We reserved a 14-foot truck for our move 2 weeks prior to the date. Our originally scheduled pick up time was 330pm. I spoke to a representative at 930am on the day of pick up, and he asked if it we would mind if they rented the truck out for a few hours until approximately 230pm. I said that would be fine, we were actually wondering if we could pick it up a few hours later than planned. He stated that it would not be a problem. When we arrived at 530pm, we were informed that our truck was "given away" because we "missed our pick up time by 2 hours" with no acknowledgment of the earlier phone conversation. Consequently, we were given a 10-foot truck which did not meet our moving needs. As a result, we were forced to make multiple trips and arrange other vehicles to transport all of our belongings. We were extremely dissatisfied with our experience.

This is not an improvement. I just want to mention one employee by name because he provided outstanding service with an exceptionally customer-focused attitude. Leanis Almanzar was courteous, helpful, and incredibly pleasant. When there was an error that caused me to be severely overcharged, he fixed it without ever doubting my claim and apologized for the difficulty. He is truly an asset to U-Haul and this location. I will continue to direct all my business for rentals and moving supplies to this location because of his positive, helpful attitude.

We reserved a 14' truck and (2) furniture dollies. Upon arriving at the location, the sales person informed us they he didn't have any furniture dollies in stock. We were a little taken aback as we were moving furniture and specifically needed dollies. Also, nothing was said in our reservation about dollies not being in stock. The sales person had to call another company down the street were we had to go to rent the dollies from. (and cheaper) so it all worked out in the end, but a little inconvenient for us to have reserved something only to find out it's not in stock upon our arrival.

I've always used Uhaul. The prices are fair and you are always well stocked. Service is always exceptional. But I was disappointed with the in attentiveness of your pick up agent. He was in a hurry to get to his cell phone and didn't perform standard take out like vehicle inspection or how to use e a equipment. Still very pleased with your company.

The man who helped me at the West Roxbury, MA location was excellent. I don't remember his name but he was working Sat, 7/12/14 from 2:00 PM till closing. I had originally called the Norwood, MA location on Friday evening to make a reservation. I thought I was all set until I showed up on Saturday to pick up the truck. No record of a reservation; no truck. The assistant manager at the Norwood location was a jerk. His effort to resolve my dilemma more basically non-existent even though there was no line of people waiting. I will never use the Norwood location, nor recommend it. Someone needs to sit this guy down for a lesson in customer service.

When I arrive the attendant was not there the doors was lock a short time later he appear. I asked for a two day rental he then gave a me a one day and twenty hour rental not letting me know, after returning the trailer I was charge for a third day that I did not used the trailer for. I rented from U-haul before and this experience have been the worse. I'll make sure and a proint not to come back. Thanks U-haul for the aurible experience and charge me for.

I reserved my vehicle on your website. Very user-friendly and process streamlined. I called to confirm reservation the day before...the representative was SO kind and helpful. Please put a large instruction sign on the dashboard for the parking brake. Somehow it was set, so when I started the truck an alarm went off and it took me ten minutes to find the parking brake release to turn off the alarm. There are other helpful signs on the dashboard and that would be a good addition to the signage.

I tried calling at 7:30am, and was on hold for 40 mins -- then I hung up and called back. The second call I was on hold for 3 mins. I'm not sure why that happened but it was incredibly frustrating. I was trying to tell them that I was going to be a little late to my reservation appt, and I ewe anxious my uhaul would be given away.

I confirmed a 14' truck at the Hyde Park location. Twice. The night before the pick up a rep called to say sorry, we only have a 10' but we'll give you a bunch of extra miles. Ok. Fine. Still confirmed at Hyde Park at 9:15am? Yep no problem all set. I get there at 9. Wait an hour. The clerk told me no, your reservation is for West Roxbury. I spent 30 minutes on hold with customer "service". Went back to the clerk (Jameel?). He told me things like "you ain't gotta get pissy with me" and my favorite "your reservation ain't my problem". Classic. I took a cab to the W. Roxbury location. I noticed some of the people in line ahead of me I had seen at Hyde Park. Anyway, the woman working there alone on a busy Sunday could not have been nicer. A long line of cranky people and she greeted each with a smile and "how can I help you?". I can't find my paperwork just now but I think her name was Stacie. SHE was amazing. I will never use Uhaul again but if you have to go to the one on VFW Parkway.

Communication is key. I was told my unit was going to be free by renting the truck and it ended up not being free and it was an upper level unit that I was never told. I had a lot of heavy items and was panicking to make things work. Never again

Check that the rear door rollers are in good shape. My 14 ft rental had a roller broken which made it almost impossible to open. Was almost ready to return it when two of us were able to get the door to move. Found one of the rollers had broken and jumped the track Did a minor repair and had no more problem with it.

Me and my wife were scheduled to pick up a rental van at ten o'clock in the morning on a Sunday we showed up a few minutes early and then proceeded to wait in a line for close to an hour. There were several people in front of us and only one staff member working. The one person that was working there Stacey Harriette did a great job, she was efficient and very helpful and the reason we were there only an hour and not two is due to her diligent efforts. That being said it was ridiculous that on the last weekend day of a month there would only be one employee working. Luckily our timetable was a bit flexible, otherwise it might have been a major problem. I have had good experiences with U-Haul in the past and was disappointed with this experience.

I got dinged for going over my mileage allowance. This allowance was the unusual number of 67. I can only assume it was calculated on the distance from your pick up location to your drop off -- but unfortunately my items were shockingly going to my house as well as needing to be picked up. The amount was trivial ($4) but made me feel like I was nickle and dimed by uHaul. I'll probably NOT use Uhaul next time simply on principal.
