The week before I used the trailer/rental I drove from Hoboken, NJ after a 10 hr. shift to visited my storage unit around 6:30pm, thinking it was open till 8pm. At 7:00pm the garage door closed locking myself and Jeep inside. I buzzed the office but everyone had gone. I was able to exit the building but was locked out with my vehicle still inside. I tried several times to contact the store manager or anyone affiliated with this location. I called the main U-Haul toll free # and after 1 hr. they were able to contact the manager who notified an employee to help me out which took another 15 min I sat on the curb in my work suit for 1:15 because the storage manager refused to answer her wk. cell phone. I have been a life long U-Haul fan but will never use your company again.

The driver side sun visor was broken from its clip. It became a driving hazard. On return of the truck we waited 15 minutes before anyone showed up at the main desk. No one was as the return area. There were no employees to be found.

We were given a truck that was supposed to have 5/8 of a tank of gas left and it only had half. went back to have him change the amount on the form which he did, he just never input the new amount into the system, so i ran into trouble when returning the truck in the city. i called and it ended up being fine, just an extra step which could have been avoided had the amount just been accurate in the first place.

For costumers returning trucks, at the time of closing if there is a person still working they should still be able to take the keys from you, especially if there's no real drop box. The door says put keys in drop box, but yet there's no real drop box. So you just leave the keys at the door. Crazy, I was told this by an employee when he could have easily taking the key from me.

This is regarding the UHaul store at Hunts Point Bronx. They wanted the truck back and forced me to return it. I could have kept it and paid the extra day charges. It is the most pathetic UHaul centers in town. They were rude and very mannerless. They need some serious lessons for customer relationship. Very very disappointed with the staff at both these location. (937 Saw Mill River Road and Hunt's point u haul)

A quicker way to open the door from the inside as the open button did not work and I had to walk all around the storage area to get the attention of the clerks...it is a long walk and I was tired from the move I was doing...

I made the reservation online. I specifically asked to not include the car coverage since my actual car insurance already covers rental. At pick up I sent my wife where she ended up signing a contract she needed not to read because she was under the impression I did all the work already. Your staff was very precipitous and not willing to spend time in clarification and in the discrepancy in my original booking and the paper she was required to sign. During my recent phone call the representative was again very disinterested and unconcerned about my issue and right away ended up me (and my wife) for signing something that was rushed to be read. Not a great experience at all. I was also denied to return the truck at white plains location without an explanation why and promptly dismissed. When I asked why my tank was not full at pick up the answer was "we are not required to". I ended up filling the tank more than what I used because how can I assess how much gas did I used. If the tank was full, I would just refill again without over refilling. It seems to me that this is another way to steal money from customers. In the end, I ended up spending more money that I expected with a poor customer service that seems to be trained to do just the above. definitely not a great experience at all. The attitute of the staff was just awful

The entire staff is always cordial , professional and pleasant to deal with. From the the front desk to the personnel taking care of the rooms. A rare commodity today. In addition, the area set up for disposal and community exchange is a great idea! Very convenient.

At pick up I was told there was 5/8 tank of gas in the van. I put 15 miles on the van. I had to put in 3.5 gallons of gas till the gauge went to 5/8. When I dropped off the van I was told I would have to speak to the manager tomorrow. I am hoping it will be resolved properly. If not, you will be hearing from me again.

I am a repeat customer of Uhaul at the Yonkers Saw Mill Road location and while I am very pleased with the service there and the Uhaul brand in general, I have some constructive comments and recommendations to offer. The policy of sending out vehicles without a full tank of gas and relying on customers to bring it back to the level the vehicle shows at the time of rental is very frustrating. It is near impossible to calculate the exact amount of fuel used and unfair when a customer puts more gas in the vehicle than necessary in order to avoid excess costs upon return of the vehicle as happened to me on a few occasions. Why can't Uhaul have a gas pump at their locations - simply fill the vehicles up upon return that are not at full capacity and bill the customer for this service? I think every customer should receive a vehicle with a full tank of gas. Bringing it back full or having Uhaul top it up means every customer will pay only for the gas they used and not a penny more. Then there is the matter of commercial vehicles and the restricted use on Parkways in NY State. I think it would be a very nice courtesey if Uhaul could provide a way for customers to navigate their routes so as to avoid parkways. Say, built in GPS systems that offer truck routes or simply printing out a route from the office location. My navigatonal system does not allow me to plot a route avoiding parkways and this makes for a very frustrating trip and unneccessary added miles. Lastly, while my experience renting cargo vans and open back pick-up trucks is very positive with most times these vehicles are in very new condition. Most times when I rent a box van or larger truck these vehicles are old and tired. I would suggest rotating out those older vehicles on a more frequent basis.

Listen carefully to the customer. I requested the van for 48 hours and they only entered 24 hours on my contract had to call an tell them the mistake and that I would return it in 48 hours

The staff was rude. The elevator did not work. We had to use the stairs, which was blocked by a security door that wouldn't open. We had to try to prop it open, but, as it was automated, it repeatedly closed. The staff refused to help and told me it was my problem. I have had similar accessability problems each of the two times I have returned to the storage location. I am extremely dissatisfied with your facilities and staff.

the agent that handled my rental placed a hold on my visa debit card. I did not know this. when I returned the rental 200pm I was told my total was 190.85. Not knowing there was a hold on my card I gave the agent 100.00 cash and I authorized him to take the 90.85 off my visa debit card. When the agent had me swipe my card to get the 90.85 the card declined because of the original hold. The agent did not cancel the query so uhauls system is authorizing visa to take out that 90.85 in addition in an attempt to straiten out the matter a manager and another agent took turns having me swipe my card and click the accept button so again visa is authorized to take 190.85 39.43 and still has a hold pending for 151.34 and I have been charged a 30.00 service fee I have alerted my bank to uhauls activity with my debit card. I do not think these uhaul agents were trying to steal but I do know that they are aware that if you do not cancel the query request for payment after a card has been swiped that machine charges that amount to the card and authorizes visa to get the funds from my wells fargo bank account. This has been two days and uhaul is content to let these charges stand and has done nothing. This shameful unprofessional sad that's what happens when hire little kids who play around and not understand or take seriously when dealing with adult credit cards and money. The manager was only interested in reprimanding me because I drop the phone on the counter after the bank confirmed that the 90.85 could not be made available to me because of the original hold placed that morning by the first uhaul agent. although the bank was directly across the street and they were kind enough to give me a highlighted print out to show to the uhaul manager she was rude disrespectful and said that she would not discuss this issue anymore. Now what exactly are you guys going to do about this.

Upon check out- Don't try and charge me 17.50 for 2 gallons of gas...when I received my receipt the gas levels are posted and it's above what I left in the truck- as for the next customer be honest- you need to train your management team at this location because nothing was comical.
