soon. I waited for 3-5 minutes, and just decided to park the pickup in a parking space, which wasn't a real incovenience. There are plenty of parking spaces near the door. I went inside to find the only employee inside the store helping another customer with a rental. He apologized for any inconvenience. He informed me that the only other person currently working was his assistant manager who was currently filling a line of UPS trucks with propane. I feel it isn't fair to the employees working at that time, nor the customers to have more tasks than two people can do efficiently on their queue. This may have been a random occurrence, but should be addressed to the hiring/staffing manager all the same. My total drop off time was reasonable, around 15 minutes total.

The people I met in person at the Campbell U-Haul were incredibly friendly and helpful. My only difficulty was in trying to call them--the first time it transferred me to the national U-Haul line and the second time when I intended to speak to someone at the front desk, I got someone elsewhere. It was a winning staff, a neatly kept store and I'd recommend it to others without question.

I walked in and was helped by Mr. JACOB BARNTS the assistant manager of the Campbell location in Springfield. The customer service that i received from Jacob was the WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I can understand if it was really busy but I was the only one there picking up my uhaul for my move. I asked what the total was gonna be and he kept asking me to swipe the card without explaining that it was for identity purposes. I asked him to refuel the truck to full so i can just bring it back full and Jacob rudely told me that they do not refuel there. I asked him nicely if he has another truck with higher gas, his rude response was "at least it's not a quarter of a tank" and left it at that. I was completely baffled by how rude Mr Barnts was. Like I said I can understand if the location was completely busy but I was the only one there and there were other employees that could've fueled up the vehicle. After dealing with the horrible customer service from Jacob, I signed the papers and it said 5/8 tank. I went out to check the truck and the gas was at 1/2. I went inside to talk to Jacob and told him it was 1/2. He went to check the vehicle and came back and rudely told me that the vehicle is 1/16th above 1/2. He reprinted the papers and THREW them at me. I can understand a bad day, but this? Not only that but he gives me a Truck with a giant crack in the windshield in the drivers side. I am sorry but if this is how UHAUL teaches their assistant managers to handle customer service, then you will never see my business here ever again and I will refer my business and those of my friends to a different trucking company.

The truck I received was clean, but it was very worn out. the steering was very loose and the A/C squealed from the time I picked it up until the service man deemed it un-repairable. The unit was given to me with a bolt broken off that held the a/c to the engine block.

it was like night and day from pick up to drop off. The drop off location in springfield was clean, the employees were extremely nice, and very apologetic of the experience from the pick up site. highly recommend this site.

When we dropped the truck off at the Springfield location we explained what had happened and that we were told a refund was possible. The person working said the truck was not a Springfield truck and Columbia had to deal with the problem. I was appalled by the treatment we received at Springfield and at the disrepair of the truck we had to use.

As someone who holds a CDL and drives commercial vehicles, I find it appalling that this location allowed me to leave the lot with a truck that had a potentially fatal flaw in it. When I left the lot, whoever had performed maintenance failed to secure all the lines from the Hydroboost system which allowed the fluid to leak and spray all over the engine which then meant that I had no brakes or power steering on the truck. It's one thing if that's a personal vehicle that I'm responsible for - it's another thing entirely if that vehicle is maintained and rented and the renter is to assume that all is in good working order. This could have been a tragic mistake with serious consequences. What if I would have had the unit loaded down with 10,000 lbs and then went to hit the brakes only to discover that I didn't have them nor could I steer the vehicle to avoid any cars or pedestrians in front of me? This was a SERIOUS mistake on your part - and to only compensate me $50 of my rental when you put my life and potentially other lives in danger along with taking 6 hours out of my moving schedule so we could get it fixed is quite frankly unacceptable. You have my information if you would like to contact me.
