It was nice you could buy gas there like that a lot ...

They were quite rude and very slow with the check-out. They seemed confused with the details of handling the drop off, because that's one of the many businesses they are running out of this location. I would never go there again.

I have never been compelled to write a review in my past, but I had such a horrible experience with the Fleet Enterprises business on 10/26/14 that I feel the need to warn other potential customers. First, I arrived at Fleet Enterprises at 9 a.m., the time of my reservation for a 10 foot U-Haul truck. After waiting 5 minutes, an employee came out from the back of the business (no one was at the front desk) and proceeded to help the man behind me, who had arrived after me. The other man had an issue with the gas pump at the business, and the employee proceeded to go out to the gas pumps to assist the man- leaving me to wait another 10 minutes inside the office with no one to help me. After the employee made a phone call regarding the broken gas pump, he started to help me. However, his personal cell phone then rang and he proceeded to stay on that phone call the entire time he was "assisting" me. He rushed me through the rental process and did not have me complete any form showing pre-existing damage to the truck. I used the truck for 4 hours, and drove a total of 14 miles. I returned the truck to the parking lot, after the office was closed. I did not have any accidents, did not hit anything, and had a visual on the truck the entire time it was in my possession. To my surprise, an employee called me bright and early the next day, providing me with a laundry list (no exaggeration) of damage that was done to the truck, supposedly while it was in my possession. I denied causing any of the damage. The employee advised me that, since I had purchased the additional $14.99 insurance, it was "fine" and I would not be charged- all I had to do was provide him with a time the damage happened and how it happened. I again informed him that I did not cause any of the damage. The employee stated I just needed to tell him the time and incident so he could "fill out the insurance form." I told him that I did not cause the damage, and would not lie to him so he could fill out a form. The employee then became rude and told me that I "just need to be honest." He was very insistent that there were no problems because the insurance would pay for it all. I continued to deny any damage, as that was the truth. I feel that this UHaul rental location is involved in some kind of insurance scam- waiting for customers to purchase the additional insurance and then claiming a bunch of damage. The employee was too busy with his phone call to complete the necessary forms and is then demanding that I (the customer) lie for his documents. I will never return to this UHaul location. However, I want to make this clear that this is not an issue I have directly with UHaul- rather it is directly related to Fleet Enterprises in Ventura.

While my experience with the particular location was positive, my overall experience with U haul was more than disappointing.

This reservation with u'haul has marked the end of a 20 year relationship with this company. As a military member u'haul has been the go to company for moving rentals, and we military people move a lot. I reserved a 26ft truck (1600sqft) on the 10th of july for use on 1 of august, and THE DAY BEFORE moving my family from oxnard to orange county by myself, i received a call to inform me that I couldn't get the truck i needed and I had to do with a 20 ft (1000sqft) and a trailer (400sqft) or get a second driver to get 2 14ft trucks. Naturally i was left with about 200 sq ft of stuff left in my storage which required an additional day of moving and extra costs, milage, gas, and back strenght. I received a discount, but as i explained the person, i would've paid more to move once and one time. NOT TWICE. The store i picked up the truck from was slow, and forgot to include the utility dolly in addition to the appliance dolly i reserved, and by the time i got to call them back, found out that they close at 2:30 pm! I expected better service from a well established company like yours. I spoke to the regional reservations coordinator (Paula) and she very nicely try to make me understand that her hands were tied and they simply didn't have the trucks i needed. This is a concept i can easily understand at the end of the day after my frustation calmed, but what i can't understand is the managers (Ivette) inability to make this better! After all it was her responsibility as the manager to have the authority to intervene and ensure that her company is providing the best (??) service possible. Poor Poor outcome, I did my part, i reserved the truck well in advance, to make my move happen...The least the manager in charge could do for me was to do the most possible to meet my needs...fail. As i mentioned, i understood you didn't have a vehicle (shit happens) but at least the manager should've ensured that whatever was needed for me to complete my task was provided, such as a free use of vehicle the following day, or trailer (which i ended up doing) anything would've been a better answer than, "this is all we can do for you".

WE overlooked the preordered moving pads, and were charged for them, then at the dropoff the qquestion was where were they? I didn't drop off the truck, and don't know how hat was resolved.

The WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER!!! NOT ONLY DID THEY NOT HAVE MY ORIGINAL TRUCK REQUEST WITHING 100 MILES OF MY LOCATION, THEY ALSO DIDN'T HAVE THE TWO SMALLER TRUCKS PROMISED. THE AGENT WAS OVER 45 MINUTES LATE OPENING THE SHOP. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, WE HAD TO PAY OVER $200 FOR A THIRD TRUCK AND PAY FOR GAS AND GET ANOTHER DRIVER. i AM SEEKING A REIMBURSEMENT FROM UHAUL. I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW HOW RIDICULOUS THIS EXPERIENCE WAS AND WILL FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

I ran into a problem July 3rd dealing with the U-Haul subsidiary at Fleet Enterprise, 1457 Fleet Ave, Ventura. This business is mainly a gas station but has a contract with U-Haul to rent out their products. When I tried to extend the rental until Monday at 10 AM, the manager, Mark Dell'Amico -- ended up physically threatening me – said he was going to beat me up -- and followed me out to the parking lot as I retreated from his aggression and headed for my car. I was able to get the rental extended until 10 AM Monday, July 7th before his threats began so I had to potentially cross his -- Mark Dell'Amico – path again on Monday morning. I ended up requesting the assistance of the Ventura police to give me safe passage into this U-Haul facility. A police officer stood by while I checked the vehicle back into U-Haul. U-Haul Customer Support told me that since I rented the cargo van from Fleet Enterprise, I must return it to Fleet Enterprise. I was going to try and return it to the U-Haul outlet at 1322 East Thompson Blvd, to avoid further confrontation with Mr. Dell'Amico, someone who I believe to be a mentally disturbed, and intoxicated. I was given the phone number of a regional supervisor – Fred Coffee – on July 3rd after expressing my concerns to U-Haul Customer Service. Coffee never called me back after I left a message on July 3rd until Monday – July 7th -- well into the day after the check in occurred. He seemed rather nonchalant about the issue and I sent him pictures of the facility and the Ventura police escort I needed. He was worthless in helping to solve a dangerous problem that eventually required police intervention. I will never use U-Haul again because of their obvious negligence in protecting customer safety. Since I experienced the cavalier attitude of their headquarters Customer Service, I would never expect them to resolve a simpler issue I might have since they didn’t respond to this very serious problem with one of their rogue facilities.

You were late opening and you failed to inform me that if you pickup the rental on the morning of one day and return it at the same time the next day , you will be charged for 2 DAYS . I would not recommend the fleet location to anyone .
