I ran into a problem July 3rd dealing with the U-Haul subsidiary at Fleet Enterprise, 1457 Fleet Ave, Ventura. This business is mainly a gas station but has a contract with U-Haul to rent out their products. When I tried to extend the rental until Monday at 10 AM, the manager, Mark Dell'Amico -- ended up physically threatening me – said he was going to beat me up -- and followed me out to the parking lot as I retreated from his aggression and headed for my car. I was able to get the rental extended until 10 AM Monday, July 7th before his threats began so I had to potentially cross his -- Mark Dell'Amico – path again on Monday morning. I ended up requesting the assistance of the Ventura police to give me safe passage into this U-Haul facility. A police officer stood by while I checked the vehicle back into U-Haul. U-Haul Customer Support told me that since I rented the cargo van from Fleet Enterprise, I must return it to Fleet Enterprise. I was going to try and return it to the U-Haul outlet at 1322 East Thompson Blvd, to avoid further confrontation with Mr. Dell'Amico, someone who I believe to be a mentally disturbed, and intoxicated. I was given the phone number of a regional supervisor – Fred Coffee – on July 3rd after expressing my concerns to U-Haul Customer Service. Coffee never called me back after I left a message on July 3rd until Monday – July 7th -- well into the day after the check in occurred. He seemed rather nonchalant about the issue and I sent him pictures of the facility and the Ventura police escort I needed. He was worthless in helping to solve a dangerous problem that eventually required police intervention. I will never use U-Haul again because of their obvious negligence in protecting customer safety. Since I experienced the cavalier attitude of their headquarters Customer Service, I would never expect them to resolve a simpler issue I might have since they didn’t respond to this very serious problem with one of their rogue facilities.

You were late opening and you failed to inform me that if you pickup the rental on the morning of one day and return it at the same time the next day , you will be charged for 2 DAYS . I would not recommend the fleet location to anyone .

Attendant never bothered to hitch my trailer to the car, was on the phone from the moment I arrived all the way thru the last min, never acknowledged my presence there. At the end he simply gave me a paper to sign took my money and told to go get the trailer in the back. I had no idea where to go. Poor service and lack of customer service.

Mr Mark Dell Amico was extremely curt and rude. The 6x12 trailer I rented had 3 Goodyear tires, that were 26" in diameter, and the right rear was a Carlisle that was 23.5 inches in diameter. In addition, the small tire had a slow leak, and went flat in my home driveway before I left. Mr Dell Amico had told me to call 805-654-1365 if I had an emergency. That number rand to a cell phone, which was never answered, and messages were not returned. EVER. So I called the roadside assistance number, and after several hours, a contracted tow truck driver out of Camarillo came to my home driveway, took one look at the flat undersized tire, and said, "That is not right". Fortunately, he had a 26 inch diameter Carlisle, and replaced the inappropriate small, deficient tire. So we had to drive at night, and reached destination at 2AM, instead of 8 PM. On Monday, I reached the older middle eastern man in charge by phone, and he said it was not their job to check tires! He stated they were not allowed by Uhaul to change tires. Whatever came in the door was rented, and went out the same way. This is a lousy corporate policy if true Finally, Mr Dell Amico lookeed like he was hung over. He was incredibly rude.

Let the customer know the cost of the rental when asked and train them to tell the customer they need an adapter (for certain vehicles) to connect lights on the trailer. Phone rep. called me the day before and didn't know what she was talking about. She thought I was renting a truck and I was actually renting a trailer. She incorrectly told me I couldn't have the trailer until 3 pm. Another phone rep. said that wasn't true and resolved the problem. U-haul needs to improve their customer service. It's terrible!!

No very friendly and called numerous times to ask me to retun the van. Not the same experience from the other locations I've used.

The location did not have the truck size we requested. They called 2 days prior to let us know they only had a 20 foot, not a 26 foot. They told us we would be charged the 29.99 rate instead of 39.99 since they did not have the right truck. The day we rented it, they told us no, the rate is 39.99. They did not honor the rate I was told on the phone, when the truck we got was 6 feet smaller than what we needed. Very disappointed with this lack of customer service.

I was originally suppose to pick up the truck at the Thompson Ave. location according to the email and voicemail messages that I received. when I arrived at the scheduled time to pick up the truck i was told that the call center had double booked and that I would have to go to the fleet ave. U-Haul to get the truck. So that meant that i had to go back across town to pick up the truck. it would be nice if they would notify by phone when this sort of situation occurs. It would have saved me time, and extra mileage in the long run.

I was notified the night before my move that the 26' truck I reserved was unavailable and that I would only receive a 20' truck. The smaller truck was unable to hold all of the items, which will require me to rent more equipment, hire more movers, and make another trip to finish the move. Also, the location was not open at time of scheduled pick-up, causing a delay when I had movers scheduled to show up to load the truck. The vehicle hauler was missing wire harness to connect to vehicle. I was told I needed to drive the trailer to another u-haul location without working trailer lights in order to pick up the required wire harness. Horrible, unprofessional experience!
