I have a complaint. My husband and I had a reservation set for 8am on March 1st for a 14ft truck. We got there a few minutes afterward. When we walked inside we were almost attacked by a little white dog. He kept jumping up on our legs and wouldn't allow us to get through to the desk. Finally, the dog lost interest and ran behind the counter. I made a joke about the little dog 'attacking' our legs to the man at the front desk. The man at the front desk didn't look up from his computer, didn't greet us or anything. I guessed at that point he was having a bad morning. I told him we had a reservation for 8am and was one of the trucks sitting in the front ours. He replied, "I don't know."
I told him I had a confirmation, if he wanted to look at it. He said no again. I said Ok. He clicked on his computer and said, "The truck isn't checked in. It'll take a few minutes."
It was already 8:15am and we were running on a time limit. On top of that I thought I heard him say that it would take 30 MINUTES. I replied, "Our reservation is at 8am. How long will it take?" I asked in a normal tone. The man jumped out his seat, yelling. His face was red and his eyes started moving really crazy. "I said it'd only take a few minutes!" he screamed. I moved back, startled and a little afraid. I said to him to calm down, I was only asking a question and that I did not hear him. He stormed out the office and when he came back in he THREW the truck keys across the desk.
I was still frightened about his crazy and unusual behavior. It was unprovoked and out of line. I have never had someone go off on me like that for no reason.
I didn't say anything more because I was afraid he's yell at me again.
I had my husband drop the truck back off because I was afraid of him.
I am very disturbed that U-HAUL has some loony working for them and he needs to be spoken to. He can't go around THROWING keys and YELLING and JUMPING at customers. It's just not right. I think I should write a Yelp review as well.
