When I got to the location to load the truck I noticed that there were no tags on the dolly or the blankets. Upon getting back to the U-Haul facility I explained the situation to the person at check in she smiled and said ok. she then entered my information into she I phone and gave me the amount I owed and said my receipt will be in my E-Mail. When I got up the next day and checked my is when I noticed that I was overcharged. I am not happy and will be telling all my friends and co workers about this incident.

Upon getting in to the truck I noticed it was very old. Never asked to do an inspection before I left with the truck. The alignment was completely off. So much that i noticed the tires were worn down on one side. Obviously that was a problem from before that Uhaul never addressed. While I was driving to my destination, it started raining, I noticed some dripping and realized that the windshield was leaking water on to me! Next time I move I will be spending the extra money and getting a better quality, well maintained vehicle. You get what you pay for!

You can hire people friendly employees. When I brought the truck back the person who waited on me was very unfriendly. I attempted to pay the amount due on the truck with my debit card and he told me there was no money on it ( which I knew to be untrue) and he couldn't take it. When I got home I checked my balance in the bank and confirmed that there was ample funds in my account. Because he refused to put my card through I had to go through the embarrassment of borrowing money from the person who went with me to take the truck back. I have used your services in the past and there has been no problem.

Great place to rent from, never had any issues, rented there 3 times. TIP: Please Grease the turn knob to lock down the hitch on the trailers, they get hard to turn, spray lube washes off, unscrew knob all the way, put grease under the Turn knob. Also, be sure to CAP the Female electrical plug on the pick-up, to ensure the lights work. Thank you for the pleasant hassle free rental. Plan on installing a trailer hitch on my car, so I can do a Cheaper, trailer only rental in the future.

I have already spoken to the U-Haul central customer support about the issue I had but I would like to follow up with another representative because I have found out a little more information about a phone call my wife had with the manager of the Utica, NY location. My wife rented a 10 ft truck on Friday March 28. That experience was perfect, no issues, clean vehicle, friendly professional staff. Then she rented a 14 ft truck for Sunday March 30. I picked up the truck around 3:00 PM on Sunday. They asked if I would have in back prior to 5:00 PM when they close I said I doubt it. I asked if I would be charged extra for bringing it back after 5:00 PM they told me no. All good so far. When I signed for the truck I was told the truck had 1/4-1/8 a tank of gas, which I questioned why so low? They said that's how it was brought back. I thought that was a little odd because every time I rent a vehicle for work trips at Hertz or Enterprise they have a full tank of gas. Again this truck was very clean much like the first truck. Around 4:45 PM I realied there was no way I was going to get the truck back to U-Haul by 5:00 PM, when they close for the day. So I called my wife to ask her to call U-Haul to find out the procedure for bringing back the truck after hours, since they close at 5:00 PM. They told her simpply drop the truck off and leave the keys in the drop. Around 5:30-6:00 PM I took care of all the moving I needed to do and proceeded to a gas station to fill the tank back to the 1/4 -1/8 point where it was when I picked it up. I tried for about 5 minutes to get the gas cap off but could not. So I called my wife frustrated that I could not get the cap off and told her to call U-Haul to explain the situation because I will be bringing the truck back after hours. It was a 17 minute phone call to an after hours call service but she got the message through. Everything went smooth with the drop off. Monday morning March 31st my wife got a bill for the Sunday rental which contained the standard charges but an additional $60.00 in charges. $30.00 for not replacing the gas we used and another $30.00 charge for the fuel. After receiving the bill my wife called to explain the charges. I told her to call the Utica location and explain what happened and let them know you called becase the gas cap could not be opened. About 30 minutes later she called me back in tears because of the way she was treated by the location manager, Chris. As my explained it Chris called my wife a liar and just had a general nasty tone with her. He also hung up on her when some message came through that the call will be recorded. I'm not sure what that meant but my wife described it like he was possibly transferring her, sure. Around 11:30 AM Monday March 31st I called the number looking to speak with either Chris or Amelia the location managers. I got forwarded to a call answering service which they told me both of the managers were available but Amelia was next up she will c

The man that waited on me, didn't explain nothing to me. This was my 1st time renting anything. He never told me it would be .99 a mile!!!! He said it had a full gas tank, it didn't!!!! I'm very disappointed and will let everyone know how UHaul screwed me.

