A well maintained & inspected truck would be a welcomed improvement. My truck had a fuel leak, smelled of gasoline, was low on oil, did not have a working cabin light, & had the left taillight fall off from the jostle of walking on the ramp.

The cargo van I reserved several days in advance was not ready even though I was 30 minutes late in arriving for pick-up. I appreciated having a clean vehicle, but I needed the van to be ready when I got there. On a positive note, the desk staff were all courteous and efficient.

I was somewhat intimidated to haul a car from Tulsa to Tuscaloosa, but it was not difficult at all to navigate - to get gas, to park, etc. It would be great to make more of a point of that.

The gentleman at the desk asked me how many miles we thought we would be driving it. (we were staying in town) I said "maybe 10 or 15 miles" then I said, "well, it may take 2 trips so maybe I should change that to 20 or 30 miles" and the guy behind the counter that asked me, says " the mileage doesn't matter we just have to have an idea" so I said ok, then 20. When my husband returned the truck (on time), they said we owed $15 dollars. When we asked what for they said because we went 23 miles instead of 20. So we were charged basically $5.00 a mile for those three miles, when we were told that the mileage didnt matter. So no, I will not recommend this location to anyone and I will be sure to tell everyone that we were basically ripped off.

I use the Cargo van for 4 hours, they charged me 69.00 I think I was charged way to much money never with I us U-Haul Thank you

When I dropped off the uhaul someone took the keys and then they disappeared so I had to wait inside for 10 - 15 min while they were looking for him so they could get a sheet. Then when they finally decide to just go look at the truck they said that I had not put any fuel in the truck when I had. They charged me $18 for the tiny bit of gas that they said I didn't put in

I had the truck, dolly and auto transport less than 24hours. I dropped it off about 130 am on October 2nd. The transport was connected to the truck. They checked in the truck but not the transport. Charged me extra for 2 more days. Said i turned in the transport on the 4th at 845 am. I'm sorry but don't know how that is possible in any way. I can't tow with my xterra. No hitch! The lady Kerry that I spoke to there was rude. She tried saying it was my fault. She never apologized. Said i was only charged $20. No not correct. They are shady and I will never use them or tell some to go to uhaul!

We rented a car trailer and the first one they gave us had a flat tire and had to be changed...then after the car was loaded the driver's door would not open. After a few attempts of pushing on the side of the car to see if the door would open (which I thought very odd, plus they said someone in the Arizona U-Haul store would have to do the same for us to get into the car to back it off....huh?...what?)...so we unloaded the car and they brought another trailer around assuring us that this one would work, even though we could tell it was not going to, and yep....it did not work either.....same problem...so we were told if we wanted to tow our car we would have to do it with a dolly...so they unhooked the trailer, brought a dolly around and hooked it up. After waiting 20 minutes for the first trailer to be brought around (someone entered a pick up time of 5:00 PM, which I never told anyone that) plus the hour and a half for all the trailer changes ( a total time of almost 2 hours) we were finally on our way. Then in Amarillo, Texas (our 2nd day) we had to go out of our way to find a U-Haul because one of the tire holders had come undone and had to be reattached. When we arrived in Gilbert, Arizona we stopped at the Shell Mini Mart to drop the car dolly off so we could unload the truck the next day. I am so thankful for the young man working that night (he was working alone by the way) although extremely busy helped us so much. We are 68 years old and my husband has a heart condition and there was no way we could undo the tire straps and this young man took the time to unhook everything for us and even told us that the car and dolly was not even hooked up correctly. For all he did for us he should get a bonus. The next day after the truck was unloaded we returned it with a full tank of gas and the two people who waited on us were very nice. For the price we paid, we sure expected better customer service and such. We will never rent another U-Haul again and have already informed our friends (who are moving soon) not to rent U-Haul.

Gas gauge was misread twice by U-haul personnel - once when I picked up and also when I returned the vehicle. I went 48 miles and put in 8 gallons of gas. Counter person said I need to put in another 8 to not be charge (16 gallons for 48 miles?). Turns out there was a trainee misreading the gauge. When the lead person read the gauge, he corrected the error (thank you!). The truck had definitely seen better days. Using the brakes caused the truck to shake considerably. When the transmission downshifted it jerked sharply. One dent in the side had several feet of duct tape applied as a fix. Someone should probably take this truck out and "shoot it" or, take a ride in it and do some "quality assurance" before renting it to another customer. (Maybe the QA testing should be applied to all vehicles before they are rented out.) I have rented other vehicles from this location and they were okay - not sure what happened this time.
