my honest opinion is that this office is very great . i dont think they need any improvement. the people here are very frendly and honest and very helpful. they explain everything then ask if we needed or had any questions. i will let all my friends know to come to this uhaul becuase they will go beyond to make sure your happy and satisfied.

My husband and I did not have a good experience at all. The location that we picked it up from obviously could care less about its customers. When we arrived there the process took almost an hour. The guy made out our contract in the wrong name and assured us we would have no problems with it, well that was a LIE. He chose the wrong location for us to drop off the truck which was 45 miles from where we lived and said all I needed to do was to call the 1-800 # and have them change it. So that is what I did but when I called they told me there was nothing they could do and that if I dropped it off where I lived I would be charged extra. I will not be renting from U-Haul again.

My boyfriend and I used the Uhaul dealer in Summerville, SC and were beyond dissapointed. His appointment was at 10 am for a 6'x12' trailer. He went into the uhaul office, which looked trashy and had no ac, only to be told that the previous renter did not drop it off. My boyfriend was not called prior to coming in about the trailer not being available for his move. The manager did not apologize for the inconvenience or try and call other companies to see if something could be done. The manager lead my boyfriend to believe that the previous renter may be okay with them picking up the trailer from her house. My boyfriend waited over two and a half hours to get the trailer and was completely jerked around by this uhaul dealer. The dealer even had my boyfriend go outside and read vin numbers on trailers to help him with his own work. I find this to be extremely unprofessional. I came to the dealership at 12:20 pm to be with my boyfriend since we had plans that day. As I walked up to the front door two other women were waiting outside the business's locked door. There was no sign stating why it was locked, so we all walked around to the back of the office. Once in the back, I saw the manager hooking up the exact trailer my boyfriend had reserved onto another man's truck. My boyfriend told me the trailer was in the back the whole time but the manager gave it to this other man because he has spent more money with his business. This was the worst example of customer service i have ever witnessed. After the manager was done helping the man with the trailer I said that my boyfriend has been waiting since ten and we would like to know what is going on. The manager became abruptly rude with me saying, "Young lady young lady you want me to end this right now? This is the only trailer in Orangeburg, Charleston, and Goose Creek!!!" I said that he cannot expect us to be happy when he has kept us waiting so long. He then turns toward my boyfriend and said,"That's it I'm done. It's over. I work for myself and answer to no one" and walked off inside. I was in such shock that the manager would talk to me in such a poor manner. He was irate, defensive, and argumentative. I left the business crying and terribly upset. The manager told my boyfriend that they cannot pick up the trailer because he was afraid I would call Uhaul customer service and complain. We wasted half the day at this establishment and not only did not get a trailer but also, were treated like scum. He did not apologize during the whole two plus hours, yelled at me for asking a question, had my boyfriend doing chores for him, and gave someone else the trailer we rented. I highly doubt Uhaul would want a man with the characteristics he showed representing them. We will never use this man's "business" again nor recommend anyone to him. We are both still very upset about how we were jerked around and treated so poorly and would like to see something done about the manager's behav

We dropped the unit after closing. The next morning I received an email receipt for a $10 charge. I called the location and the owner proceeded to yell at me that I returned a dirty trailer. He said he could tell I had swept it, but the he could have charged me "a lot more" for the "rope" I left tied in there. I had to ask him to stop yelling. I tried to tell him about the running lights, but he said I had to take that up with UHaul. It was not his responsibility.

An hours of operation sign was posted on the entrance door, but no times were written in the blank spaces. Out of the four times I stopped by the office in person during normal business hours, the employee was only there once and he was on his way out the door for a dental appointment. I ended up just turning the truck in after business hours because I couldn't find the employee in the office when I was ready to turn in the truck.

I thought the salesman had little patience with me on the phone. I was happy that he put me in another vehicle to guarantee that I would have one. I was not happy overall since my drop off and pick up location has changed from the original locations I had reserved.

Service was a little slow. Waiting over 30 minutes to actually get in the truck and drive away. Figured ordering online would expedite the process, but it didn't help much. Was given some extra time with the truck to make up for it. Not bad!

It is not Uhaul in general themselves, It is the man that is working for that location. For starters he has been calling me by my middle name. I have told him several times that my first name is Laura. Then he puts my reservations in as my middle name. Second of all he quoted me at $280.00 for the destination I was going to. He goggled it on the computer about how many miles I would travel. On the day of my arrival to pick up my reservation and the truck which was July 5, 2014 and my return date was July 6,2014. He says the gentleman who has the truck your suppose to get, is going to be late. I am going to put you in another one but it will have to be back by 12:00 pm. I said that's impossible for me to do. Then he says I'll give you another one. Well the one he gave me was missing a side circle mirror on the passenger side. He says maybe it came from the previous person that had it before you. That's good you took the full coverage on the truck cause it will cover that. It was missing before I had taken the truck. Then to finally sum a long story short. No one was their to return the truck to. Their was a drop box on the outside of the door that say please place keys in drop box. As there was no one in there at 12:00pm. To turn my information in to. Then he calls me an hour later and says how far did you drive, I told him. And then he goes on to say AAAWWW!! I have messed up. I quoted you wrong. I'm sorry about that. I said," Now you tell me when I bring the truck back." He never told me this until I returned the truck. He had already drafted my account the day I picked up my rental for $161.00 and some change. Here we are three weeks later he has drafted my account for $475.00. But when I called Uhaul customer service they said $423.42 was debited from my account today. The man had over-drafted my account extremely. Put my bank account in the negative with an overdraft fee from my bank Included. The total of my quote was $280.00,he should have only taken the difference from what I paid and the remaining balance what I owed when I returned the Uhaul. That place is a disaster. Now I am having to dispute to get my money back on what he over charged me. And fill out this survey to explain my experience with the man that works for uhaul. All I want back is the money owed to me that he over charged me. This is my first and last experience with that Uhaul location.

Online shipping supplies should be delivered at least a day before the truck is rented. The supplies that I ordered was sent back because it was going to arrived the day before I had to turn the truck in and I had a one way.

The store in Portsmouth, VA i recommend in emergencies have another store call your clients to inform them that there will be a delay if you cannot be there. It kind of slowed us down in road travel n other delays. Im not extremely angry because i understand the situation "He" had with his wife. IM A MOM so i really do understand. One more thing... there was a "glitch" in the computer while processing my reservation. I would make the reservation and when it was time to come in it was made on "another date" which was confusing for The Uhaul Company to reproces my reservation correctly. Nevertheless i appreciate all of your help regardless of a few inconviences. Please tell Mr Willie hello on monticello ave in norfolk, va. Thank you.
