Every time I use this location something is messed up truck size or trailer type etc I'll call ahead get there and they can't find my rental info etc their incompetence costs me valuable time and $ if I rent a 26 ft truck and get there and given a smaller one due yo their errors I now make more trips which costs me mileage and gas not to mention wages for additional time spent. I'm pretty much done with uhaul I can buy my own truck and trailer and not have the stress.

The young man that helped me, was THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD AT Uhaul. He was friendly, knew what he was doing and did it. I am sorry I do not have his name, I was waiting for something bad to happen, when it didn't I let him know how happy I was.

to be completely honest.....i am moving in 5 months and will not be using them. i originally went in to set up the truck and dolly a week before we left. i requested a 17' or 20' truck, a car dolly, and an appliance cart with straps. the young man that helped me was very nice, but that was about the only thing i was happy with. he told me they only had 14' or 26' trucks on hand. i asked him if they could get one from another location, i was told 'no'. i went with the 14', which would have been enough. the following saturday, my girlfriend and father went to pick the truck up because i was unavailable that day. they get there, and the 14' truck i reserved is not there. my girlfriend called me and i talked to the guy behind the counter. he told me they would give me a 20' truck for the price of the 14', i said ok....and my father remembers him saying 20' as well. he also gave me a $50 credit for the fact that they didnt have what i reserved. i also expressed the fact that driving 1200 miles would cost me more fuel with the larger truck. he said the truck had a 40 gallon fuel tank as well. i also asked him to make sure the appliance cart had straps. on sunday, i went to her place to discover the truck was actually a 26' truck, with an appliance dolly with no straps. i didnt want that big of truck due to the fact i was towing a car behind it too, and i have never driven anything bigger that a full size pick up truck. and i didnt realize until we left monday morning that the fuel tank was 57 gallons, and not 40. this completely thru off my plan of which gas stations to go to on the way. i could have eliminated a stop along the way had i known the correct size. it is not easy driving something that big in and out of the gas stations. by the end of the trip i would assume i used more fuel than i would have with a 14' truck.....and i also returned it a day and half early, and was not eligible for any reimbursement. overall, i am extremely upset with the misinformation i was given. this is kind of a big deal when you are traveling half way across the country, its not like forgetting to leave pickles off my sandwich in the drive thru. i just expect when i walk up to the counter at uhaul....that i get the correct information and also what i asked for. wrong truck, wrong appliance cart, and wrong tank size.....just unacceptable in my opinion. i would like something done about this for my troubles. thanks jeremy

You could have employees answer phones, give correct rates as well as make sure the equipment matches the numbers on the contract.

The person who took my reservation had no idea how the U-Boxs work. I explained what I was trying to accomplish and she booked my reservation. I was told I could easily remove the box from the trailer to store at my house however it actually took two people, two 20T bottle jacks and two steel levers to get it off the trailer. Then to return the trailer, I was given the 3rd degree over a burned out tail light (that was never checked before I first left the lot). The lady who took my reservation indicated that use of the trailer would be free for both pick up and delivery however I was charged for one day to use it today and advised that I will be charged another whole day to use the trailer when I return the box. I have rented three times in recent years and this was the first time I was disappointed.

The truck had a trim strip missing at the bottom of the window on the passenger side, letting air in and making it noisy. Also, no cruise control on a small (10' box)moving truck? I would have asked for a truck that had it if I had noticed it before we left.

they were great - only downside was the wait . . . there were a lot of people there to process and had to wait about 30 minutes . . . employees were going as fast as they could and helpful and courteous but some people in line were a little upset with the time it took probably could have used 1 or 2 more people to assist rather than just 2 people. but imagine it's feast or famine the employees did the best could be expected - hence my rating above.

