Overall the equipment was fine. The window was halfway down on the right-hand side when I picked up the vehicle and some rain had gotten inside. Also, the visor on the driver's side was damaged and would not stay up which was minorly annoying. Also, when I attempted to change my level of insurance coverage, the process took a very long time.

I put in a reservation for a 26' truck a month before I needed it. Time passed before I got a call about my reservation. I was told that I was now going to get a truck for only 10 hrs (when I originally requested 24 hours) and at a different location than I requested. I found out by speaking with the gentleman about the reservation that when I put in the reservation, they could not tell which trucks were available when I made the reservation and the truck I requested was not available at the location I requested. I later received an e-mail to do online check-in at which point I found out that I also was not getting a 26' truck that I requested, but a 24' truck. I talked to a customer service rep (Nancy) and told her my complaints. Everything I had requested, none of it was acknowledge. She could not help much and said I needed to call the local store. I asked her what the purpose of the reservation was for and told her that to me it didn't seem to do much purpose. She eventually ended the conversation on me before I was finished chatting with her. On the day I went to pick up the truck, I talked to a younger man at the U-Haul location on Roosevelt Avenue, York PA and he was quite helpful. He said I was getting a 24' truck, which I came to accept, but he didn't understand why I only could get it for 10 hours. He said that I could have it until the next morning. This gentleman was very helpful.
Once I got the truck, it ran well, until I got to my first stop. I loaded the truck and when to start it up again. It almost did not start. I had to turn off the truck 3 more times. Each of these other times, the truck did the same thing. It was almost like it had a dead battery. I did not like having to worry about whether I was going to have to call U-Haul to come jump start the truck or bring another one. I did make it back to the store ok, and I was glad to rid myself of this horrible experience. The truck number I rented was GH-2287J.
Knowing what I now know, I don't know if I would go with U-haul again or recommend anyone to U-Haul. The price was good, but up until the point that I talked to the person at the store, U-Haul's customer service was poor to say the least. No one was willing to help me and explain why I could not get anything I requested. The truck was also in poor running condition and I did not like having to worry if I was going to end up stranded with a truck full of stuff.

Reserved the rental over the phone.Gave credit card info and everything was fine. When my daughter got there they said that they had no information and nothing was reserved.

The truck I received had a very deep scratch in the side wall of the tire and the entire trip we feared it was going to blow. It took over 45 minutes for me to get the proper truck because of a computer error (not sure what but my credit card had 3 separate holds on it for each time he re-rang me up) and additionally someone messed up my reservation and the amount I was quoted online was grossly different from the amount the store quoted me at - I would not have used U-Haul at all if I had realized it was going to cost so much.

Both times that I was in there staffing was way to shorthanded. The first time I stood in the store for 15-20 minutes before any employee even came into the store. The second time there was one employee and 4 people in front of me. So again the wait was 20 min or more. The staff was nice but they need more.

2 out of the 3 staff I dealt with did not seem to know what they were doing. While I understand one was a trainee, the employee he sent me to to try and help did not have any idea how to help either. When I took the truck initially, I thought I had paid already. When I returned the truck, I was informed that there was a problem with my card and then told by another employee that I actually had not paid when I got the truck the first time. When I left after returning the truck, I was not sure if I still had paid nor did I know if my card was going to be charged twice or at all. I was very unsatisfied with my experience while at the UHaul location and may not rent from you in the future if I have to move again.

Check in went well - very quick - no line - went in at 9:00 on Monday, Return was quick and convenient, pulled up and the guy scanned my paperwork, got mileage, checked truck for damage and gave me my final total.

Outside worker told me to "stay in the truck" when I pulled in until he checked it out. This was not a police road stop. Then he wrote the wrong truck number down for me to take inside. Inside, I waited in a very long line only to have the worker behind the counter try to charge me a "wrong destination charge" when I was dropping the one-way rental at the correct destination. He acted as if he didn't see it until I pointed it out and he commented that the charge was "so small he wouldn't have noticed." While I was trying to work this out, the worker next to me told a customer who was there inquiring on prices for one-way vs local over a 3-day span that "they could check this online." Basically, he couldn't work their computer system and was too frustrated to give a quote. If I was that customer, I would have gone elsewhere as the older lady was very upset by his comment.

Get some competent staff. Both at pick-up and return their was one older gentlemen that took a lot of time checking in and out customers. Had to run and get the manager several times. When I returned the equipment had to wait in line for 40 minutes. There was another unsatisfied customer in line swearing and yelling at the staff about being "mislead" about charges. One person in line gave up on his purchase and left.

I reserved a furniture dolly, but when I got there, the rep said they must be all out. He offered that I buy one, which seemed like a scam to me. If you are going to be out of crucial items needed for a move, at least give the customer a heads up so they can make other arrangements.

Pick up and drop off were easy and I had no issues with the trailer. I really liked the fact that this cargo trailer had swing doors instead of a roll door! It made loading much easier.

Rented a truck for 9am. Did everything on line and still had to wait a long time in line because there was only one person working. This is not acceptable. I had people waiting for me. Not only that, but they send you out to a sea of trucks and tell you "it's out there." Took awhile to find truck and when I did it would not start because the battery was dead. It had to be jumped. I then had to have it jumped again during the rental time period. Not an overall nice experience. Should have been compensated in some way for aggravation.

I rented a 1 way truck. I was given 2 different drop off locations, neither of which I could find. The addresses were abviously incorrect. The third call, after getting transfered several times and then cut off, was a major U-Haul owned facility approx 1 mile from where I was delivering. I'll never, ever use U-Haul again. It took longer to find a drop off location than it did to unload the truck.

A very special thanks to Lynn, who stayed late to correct a faulty wire connector installation gotten a week earlier. I was on a timeframe and had not planned for this obstacle. Lynn gladly jumped right in an made things right for me even though it required him to stay after hours. After performing above and beyond his call of duty, he graciously refused to accept a gratuity I offered because I that I thought he earned it. He did so completely on his respect for his companies policy. This location should be very proud to have this man on their team. I have always viewed U-Haul as a fine organization and efforts of men like this are why. Thank You. WJM

After completing the online check in, it still took nearly an hour to pick up the trailer. Had to wait in a long line twice to complete the rental. Once before getting the trailer connected and once again after. Long wait both times due to only 1 person working the counter with tons of people waiting. Everything else was excellent. Friendly staff and good process other than having only 1 person at check in counter.

The facility was understaffed for the amount of people picking up trucks on a Saturday morning.It took about 45 minutes to get the truck.
The lower part of the skirting on the truck was all smashed in. I was told not to worry since I purchased the insurance.
Not a good experience at all.
