I wanted to express my appreciate and thanks to the workers at the Victoria location who made the extra effort to arrange the split contract (truck and dolly) so that the workers could show us how to hook up the car/dolly. The customer service was excellent. Thank you!

$6000 charge to repair an incident in which was deemed the other vehicle's fault. I don't know what GMC costs $6000 to fix a door and front quarter panel, this was just an opportunity to make more money off of an awful situation. Shame on you UHaul, could you maybe take into account other people's lives and positions they could be in? NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING SHY OF A LAUGH FROM THE SIDEWALK.

Try to keep the drive way clear so you don't have to wait for customers cars to move. Also keep clear of the rentals for the same reason.

The first rep that checked me in I found rude curt grumpy and not friendly. But thanks to the young man that gave me a walk through of the vehicle and also checked me in when I was done was very friendly helpful cheerful and I would give him a huge raise as his friendly up beat attitude is what would make me come back again.

Yesterday I rented a uHaul cargo van from your Topaz location for the day to drive to Nanaimo and back. When I received the van, there was barely any fuel left in the tank, and your staff offered me a $20 credit in lieu of this. However, as I had to drive to Nanaimo and back, I knew that I was going to need a lot more than just $20 of gas to make it there and back. So I fueled up on my way out of Victoria, expecting to use up most of the gas over the course of my trip. I have no idea what the miles per gallon is for your cargo vans, but one of your staff members had informed me that they eat up gas quite quickly. I did not want to be making multiple stops for gas along the way (I was also on a time constraint to get the van back to your location on time). Anyways, I ended up spending $100 on gas, and to my surprise, only used a small amount of it. I happily returned the van to your location on time, with approximately 3/4 of the tank still full, expecting to receive a credit for this. However, your staff was not able to reimburse me for any of this amount because they were afraid of getting audited, as they said they had been audited in the past for giving customers reimbursements on gas. I showed my receipt for the gas, explaining that they could take a copy of the receipt in the event of an audit, but your service representative thought I should talk with you about this. Unfortunately, your hours of work do not line up with mine, and so I am having to email you to explain my situation. I have attached a copy of my gas receipt to this email, as well as my contract with uHaul for the cargo van rental. When I explained my situation and the amount I had spent on gas to your customer service representative, she agreed that $100 was a lot and that I should be compensated in some way, but as she is not a manger, it is not her call to make. So here I am, emailing you, in hopes that you will be cooperative and understanding to the scenario. I am not asking for $100 back, as some of that would have been used on the trip. But if no compensation is provided, I feel that I am essentially going to have at least a $50 loss! I understand that for small amounts of gas, it would become cumbersome to have to reimburse customers all the time, but I think in my case, this is not really a small amount. It is not a few dollars over the amount that I was supposed to return the van with. It is a significant amount and so I feel there should be some acknowledgement of this. Not only that but I feel by returning the van essentially fueled up that I was doing your company a favour, displaying good customer cooperation, and was expecting more of a gratuitous response, rather than the one I got. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to email me back or give me a call at the number below. I hope that by emailing you and explaining my situation, you will be understanding and sympathetic towards the amount of money I would lose out on if no credit

It is important to note that I had reserved to pick up a vehicle at the Queens location where I was told one was not available and it appeared I had booked for the previous day. I have since checked the reservation which was indeed for Tuesday Aug 26. Fortunately the Topaz location was able to accommodate me although parking my personal vehicle meant driving to around the corner and down the street - something needs to be done for parking non-uHaul vehicles because clients do not usually walk in off the street. I did not appreciate not being informed I should attend a different location until I arrived.

The location is great, however, the property is way too small for the volume of vehicles. Parking is difficult and walking through and between all the vehicles is hazardous.

Stay open later. Tell your employees to not close out the computer and cash out till a the very least 10 minutes after store closes. I got down to pickup my truck on day two, through no fault of my own, at 6:55 pm and they told me I was late and that they have already done their cash out that there was nothing they could do and that I would have to come back in the morning. I told them I was not late and that in fact they were earlyou and was told to leave. I told them that it was imperative that I have it tonight tomorrow did not work, so I called the 1 800 number and was told that the uhaul in View Royal was opened Till 8 pm. Since I had just been dropped off I had no choice but to cab it there which cost me an extra $25.00 because of a 5 minute mistake on your part. I was not late, your store closed early period.

When I arrived to pick up, there was a lengthy line up and only two people manning the counter. It could have been one of those crazy moments when customers show up out of the woodwork. With that exception, I found the experience improved over my last U-Haul rental. I especially liked the more efficient handling when I returned my rental.

The driveway to the customer entrance is very busy and narrow, limited space for customer parking. Relocate office to north corner of building, with customer pickup parking and exit with drivethrew drop off pickup area.

I made a special trip down to the Topaz Ave location to reserve a pick-up truck as the overflow agent in the USA couldn't see for certain if their were any trucks available. At the Topaz location I then reserved a cube van and was quoted the same rate $19.95 per day but at an increased rate of $0.69/km. When I returned later that day to pick up the cube van, I was then told (by the same agent) it would be $0.89 per km. I asked the agent why it was now again higher and she said "that's what this truck costs". I explained again that when I reserved the truck I was already quoted a raised rate of $0.69 from $0.49 for the pick-up truck; why has it risen again? She replied "that's what this truck costs". Then I heard the man from the yard on her radio tell her that the truck fuel gauge read 3/4 of a tank; but then she processed the rental agreement that the fuel gauge was reading the next 1/8th of a tank above 3/4. Why would she do that? There was just dead pan, no smiles, minimal client service; she was texting on her i-phone when I approached the counter. In the yard and looking at the fuel gauge, I showed the form to the yard agent and he said "well that's wrong"; he shook his head and 'exhaled', corrected it and initialed it with his agent code. He was very helpful. I have had excellent past experience with UHaul, having used your service many times in the past over 15 years. I don't know what happened this time, but during the time I had the truck, I did feel like I was being 'ripped off'. Which was very different from past experiences with UHaul. I was watching every kilometer as my retired/set income mother was paying the bill. Being in the service industry myself, enthusiasm for the job, smiles, listening and explaining things to the customer go a long way toward repeat business. Thank you for your time. We picked up truck this past Friday . Customer service man was being quite rude to previous customer,so we were apprehensive, he was less than polite to us and determined to make us feel stupid, interrupting at every opportunity,extremely off putting. considering the bad start to the day, we successfully moved, fueled correctly, were overcharged for mileage, and returned the truck.there were no hassles at the end of the day, however with the over charges and nasty attitude we won't return or recommend this location.
