Burke BI will NEVER use U-Haul again. Ever. I will carry my belongings on my back before I would dare think to call you. There are two pickup locations very close to each other. 1.1 miles to be exact. I had to move out of the house I have been in for 7 years in 2 weeks. (No fault of my own) I was SCRAMBLING. To preface this-about 8 months ago my husband and I used a local U haul to move my grandmother. So when it was time to return this one we rented for our move, he mistakenly thought I had picked it up at the one we used previously. The one that is 1.1 miles from the other location. I did not know this until I got my receipt and saw the $200+ charge. On top of that, I was supposed to get free miles because after picking up the U-Haul, the lock was not working in the door and I had to go back up there the next day. So the person that answered my call when I called 1-800UHAUL, was the least personable, impolite customer service representative. When I tried to explain to why I was calling she kept cutting me off, I guess thinking she knew the answer to the question I never got to fully ask. She told me “I’ll see what I can do, no guarantees.” And then put me on. No- do you mind if I place you on hold? No-please hold one moment while I see what I can do-NOTHING. Then I was on hold for an extremely long time. She checked in once and her attitude was a little better and she put me on hold again for a little while and came back and told me they were going to credit my money back with the exception of $11. Because the area field manager had to “go drive the U-Haul to the correct location.” I’d have done it myself. It was less than 2 miles from my house. I understand that it was a minor inconvenience but it was an honest mistake and there’s no reason, had my husband realized I picked it up 1.1 miles away, that he wouldn’t have dropped it back off there. Needless to say, I didn’t get the free miles either. I WILL NEVER USE U-HAUL AGAIN.
Jennifer HDiscovered Right windshield wiper missing when it began raining during move. A few minutes later the left windshield wiper quit working and remained stuck in upright position for the whole time in storm n driving. Tire warning light on the whole time
Joel HThe only complaint I have is that U-Haul’s computer system was down at the time I was to pick up the truck. I couldn’t get the truck and had to leave. I had to re-schedule the pick up time to rent the truck. This caused a MAJOR problem for me, because I had people scheduled to provide labor in the morning at a certain time. I had to contact my helpers and reschedule with them too. I was able to finally rent a truck later in the same day. This is the only complaint.
