I made a reservation online and confirmed my pick-up in Mountain View. Shortly after I received a phone call from this random proprietor in Sunnyvale that the original location did not have my size truck, but that they would give me a larger truck for the same price and an additional mileage. It sounded like an okay deal but it made my moving plans far more complicated. Going for it was a big mistake. The location was unsafe, difficult to find, and the owner of this store was far more interested in selling lottery tickets, junk food, and alcohol than doing a safety check before renting a truck. I was extremely lucky that I had no problems with the truck itself for a 500+ mile move but I will never work with that location again.

Hoppy, the proprietor of the rental pick up store,
was friendly and helpful. I had a very positive
experience. The bed of the truck was absolutely
clean.
I would like to see uhaul offer utility dollies with
larger wheels for transporting boxes up and down stairs. The utility and appliance dollies currently available for rental through uhaul are inadequate for this purpose.

Seems odd at first glance, because it's combined with a convenience store - but it's convenient!
Very professional, good attitude.
Little parking for renters, tho....
Still, I recommend it for convenience & quality.

Staff was helpful and the truck was in good repair.
The one downside was the lack of parking for my car while I used the truck for the day.

The owner was EXTREMELY courteous and nice. Maybe the location wasn't terrific for an out of towner, but his attitude was superb. I mean this guy is a Jewell. I would go back in a heartbeat and drive out of my way to deal with the guy. If uhaul has awards, this guy should get one!

The person renting to me had a keen knowledge of what I would require and what I wouldn't. For example, I had not booked a dolly but had 3 dozen furniture pads. He said it would be much more likely for me to use a dolly and just 1 dozen furniture pads.

When I reserved the Uhaul truck, I was not informed that the smaller truck did not have a ramp and I was told I had I could only rent for 5 hour slot. My mover informed me that I can rent the truck for 24 hours. When I spoke to Uhaul they said they advertise for only 4to 5 hours at a time. Then when I mentioned the 24 hours rent time I should have asked. Too me a good customer service would have mentioned that to me.

The Asian fellow running the place this am is very efficient. Running a mini-mart same time as the UHaul return, but quick and knew exactly what he was doing. I had my receipt in email before I got home, myself!
