I got my hitch, wiring, and ball done at the Kingston Road location, and then rented a trailer for four days. I was erroneously billed for an extra day despite returning the trailer on time, and had to follow up with the area manager to have the bill corrected. Aside from that, my experience was pretty positive: the staff was helpful and friendly, and the trailer was in good shape and easy to hitch and unhitch.

They called and asked when I wanted truck I said around 3pm - 4pm for 5 hours. I asked if there were any closer uhauls to my location they said no look at your email for details. I didn't even say I agree to pick it up at this location before they hung up lol. Than they called me at 330 and asked if I was still coming I said yeah I am in traffic should be there in 20 min. Thinking I booked the uhaul for 5 hours so why does it matter what time I come to pick it up if I booked it for 3pm and take the uhaul out at 7pm for only 10 min and bring it back within in the 5 hours what's the problem? They scheduled my new pickup reservation for 3:45 got there around 4pm expecting my truck to be there because they didn't call me or let me know there was a chance they were giving it away. Since I confirmed I am coming and that I was in traffic. Than they told me to wait for one to come. so I called the a uhaul number to complain because I had people at my house waiting for me to help me move. The lady I was talking to called the location I was at and told them to give me a truck. Than I asked about the 50 dollar for them messing up my reservation and the lady on the phone said I would get it. The guy at the store said you think your going to get 50 dollars? Not from me and than he told the other worker not to rent me any trucks and for me to get the lady to call him back. Long story short I talked to another lady and than she said they will rent me the truck now. Than after being there for an hour they gave me a van instead of a truck cause they said no more trucks today. Worst customer service experience in my life! Haven't got the 50 dollars of my bill yet hopefully they take it off.

I had to wait about 40 minutes in line to get my van as there were so many people who had not reserved ahead of me. With only one person working the counter, it made for a long wait. Since I had reserved it would have been nice to have been served on time. The employee did an excellent job despite the circumstances.

The girl who works at this location is very helpful. She is a hard worker. Every time I come she is multitasking and handling everything by herself. I think maybe she is overworked. She gets no time in between customers to even breathe. She should have someone working with her so she doesn'thave to do everything herself. She is also friendly to everyone.

Honestly, if I had had more time upon completing my move, I would've taken the time to express my issues formally right away; however, having just moved across the continent and starting a new job, I did not have that luxury so I was going to let it go. I am glad this survey was sent to me as it encouraged me to revisit my decision. My issues started at a much higher level with the U-Haul company in general. I initially reserved a 26' moving truck for Monday, 3 August - Sunday, 9 August after speaking with a customer service agent over the phone, a local manager, and visiting a local U-Haul dealership to ensure that I could use my own hitch system to tow my trailer (it has a 2 5/16" ball). The dealership I visited (2 weeks in advance of my move) only had 20' trucks on-site when I visited but the employees there ensured me that all one-way trucks have the same receiver slot for a different hitch as the 20' truck I viewed. Perfect, I was all set to go. Two days before my scheduled pick-up date I received a call from scheduling who asked me if I could pick-up at 2 pm (my reservation was for 8 am). I said no because my movers were already scheduled for the morning. Furthermore, the scheduling agent indicated that I was going to have to pick-up at a location >45 minutes from my house (there are two locations within 15 minutes of my house; hence why I had selected the location that I ultimately rented from). The scheduling agent said they would get back to me after consulting their schedule. The agent did not get back to me. The next form of communication I received from U-Haul was an email/text confirming a new pick-up time and location that was even further west but at least at 8 am this time. I had so much else to worry about with the logistics of moving that I said, fine, I'll just drive the 45 mins and get it from that location. Monday morning rolls around and my friend and I drive out to the Weston Road location (near Hwys 400 and 401 in Toronto). Upon arrival, the agent that greets us is very friendly and pulls the truck around for us to take. All looks great! Not so fast, upon closer inspection, this 26' truck does not have a separate receiver slot for my hitch system. Start of serious problems. After about 1.5 hours of getting some moderate (and I really mean moderate) assistance from the ONE agent working at the Weston Road location, I decide to change my reservation until the next day to allow me time to figure things out. We drive back the 45 mins east with no truck. Next I spend more than 5 hours, yes 5 hours, going back and forth with various U-Haul reps in the US and Canada trying to troubleshoot the situation. Again, I receive mixed information - some people think there are 26' trucks with the additional receiver slot, some do not. Eventually I get in touch with a fellow at the US call center with a thick southeastern accent who really was my saving grace. I wish I had his name on file because this g
