Great experience. Van was ready when booked and I dropped off after hours and they've emailed me a receipt. Only thing I don't like is getting the vehicle with a quarter tank of gas. Why doesn't Uhaul give the vehicle dull and require everyone to return with a full tank of gas?

I had a pretty great experience. My only comment would be to provide a light for the indoor storage rooms. Could be wired to turn on when the door opens. And also the exterior door can't stay open by itself, so I always had to bungee it. Would be handy to have a door prop. Otherwise, service was excellent!!

I HATED my Uhaul experience. To start, I'd booked at 10' truck and had been told the location I dropped it off would not matter. When I arrived I was told the truck had to be picked up AND dropped off at the Waterloo, ON location, as they owned the truck. I was driving to Bracebridge, ON (A 260km trip) so a return trip was not convenient at all. The gentleman working told me that it would be over $400 for a round trip with the 10' truck and so wasn't worth my time BUT if I was to get the 14' truck it would be a cheaper option for me. This then equated to $415 for a one way trip... I took it, thinking it was the better of two evils. Once home though I called back to clarify that I'd made the most economical decision and was told by the woman on the phone that I could've made the round trip with the 10' truck, insurance and tax included for only $350. She said she would send the information to the Waterloo, ON location and so I went back and he claimed to have never received anything, nor did he understand where she got her numbers from as that price was impossible. He said he would look into it though so I walked outside to make a phone call and while on my phone call leaned on a yellow post. There was no signs saying it was freshly painted yet I was covered in yellow paint! I went inside, attempting to appear civil still and asked if he'd looked into the 10' for me at the $350 cost quoted and he said he hadn't seen anything BUT had canceled the 14' rental without asking. I conceded to take the 14' foot truck which he re-rented to me. Upon renting it I asked if I could swipe for the down-payment and finish payment at the drop off location and he said I could. Then he went ahead and charged me the full $415 and loudly exclaimed I needed to pay everything there. After finally leaving distraught from the Waterloo, ON location I noticed the two forms I had, one from the first rental of the 14' and one from when he re-rented it to me. Between 15 minutes somehow the gas tank had gone from below half full to exactly half full on the form and so I owed more gas upon return on top of already having to pay more for a truck that was too big for me trip in the first place, which then upped the per mile cost and the insurance. Thank you Uhaul...

The 585 Colby St location is not the original location therefore I am rating the 144 charles St location in kitchener. Not only the manager ( this bold headed big man) was rude and insesitive but also we didn't get our reserved truck we booked 3 months prior. We had to go to the colby location. We booked the truck in april for a move from kitchener to ottawa in july. I received a confirmation email of a 17' truck booked for the 26th of July. In july, I called customer service to ask a question and to resend me the confirmation which they did. When I read the email, it said I booked a 20' truck for 12pm. I called back and spoke with a lady with a nasty tone. I was trying to tell her that I was not advised of the change, a 20' truck is a bit too much for a 2 bedroom aptmt and also will consume more fuel than the 17'. She said while shouting that it's a courtesy for you guys to make the changes you made because ni 17' truck was available in my are. I hung up and was so upset. So I called the scheduler to at least change the time and see if we pick up the truck early in the morning and that's when she said that the 20' broke down and that she will try to find something available and that she will call me right back. So you can understand that this is on Juky 25th, i am supposed to move the next day and there is no truck: A TRUCK I BOOKED 3 MONTHS AGO! SERIOUSLY!!!! I honestly almost passed out, I couldn't believe how unreliable and negligent your compagny was. I was beyond upset and was praying she finds something. My family came all the way from Kingston to come and help and we had packed everything and were ready to go the next morning but we weren't sure we were gonna move at that point. So the lady didn't call me back for a full hour and that's when I called back, her colleague ( also a manager she said) told me the only truck available is 26' for 5pm. I was in shock. She said we would get our $50 reservation guarrentie. At 5 pm on the 26th, the 26' truck wasn't there, an employee called brandon emailed the head office and they sent us to the waterloo. Al least brandon was working on a solution while we were waiting in frustration. The manager in question (big guy) was reading us the contract, saying that there is no truck for us. I told him he should retire, there is no use for him in the customer service business.

If the truck is given with full fuel that would be easy for customers to fill gas when return. Although, the indicator of how many liters gas is required for particular level is good idea, but not as convenient as full tank!

I liked the rubber matting on the floor/base of the van. Made the subsequent clean up quicker. My son had joked that the radio am/fm setting should have been preset to the local stations (I told him not everyone shares his taste in music) and you don't know where this van will be going next. Since it had Arizona plates -- it has traveled a bit already.
