The facility was small and crowded with packing materials, but it was neat and clean. The manager, Sergio, was very helpful and supportive. The truck was in good shape except that the driver's side door lock was broken. Attempts to resolve this failed, so a small credit was offered and accepted. A design concern with the truck is that the brake pedal was either too high or too small or both, since I needed to raise my braking foot a lot higher than usual to stop or slow down.

I would have given an overall rating of excellent had the special heavy duty lock I bought from U-Haul worked on the back of the box truck. The long did not open wide enough to allow me to use that lock. I had to go to a local store to purchase another lock.

When arriving at 9am Saturday May 2nd the doors were still locked, as the only employee there (Wesley) was checking in UHAUL for customer outside. People were waiting outside to get in to store. Seemed a bit unprofessional but not too bad. :) Maybe having another staff member there would have helped. Josh

The two gentlemen at the facility (one was the Gen. Mgr.) had an outstanding handle on customer service. They were intelligent, competent and expedient. It is the best of the rental locations I have ever dealt with.

I was very dissatisfied with my experience with the 1212 Earnest S. Brazil St. U-Haul service I received. I picked up the vehicle as reserved. The vehicle had not been cleaned and the last renter must have had a dog in the cab of the vehicle because there was literally dog hair everywhere. The dog hair was totally embedded into the cloth seats of the driver and passenger seats (Pictures were taken and are available). I was covered in dog hair when I got out of the vehicle. When I told the staff at U-Haul of the condition of the vehicle when I had picked it up they responded by stated “yeah we know we were gonna have it cleaned”. How about don’t rent a vehicle to someone that you know is not clean especially when it is the interior of the cab that is not clean. Next I did not visually inspect the fuel gage when I rented the vehicle because I expected that the company would be honest with their business practices (BIG mistake) always check. I rented the vehicle at 545 miles and returned it at 571 miles (these numbers provided by U-Haul on my bill) (I drove the truck for a total of 26 miles according to U-Haul, it sounds about right by my calculations). At the time of vehicle turn in I estimated that I had used 2 gallons of gas (26 miles divided by 2 gallons of gas, 12-13 miles per gallon) I replaced 3 gallons of gas in the vehicle before returning it just to be safe. I returned the vehicle at 7:10 pm, they closed at 7:00 PM though they were still in the office and the business doors were still open, but, If they are closed, they are closed, I get that. According to my bill the vehicle was not checked in the next morning until 9:57 AM even though they opened at 7:00 AM. On my bill U-Haul charged me for 3.2 gallons of gas at $4.25 per gallon, total price: $13.60. That breaks down to the rental van only getting 8.125 miles per gallon. And that is not including the 3 gallons of gas that I put into the vehicle. If you include the 3 gallons of gas I put in the van only got 4.0265 miles to the gallon. No does either of those numbers sound even close to reality? I was and am very suspect of these facts. When I called to speak with them about it on the phone a call center answer’s their phone and stated that they were not there at the time of rental so did not verify the fuel before I took the vehicle but I could call customer service to complain. This again is an unsatisfactory response on a clearly unethical business transaction. What can customer service do when the store uses the excuse that they were not there to verify the gas before you left. The customer service rep probably is not even in the same state so what will calling them do? I have been a long time U-Haul Customer but after this experience I will definitely be looking for alternative companies to utilize in the future. I will be posting this review on all social media review sites available. I am not interested in a response or a refund of the disputed charge. I was intereste
