Fuel gauge on truck would not move when refilling the truck or driving down the road. After a while it jumped to 3/4 of a tank when I only needed to fill it to half a tank. When I asked for compensation for approximately 15 to twenty dollars worth of gas, I was not only denied but told I owed another 8.69 on the bill. You should have the gauge repaired so customers don't overpay because it is a gift your company does not repay. Last time I use uhaul and will warn my friends and family to think twice as well.

It was a mess.. overcharged when picked up... took days to release the hold on our funds.. no one would use a letterhead from UHAUL to explain the error made which accounted for the lack of funds available to us for OUR USE TO PAY PEOPLE WAITING FOR OUR MONEY.. then, after insurance sent UHAUL a check for the entire bill and it was rec'd and processed, out debit card was hit AGAIN.. it was rectified immediately by a very helpful person in the credit management department BUT i lost HOURS of my time handling all these screw ups. I would NEVER use UHAUL again.... You might change the insane system which doesn't allow a message be left for the store, instead an unanswered call gets bounced to the arizona headquarters and they'll "TRY" to see if they can message the store and have them "be intouch" (an unsuccessful system on more than one occasion).. all in all the MOST INFURIATING EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD WITH ANY BUSINESS AND I"M A BUSINESS OWNER MYSELF... IN MY 50'S SO I'VE HAD PLENTY OF EXPERIENCE WITH ALL KINDS OF BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS.

My entire U-haul experience was a nightmare. I reserved a truck, The night before my scheduled pick-up i was called and informed that the truck i reserved would not be available so I would have to drive an extra 25 minutes to get the truck I wanted. I mentioned the U-Haul guarantee and was told after some insisting and explaining that I would get a $50 guarantee credited to my account (NOT EVEN ENOUGH TO COVER THE MILEAGE DIFFERENCE) I still have not received the credit. So after driving to the alternate location and picking up the truck the move went seamless, the truck was in good order and clean. The truck was returned the same day with the keys and contract in the after hours box. 2 days later i got a "text" from U-haul corporate traffic stating the return was overdue and wondering when I would be bringing it back. I then called the taunton location who informed me that the truck had bean there the entire time however they had failed to check it in. They did correct the bill and i wasn't charged for the extra days but way more of a hassle and stress then it was worth...........

The Hamden location had entered the wrong vehicle I'd for the truck I drove. The Taunton location had to correct the error before I could check out on the return.

I Booked 3 Day's in advance truck was great i booked a storage which was supposed to be on first floor, i asked the representative 3times 1st Floor as i tried a month ago they told me they were hard to get ,so when the opportunity came up for afirst floor i garb it.I also have to go back and get door card to have access to my storage on Monday customer service was Horrible 1hr to get truck and storage, need to put cell phone off at work. Thank you

Make sure ALL fluids are filled in the vehicle being rented. My truck had no windshield washer fluid on a morning after it had snowed so my windshield was very dirty and when I got to the nearest place to get some fluid I could just barley see out of the windshield. The requirement is to return u-haul with 1/4 of a tank of fuel but how is that fair to the customer to put more gas in the vehicle than what they received it with? And lastly upon returning the vehicle the associate who checked me out checked the mileage and came back and spoke it aloud and I was highly disappointed due to the fact I reset the mileage to track how many miles before I had even fastened my safety belt in which I due before starting the engine but it was already running. He added an additional 16.3 miles. For me I will never rent a U-Haul again in my future sadly. As I will be going to Penske in 3 day and then I will go back depending if I'm treated somewhat decent 4 days after that. and hope if it's more expensive that the equipment I am renting is properly operable and all fluids are filled and checked and the associates do their jobs correctly. I am highly disappointed as I figured U-Haul is a big company and thought they would have their things together better than I experienced.

Worst experience. I called on Wednesday to pick up the trailer on Sat at 2:00. When I got there the trailer was buried in more than a foot of packed snow. We had to sit while two staff members tried to dig it out. After diging for 20 min we tried to pull the trailer out and got the truck stuck. Not once did any if the staff at the location say they where sorry for not getting the trailer ready before I got there. I ended up having to reschedule for next week. When I spoke with the two people on they did not say there were sorry for my absolutely horrible experience or offer a discount on my resechdule for next week. Also I was initially told my credit card would not be charged until I returned the trailer. When I called to reschedule I was informed I was infact charged. My suggestion is to have your staff look at the inventory going out that day and make sure the product is in working order BEFORE the customer gets there. Also work with staff on their customer service skills. Had the two men at the counter not been so busy playing with their cell phones maybe the trailer would have been ready And I would be sending a very different message.

I made a reservation to pick up a trailer a day in advance. When I arrived at my pick up time the trailer I reserved was plowed in and buried in 3 feet of snow 25 feet back from the cleaned part of parking lot. I myself had to shovel out a path and pull the trailer through the snow to get it. The uhaul employee working that day was there shoveling and assisting me in getting it out. But that is unacceptable. The store knew there was a reservation made for that specific piece of equipment at a certain time. They should of had it already out cleaned and ready for pick up. Or at least should have put the equipment unavailable or out of service. I didn't have time to go to another location to get a similar trailer that day. So I needed to get that one. But most people would certainly not good through the hassle I had to go through to rent a trailer for one day! Totally unacceptable. The store's procedures and planning for inclamate weather need some serious attention! I've used haul many previous times without issue. This was absolutely the worst experience I have had. I will definitely second guess reccomending anyone to use that location again.

the truck had cigarettes ashes in it the truck smelled of smoke there was no fluid in water wipers the sunviser was broke kept falling on the windshield it was just a very bad truck

My vehicle was damaged in pickup, the passenger side mirror was broken and would not stay in place, causing me to lose all visibility on the passenger side during a trip north of Boston. This created a very dangerous situation at several points during my trip. The manager seemed hung over or stoned when I picked up, and the location was understaffed with only one associate when I dropped off that evening. The evening associate was very nice and efficient, but very overworked.