I was sold a drawbar that was improper and dropped the trailer nose resulting in an unlevel mounted trailer (in opposition to the instructions on the draw bar). I specifically asked that the lights be checked. I discovered during my trip that the tail lights were inoperative, and I had night driving involved. Dealers listed on the U Haul website located in Schaumburg Illinois were no longer in business/no longer a U Haul dealer. Overall a rather poor experience with U Haul given all these problems.

I have rented uhaul trucks several times for moves. Three ti es since july 2013. I was truly disappointed in this whole experience this time when I rented from you. When I went to pick up the truck, I was told that the truck was on empty, it was below empty and I didnt know if I would make it to the gas station. I also didnt know how much gas to put in with the truck being below empty. Also I didnt know how many miles per gallon it would get, having to go about 180 miles. I put $160.00 in gas in the truck, in addition to the price of the truck of over $200.00. I got in the truck to leave town on Monday morning 3/10/14 and about 8 miles down the road the brake light came on. I pulled over and looked over the truck and turned off the truck, put on emergency brake, took it off, no grinding, no leaks so I got back on the road. When I started back up, the light went off. A few minutes more, a loud abnoxious noise...buzzing sound came on and and I pulled over again, played with emergency brake and started out again. Got going again, pulled into rest area, checked truck still nothing. The loud buzzing noise was very loud. I had people waiting in Elmira waiting for me so, ater this happened 4 times I continued to keep driving, with that buzzing noise for almost 3 hours. I had a massive headache, and couldn't wait to get out of the truck. When I got to Watkins Glen, I pulled over again to try to stop the sound. At that point, the light went off for about10 minutes then again it came on again with an added problem... the check engine light came on, now two lights were on. I continued to drive so I wouldnt be late meeting my movers. The truck only took a 1/2 tank of gas instead of 3/4 of a tank. Now I spent $160.. in gas and my truck wasnt running right and spent over $300. When returning the truck, after closing, I called the rental office the next morning. The lady told me that I couldnt get a refund for the gas, plus they did note the check engine light that was on but they did nothing for the loud noise I had to deal with the way... $180 miles, and I had a below empty truck to leave the office on. I was told that the dealer may get a fined for not having gas in the tank. I wont rent from uhaul after this experience, I was highly upset to find out uhaul wouldn't do anything about the gas and truck situation. Originally went to dds sports 2100 oriskany street w, Utica n.y. location to pick up cargo van I had ordered, turns out a customer had rented the cargo van, was supposed to bring it back TWO days ago and never did. Needless to say, I was NOT pleased that I had to ask for them to try to find another for me. How do you rent a vehicle that you don't even have available???!! I was not given any kind of compensation and had to drive to the lomond place location to pick up the cargo van which was thankfully in stock. All the employees were nice, but how does this kind of thing happen? Had the van been unavailable and I had to choose a bigger vehicle and pay more for what I didn't need, I would have been livid! As it is, I'm quite irritated at the inability to adequately process what vehicles are available and what aren't even on the lot.

The sales person Chris was excellent-- very customer oriented-The other person (did not get the name was not customer oriented-- If I had to work with him, I would have walked out-- He actuallyput his hand up to me to be quiet-- I was trying to explain that i already spoke to Sherry , customer service, and he said that this was his store-- so basically what she said does not matter-- i explained to him calmly, it does matter because she represents all the chains and the price she gave is what I'm going with. he tried to give Chris a hard time but Chris was very controlled and just did what he had to do. I will never have that person wait on me. Do to salesman Chris, I am renting again this weekend and hopefully, will not have any trouble.