I had tried to call a bunch of times to schedule a Uhaul however I could not reach the store. I was put through to customer service and they had helped me fine but at the end had told me I couldn't make my transaction because they do not keep credit cards on file. I later called back with my credit card and this lady was rude. She kept telling me things I have never heard before (seeings I have used Uhaul a total of three times previous). At the end, she really couldn't answer my questions and told me I would have to talk to the actual store I was going to rent from. This was frustrating because I had been trying to call the actual store the whole time. When I arrived for my scheduled pickup, the store was very busy and they didn't have my reservation on file a I didn't get the truck I needed and also paid for pads that I never got in the Uhaul. When I came back to the store, they were even busier. Each time I got to the store, all sales people were very nice and friendly but definitely needed more people. When I told them about not having pads they refunded me. They also credited me $50 for not having my size of truck. The store clerks on University in Cedar Falls, IA are really great and care about customers they just seem to need an extra person so people are not waiting in line so long. Maybe an extra person outside reading gas gauges and doing inspections would help them out so they wouldn't be running back and forth so much. Overall, I wouldn't say the experience was bad at Uhaul because I had such friendly people in the store (not so much with the call center) but people all seem to be on different pages with the rules and regulations. An example of this would be: Once I booked the reservation for the second time in the store-they then asked me if I wanted to pay with the credit card on file. This is concerning because when I called in the second time to the call center I gave them my bf's credit card and at the store they have MY actual credit card on file. So after they didn't book my reservation at the call center and took my bf's credit card-what happened to our card information? Everyone was always on a different page the whole time.

I did online reservations thinking it would be faster but what a surprise got there and had to wait anyway. Only one person working no complaint toward him he went as fast as he could. Trailer worked good a lot of swaying back and forth if I went over 45mph but that's manageable for ony costing between 20.00~ 30.00 dollars. When I need moving equipment I know where to go. I will be recommending u to friends & family also..... A coupon for next time wouldn't hurt for the waiting I did..... THANKS

Mileage was inflated, I think. Unfortunately for me, I did not check/compare the odometer on the pickup I rented with the checkout paper I had signed to see if they matched. I was charged for 59 miles but at the most drove 35 miles! There was a mistake somewhere but since I signed off, there is no way I had of proving I had not driven 59 miles! As I was leaving the U-Haul lot , I saw another F-150 pickup like I had rented and I am wondering if there was a possibility of confusing the mileage with that one. Except for the mileage issue, I was treated well and have no complaints. John Keiser

I reserved a truck in advance, called the store to confirm and even went in the store to confirm my truck and make a few purchases. On moving day I realized when I got home to start loading the truck with hired movers, the truck was way too small. NOT the size I reserved! This resulted in paying my movers extra additional hours and multiple trips. I also want to add that the wardrobe boxes I purchased and wasn't given the rods to go inside, so when I returned to pick up the rods, I was instructed to take the wrong size rodes. So needless to say I couldn't hang my clothes in the wardrobe boxes on moving day. This was the last and only thing I had to pack, was my hanging clothes. So I had to deal with a truck that was too small and boxes I couldn't use to hang my nice clothes up nicely on. I was informed I would receive a call back from someone at the corporate office within 48-72 hours regarding the wrong truck size. Really? I had movers standing in front of me right then, that very moment. I was told I could get the correct size truck in another city, an hour and 1/2 away, one way. Wow! What an experience. The person on the phone in Customer Service did nothing to calm the situation. She kept repeating that I would be called within the next 48-72 hours. I was never called. I called the store and left a message for someone to call me back. I never got a call. I finally went in to the store. The manager finally assisted me by giving me a credit. This move cost me hundreds of dollars more than it had to because I was told by U-Haul that I had a truck reserved that could manage my move on the day I requested. Poor service all the way around.

I rated the equipment as not clean and well maintained simply because of the weather conditions. While our trailer certainly was well-maintained, our recent snow, ice, and frigid temps have certainly played havoc on any outdoor equipment! Considering those conditions, the trailer was excellent!

The truck was dead when we picked it up and had to wait for it to be jumped. It died again while we were using it and took a day and a half to have someone come out and fix it. I had to keep calling in to stay on top of this and didn't appreciate how it was still my responsibility to solve all the problems, when the truck was clearly a faulty product. I had used UHaul in the past and have had great service but this time was the worst I could imagine. I was never offered any kind of reimbursement after the dead truck caused me to re-arrange my schedule for two days to get the problem solved.

Truck wasn't there at scheduled time. Then the family who had it brought it back full of items to load into a different truck. Had to wait for them to do that AND go get gas, which was still only 1/4 tank. Employees were slow and unhelpful. Utility cart wasn't included - luckily manager removed the cost upon return.
