Employee that helped me with my rental had a name tag that said "owner". He did not leave his chair that he was sitting in. Told me to "check out the truck" by myself. And when I returned if he told me to stay inside and not follow him. I do not know why he was not friendly by any means...

Make sure reservations knows what their talking about. I reserved a 6/12 open trailer went to get it only to find it ready for me in another state. Abby played along like she knew the landmarks I was speaking only to find when i went to get trailer 1 they didn't have it available at location in toledo but Titusville fla. really . Dawn got me a smaller trailer it was all they had.

Fuel estimator was not accurate. I ended up donating 3/16 of a tank of fuel. (4-5 gallons). The best rate guarantee saved me a few dollars which was a positive. ($4.00)

The check engine light came on 25 miles away from the move destination. It was very poorly maintained. The shifts on the steering column were very loose, the steering wheel had lots of play. That is dangerous. The truck drove like a MAC truck, hard to pick up speed. The whole thing rattled and shaked vigorously the whole way. I did not feel comfortable packing my large glass pieces and mirrors in it. No way. The floor of this truck was a launching pad for anything. We told the service attendant about the check engine light. He looked surprised, I was concerned we would get stuck on the highway with all my valuables in it. I rented a truck there before and all the mandatory pads that were affixed to the walls were taking up valuable packing space and could not be removed without a charge. That's pathetic. The 24 ft truck we had needs to be retired. The whole dash was jiggling around. Don't think I will use U-Haul again. Maybe a competitor has better trucks.

I used the online Express Check-In and STILL had to stand around while the employee entered the SAME information I had already entered online. Your Express Check-In is a total waste of time!!!!

Be sure to check the power outlet used for charging cell phone (cig lighter) the one in the truck was not working and we needed the power for our GPS. Thank God we made it but barely. Very important.

I paid over $75 for a small u-haul rental for 4 hours. A friend rented a u-haul from another location for 24 hours and paid $20.00. I feel I got ripped off.

The person who helped me when I picked up my moving truck, did a lot of rolling her eyes and sarcastic remarks, she seemed to think that I should know all of the fine print and details (and some of the details had changed from what I reserved on the website, like how many furniture pads come in a pack, 6 or 12). All I was asking for was an itemized list of expenses she was asking me to approve--the screen on the credit card scanner on my side of the counter had a few summarized charges but I didn't understand some of the specifics, she finally said "This is what I can do for you" and printed out the same screen that I was already seeing--obviously that did not help any. Moving is already a stressful time in anyone's life, there is no need to be rude to your customers. On top of her unwillingness to try to explain things to me, the truck was not ready with the equipment I had reserved online, she actually asked me to load the equipment (furniture pads and dolly) into the truck myself. Again, if you want to be customer oriented (which maybe U-Haul does not care to be), when someone is doing their move themselves, any extra effort you can do as a company, such as making sure equipment is already loaded in the truck, may not make a huge positive impact, but the converse makes a terribly negative impact. I am not sure if this kind of customer treatment is standard among all U-Haul locations or if it was this location in particular, but I certainly will be hard pressed to rent through U-Haul again.

This staff were discourteous, impatient, curt, and disparaging of other customers and the U-Haul Call Center where reservations were messed up (as were ours). When we suggested that we should document all the scratches on the sides of the truck we were renting, she curtly said "our insurance covers it" and walked away. When I returned the truck after 4 miles to get a screw put into the wide angle side view mirror that was blowing in the wind and threatening to fall off, the counter agent rolled his eyes; and then rolled his eyes again when I asked for the miles to be credited to my account. Will never go there again. Too demeaning.

My experience overall with UHaul was very stressful. From reserving online to picking up the vehicle. Briefly, two days before I moved I was told that the 15 foot truck I reserved online (three weeks prior!) was not available. I was given a cargo van (not big enough), so a 10 foot truck was found over 30 miles away from me (Lisa Marquette, lisa.socialwork@yahoo.com). I had to have Patrick Shipp pick it up from the Reynolds Rd site and drive it to Adrian. 100 miles was included in this, thankfully. However, I was on the phone several times and with much worry about having what I needed. Why have online reservations if not guaranteed?? A manager, Steve, helped make it right. I'm very glad about that, but I will probably never do this again! Then, your site (on Reynolds Rd,) charged me $107 extra! I learned that you charged me for a one-way, when you were told the vehicle was coming back to the same location. Evidently, a refund is coming but still it was taken out of my account to begin with. Moving is stressful enough, I wish UHaul had a different/better system. This worked out for me, because I had to call several times and complain. Not something I needed to take time for, with everything else going on! Again,thanks to Steve, through the Toledo area, for helping me and getting things situated. Because he did, I MAY come back to UHaul. I do understand that UHaul and its employees probably do the best they can but I've told others about my stressful experience. Thank you for your time. (Lisa Marquette) Also, it seems the vehicle did not ride well.

The play in the truck is horrible!!! The air only works 1/3 of the time. Was not happy at all with the truck...I would not rent from this location myself. I moved on the hottest day of this year!! Then when I returned the truck early I was never showed where the key drop box was so for 20 minutes in the pouring rain I searched the whole facility. Not happy at all.

This is the second time in two weeks that the vehicle size I requested was not what I received. The first time I was told the online reservation system is not dependable and that it is best to make reservations directly with the location. So that's what I did for my most recent reservation. I called this location's phone number and requested a 10' truck. They advised that they would call me the night before to confirm the location that would have my vehicle. I thought that was odd since I thought I was booking direct with my desired location, but I went along with it. The night before the scheduled pickup, I got the call saying the vehicle would be at my preferred location. Problem is that when my husband went to pick up the truck the next day, they did not have the requested 10' truck. They did not tell him that until AFTER he paid and were escorting him out to the 15' truck they assigned us. It does not matter that U-Haul did not charge me for the larger vehicle - I specifically asked for a 10' truck, I was told that I would be directed to a location with a 10' truck and I ended up with a 15' truck - and no one thought to tell us that until after the transaction was complete. I did not need a 15' truck; the items I was transporting did not even fill half the truck. We had to purchase additional rope to secure the load and we incurred extra gas costs for the trip due to having the larger vehicle. We have been loyal U-Haul customers for many years - moved kids all over the country to/from college, new jobs, etc. - and never had problems like this before. Very disappointing that this happened twice in two weeks! Adding insult to injury is the fact that we followed a Budget 10' truck all the way to Chicago. We'll call Budget next time.

We were told to pick up on a Sunday, verbally and via email, at 3:00. 3:20 and no one was there still. Called UHaul to find out the actual location to pick up. Got there and they said I would get a shipping box, there was none in the trailer so I never received a shipping box. Totally delayed my whole day by an hour messing around.
